Daniel 12

And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.

În vremea aceea se va scula marele voivod Mihail, ocrotitorul copiilor poporului tău; căci aceasta va fi o vreme de strîmtorare, cum n'a mai fost de cînd sînt neamurile şi pînă la vremea aceasta. Dar în vremea aceea, poporul tău va fi mîntuit, şi anume oricine va fi găsit scris în carte.

And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.

Mulţi din cei ce dorm în ţărîna pămîntului se vor scula: unii pentru viaţa vecinică, şi alţii pentru ocară şi ruşine vecinică.

And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.

Cei înţelepţi vor străluci ca strălucirea cerului, şi cei ce vor învăţa pe mulţi să umble în neprihănire vor străluci ca stelele, în veac şi în veci de veci.

But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.

Tu, însă, Daniele, ţine ascunse aceste cuvinte, şi pecetluieşte cartea, pînă la vremea sfîrşitului.... Atunci mulţi o vor citi, şi cunoştinţa va creşte.``

Then I Daniel looked, and, behold, there stood other two, the one on this side of the bank of the river, and the other on that side of the bank of the river.

Şi eu, Daniel, m'am uitat, şi iată că alţi doi oameni stăteau în picioare, unul dincoace de rîu, şi altul dincolo de malul rîului.

And one said to the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, How long shall it be to the end of these wonders?

Unul din ei a zis omului aceluia îmbrăcat în haine de in, care stătea deasupra apelor rîului: ,,Cît va mai fi pînă la sfîrşitul acestor minuni?``

And I heard the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and sware by him that liveth for ever that it shall be for a time, times, and an half; and when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished.

Şi am auzit pe omul acela îmbrăcat în haine de in, care stătea deasupra apelor rîului; el şi -a ridicat spre ceruri mîna dreaptă şi mîna stîngă, şi a jurat pe Cel ce trăieşte vecinic, că va mai fi o vreme, două vremuri, şi o jumătate de vreme, şi că toate aceste lucruri se vor sfîrşi cînd puterea poporului sfînt va fi zdrobită de tot.``

And I heard, but I understood not: then said I, O my Lord, what shall be the end of these things?

Eu am auzit, dar n'am înţeles; şi am zis: ,,Domnul meu, care va fi sfîrşitul acestor lucruri?``

And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end.

El a răspuns: ,,Du-te Daniele! Căci cuvintele acestea vor fi ascunse şi pecetluite pînă la vremea sfîrşitului.

Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.

Mulţi vor fi curăţiţi, albiţi şi lămuriţi; cei răi vor face răul, şi niciunul din cei răi nu va înţelege, dar cei pricepuţi vor înţelege.

And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days.

Dela vremea cînd va înceta jertfa necurmată, şi de cînd se va aşeza urîciunea pustiitorului, vor mai fi o mie două sute nouăzeci de zile.

Blessed is he that waiteth, and cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days.

Ferice de cine va aştepta, şi va ajunge pînă la o mie trei sute treizeci şi cinci de zile!

But go thou thy way till the end be: for thou shalt rest, and stand in thy lot at the end of the days.

Iar tu, du-te, pînă va veni sfîrşitul; tu te vei odihni, şi te vei scula iarăş... odată în partea ta de moştenire, la sfîrşitul zilelor``
