Jeremiah 10

Hear ye the word which the LORD speaketh unto you, O house of Israel:

Ακουσατε τον λογον, τον οποιον ο Κυριος λαλει προς εσας, οικος Ισραηλ.

Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them.

Ουτω λεγει Κυριος Μη μανθανετε την οδον των εθνων και εις τα σημεια του ουρανου μη πτοεισθε, διοτι τα εθνη πτοουνται εις αυτα.

For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe.

Διοτι τα νομιμα των λαων ειναι ματαια, διοτι κοπτουσι ξυλον εκ του δασους, εργον χειρων τεκτονος με τον πελεκυν.

They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not.

Καλλωπιζουσιν αυτο με αργυρον και χρυσον στερεονουσιν αυτο με καρφια και με σφυρας, δια να μη κινηται.

They are upright as the palm tree, but speak not: they must needs be borne, because they cannot go. Be not afraid of them; for they cannot do evil, neither also is it in them to do good.

Ειναι ορθια ως φοινιξ, αλλα δεν λαλουσιν εχουσι χρειαν να βασταζωνται, διοτι δεν δυνανται να περιπατησωσι. Μη φοβεισθε αυτα διοτι δεν δυνανται να κακοποιησωσιν, ουδε ειναι δυνατον εις αυτα να αγαθοποιησωσι.

Forasmuch as there is none like unto thee, O LORD; thou art great, and thy name is great in might.

Δεν υπαρχει ομοιος σου, Κυριε εισαι μεγας και μεγα το ονομα σου εν δυναμει.

Who would not fear thee, O King of nations? for to thee doth it appertain: forasmuch as among all the wise men of the nations, and in all their kingdoms, there is none like unto thee.

Τις δεν ηθελε σε φοβεισθαι, Βασιλευ των εθνων; διοτι εις σε ανηκει τουτο, διοτι μεταξυ παντων των σοφων των εθνων και εν πασι τοις βασιλειοις αυτων δεν υπαρχει ομοιος σου.

But they are altogether brutish and foolish: the stock is a doctrine of vanities.

Αλλ ειναι πανταπασι κτηνωδεις και αφρονες διδασκαλια ματαιοτητων ειναι το ξυλον.

Silver spread into plates is brought from Tarshish, and gold from Uphaz, the work of the workman, and of the hands of the founder: blue and purple is their clothing: they are all the work of cunning men.

Αργυριον κεχυμενον εις πλακας εφερθη απο Θαρσεις και χρυσιον απο Ουφαζ, εργον τεχνιτου και χειρων χρυσοχοου κυανουν και πορφυρουν ειναι το ενδυμα αυτων εργον σοφων παντα ταυτα.

But the LORD is the true God, he is the living God, and an everlasting king: at his wrath the earth shall tremble, and the nations shall not be able to abide his indignation.

Αλλ ο Κυριος ειναι Θεος αληθινος, ειναι Θεος ζων και βασιλευς αιωνιος εν τη οργη αυτου η γη θελει σεισθη και τα εθνη δεν θελουσιν ανθεξει εις την αγανακτησιν αυτου.

Thus shall ye say unto them, The gods that have not made the heavens and the earth, even they shall perish from the earth, and from under these heavens.

Ουτω θελετε ειπει προς αυτους οι θεοι, οιτινες δεν εκαμον τον ουρανον και την γην, θελουσιν αφανισθη απο της γης και υποκατωθεν του ουρανου τουτου.

He hath made the earth by his power, he hath established the world by his wisdom, and hath stretched out the heavens by his discretion.

Αυτος εποιησε την γην δια της δυναμεως αυτου, εστερεωσε την οικουμενην εν τη σοφια αυτου, και εξετεινε τους ουρανους εν τη συνεσει αυτου.

When he uttereth his voice, there is a multitude of waters in the heavens, and he causeth the vapours to ascend from the ends of the earth; he maketh lightnings with rain, and bringeth forth the wind out of his treasures.

Οταν εκπεμπη την φωνην αυτου, συνισταται πληθος υδατων εν ουρανοις, και αναγει νεφελας απο των ακρων της γης καμνει αστραπας δια βροχην και εξαγει ανεμον απο των θησαυρων αυτου.

Every man is brutish in his knowledge: every founder is confounded by the graven image: for his molten image is falsehood, and there is no breath in them.

Πας ανθρωπος εμωρανθη υπο της γνωσεως αυτου, πας χωνευτης κατησχυνθη υπο των γλυπτων διοτι ψευδος ειναι το χωνευτον αυτου και πνοη δεν υπαρχει εν αυτω.

They are vanity, and the work of errors: in the time of their visitation they shall perish.

Ματαιοτης ταυτα, εργον πλανης εν τω καιρω της επισκεψεως αυτων θελουσιν απολεσθη.

The portion of Jacob is not like them: for he is the former of all things; and Israel is the rod of his inheritance: The LORD of hosts is his name.

Η μερις του Ιακωβ δεν ειναι ως αυτα διοτι αυτος ειναι ο πλασας τα παντα, και ο Ισραηλ ειναι η �αβδος της κληρονομιας αυτου Κυριος των δυναμεων το ονομα αυτου.

Gather up thy wares out of the land, O inhabitant of the fortress.

Συναξον εκ της γης την περιουσιαν σου, συ, η κατοικουσα εν οχυρωματι.

For thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will sling out the inhabitants of the land at this once, and will distress them, that they may find it so.

Διοτι ουτω λεγει Κυριος Ιδου, εγω θελω εκσφενδονισει τους κατοικους της γης ταυτην την φοραν και θελω στενοχωρησει αυτους, ωστε να ευρωσιν αυτο.

Woe is me for my hurt! my wound is grievous: but I said, Truly this is a grief, and I must bear it.

Ουαι εις εμε δια την θραυσιν μου η πληγη μου ειναι οδυνηρα. αλλ εγω ειπα, Τωοντι τουτο ειναι πονος μου, και πρεπει να υποφερω αυτον.

My tabernacle is spoiled, and all my cords are broken: my children are gone forth of me, and they are not: there is none to stretch forth my tent any more, and to set up my curtains.

Η σκηνη μου ηρημωθη και παντα τα σχοινια μου κατεκοπησαν οι υιοι μου εχωρισθησαν απ εμου και δεν υπαρχουσι δεν υπαρχει πλεον ο εκτεινων την σκηνην μου και σηκονων τα παραπετασματα μου.

For the pastors are become brutish, and have not sought the LORD: therefore they shall not prosper, and all their flocks shall be scattered.

Επειδη οι ποιμενες εμωρανθησαν και τον Κυριον δεν εξεζητησαν, δια τουτο δεν θελουσιν ευοδωθη και παντα τα ποιμνια αυτων θελουσι διασκορπισθη.

Behold, the noise of the bruit is come, and a great commotion out of the north country, to make the cities of Judah desolate, and a den of dragons.

Ιδου, ηχος θορυβου ερχεται και συγκινησις μεγαλη εκ της γης του βορρα, δια να καταστηση τας πολεις του Ιουδα ερημωσιν, κατοικιαν θωων.

O LORD, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps.

Κυριε, γνωριζω οτι η οδος του ανθρωπου δεν εξαρταται απ αυτου του περιπατουντος ανθρωπου δεν ειναι το να κατευθυνη τα διαβηματα αυτου.

O LORD, correct me, but with judgment; not in thine anger, lest thou bring me to nothing.

Κυριε, παιδευσον με, πλην εν κρισει μη εν τω θυμω σου, δια να μη με συντελεσης.

Pour out thy fury upon the heathen that know thee not, and upon the families that call not on thy name: for they have eaten up Jacob, and devoured him, and consumed him, and have made his habitation desolate.

Εκχεε τον θυμον σου επι τα εθνη τα μη γνωριζοντα σε, και επι γενεας, αιτινες δεν επικαλουνται το ονομα σου διοτι κατεφαγον τον Ιακωβ και κατηναλωσαν αυτον και κατεφθειραν αυτον και ηρημωσαν την κατοικιαν αυτου.
