Isaiah 66

Thus saith the LORD, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: where is the house that ye build unto me? and where is the place of my rest?

خداوند می‌گوید: «آسمان تخت من و زمین پای‌انداز من است، پس چه نوع خانه‌ای می‌توانستید برای من بسازید و چه مکانی برای من فراهم کنید تا در آن زندگی کنم؟

For all those things hath mine hand made, and all those things have been, saith the LORD: but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word.

من خودم تمام جهان را آفریدم! من از مردم فروتن و توبه‌کار که از من می‌ترسند و از من اطاعت می‌کنند خشنودم.

He that killeth an ox is as if he slew a man; he that sacrificeth a lamb, as if he cut off a dog's neck; he that offereth an oblation, as if he offered swine's blood; he that burneth incense, as if he blessed an idol. Yea, they have chosen their own ways, and their soul delighteth in their abominations.

«مردم هرچه آنها را خوشحال کند به عمل می‌آوردند. برای آنها فرقی نمی‌کند که یک گاو را به عنوان قربانی بکشند یا یک انسان را قربانی کنند، قربانی کردن یک گوسفند و شکستن گردن یک سگ برایشان یکی است، تقدیم غلاّت و پاشیدن خون خوک برایشان یکسان است، و فرقی بین تقدیم بُخور و پرستش بُتها قایل نمی‌شوند. آنها از پرستشهای نفرت‌انگیز لذّت می‌برند.

I also will choose their delusions, and will bring their fears upon them; because when I called, none did answer; when I spake, they did not hear: but they did evil before mine eyes, and chose that in which I delighted not.

وقتی من آنها را خواندم، به ایشان گوش دادم و سخن گفتم، پس من آنها را گرفتار مصیبتی خواهم کرد که همه از آن واهمه دارند. آنها آگاهانه از اطاعت من سر باز زدند و مرتکب شرارت شدند.»

Hear the word of the LORD, ye that tremble at his word; Your brethren that hated you, that cast you out for my name's sake, said, Let the LORD be glorified: but he shall appear to your joy, and they shall be ashamed.

ای کسانی‌که از خداوند می‌ترسید واز او اطاعت می‌کنید، به آنچه او می‌گوید گوش دهید: «به‌خاطر وفاداری شما به من، بعضی مردم از قوم خودتان از شما نفرت دارند و از شما دوری می‌کنند. آنها با مسخره به شما می‌گویند: 'بگذارید خداوند بزرگی خودش را نشان دهد و شما را نجات بخشد تا ما هم ببینیم که شما چقدر خشنود هستید.' امّا آنها خودشان شرمنده خواهند شد.

A voice of noise from the city, a voice from the temple, a voice of the LORD that rendereth recompence to his enemies.

به صدای فریادهایی که از شهر و از معبد بزرگ می‌رسد، گوش دهید، این صدای خداوند است که دشمنان خود را تنبیه می‌کند.

Before she travailed, she brought forth; before her pain came, she was delivered of a man child.

«شهر مقدّسِ من مانند زنی است که بدون تحمّل دوران حاملگی فرزندی به دنیا می‌آورد.

Who hath heard such a thing? who hath seen such things? Shall the earth be made to bring forth in one day? or shall a nation be born at once? for as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children.

آیا تا به حال کسی چیزی مثل این را دیده یا شنیده است؟ آیا هرگز ملّتی در ظرف یک روز به دنیا آمده است؟ صهیون قبل از به دنیا آمدن این ملّت، متحمّل درد زیادی نخواهد شد.

Shall I bring to the birth, and not cause to bring forth? saith the LORD: shall I cause to bring forth, and shut the womb? saith thy God.

تصوّر نکنید که من قوم خودم را برای به دنیا آمدن آماده می‌کنم ولی نمی‌گذارم متولّد شود.» خداوند چنین گفته است.

Rejoice ye with Jerusalem, and be glad with her, all ye that love her: rejoice for joy with her, all ye that mourn for her:

همراه با اورشلیم شادی کنید، برای او خوشحال باشید! ای تمام کسانی‌که این شهر را دوست دارید. در شادی او شریک شوید، و ای تمام کسانی‌که برای او سوگوار بودید،

That ye may suck, and be satisfied with the breasts of her consolations; that ye may milk out, and be delighted with the abundance of her glory.

از فراوانی نعمت او مسرور شوید، مانند طفلی که از پستان مادرش تغذیه می‌کند.

For thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will extend peace to her like a river, and the glory of the Gentiles like a flowing stream: then shall ye suck, ye shall be borne upon her sides, and be dandled upon her knees.

خداوند می‌گوید: «من خوشبختی ابدی را برای شما می‌آورم، ثروتهای سایر ملّتها مثل وادی که هیچ‌وقت خشک نمی‌شود به طرف شما خواهد آمد. شما مانند طفلی خواهید بود که با شیر مادر تغذیه می‌کند، در بغل مادر می‌آرامد، و با رفتار محبّت‌آمیز او رشد می‌کند.

As one whom his mother comforteth, so will I comfort you; and ye shall be comforted in Jerusalem.

من در اورشلیم مثل مادری که فرزند خود را تسلّی می‌دهد، تو را تسلّی خواهم داد.

And when ye see this, your heart shall rejoice, and your bones shall flourish like an herb: and the hand of the LORD shall be known toward his servants, and his indignation toward his enemies.

وقتی شما ببینید که چنین چیزی واقع می‌شود خوشحال خواهید شد، و آن شما را قوی و سالم خواهد ساخت. آنگاه خواهید دانست که من، خداوند، به کسانی‌که از من اطاعت کنند کمک می‌کنم، و خشم خود را علیه دشمنانم نشان خواهم داد.»

For, behold, the LORD will come with fire, and with his chariots like a whirlwind, to render his anger with fury, and his rebuke with flames of fire.

خداوند مثل آتش می‌آید، او برفراز ارّابه‌ها مثل گردبادی برای مجازات کسانی‌که مورد غضب او هستند می‌آید.

For by fire and by his sword will the LORD plead with all flesh: and the slain of the LORD shall be many.

او با آتش و شمشیر تمام کسانی را که خاطی بودند مجازات خواهد کرد، و بسیاری از آنها کشته خواهند شد.

They that sanctify themselves, and purify themselves in the gardens behind one tree in the midst, eating swine's flesh, and the abomination, and the mouse, shall be consumed together, saith the LORD.

خداوند می‌گوید: «عاقبت کار کسانی‌که خود را برای پرستش بُتها تطهیر می‌کنند، و در صف زائرین باغهای مقدّس هستند، و گوشت خوک و موش و سایر غذاهای حرام را می‌خوردند نزدیک است.

For I know their works and their thoughts: it shall come, that I will gather all nations and tongues; and they shall come, and see my glory.

من افکار و کارهای او را می‌دانم. من می‌آیم تا تمام ملّتهای جهان را جمع کنم. وقتی آنها همه جمع شوند قدرت و جلال مرا خواهند دید

And I will set a sign among them, and I will send those that escape of them unto the nations, to Tarshish, Pul, and Lud, that draw the bow, to Tubal, and Javan, to the isles afar off, that have not heard my fame, neither have seen my glory; and they shall declare my glory among the Gentiles.

و خواهند دانست من همان کسی هستم که آنها را مجازات می‌کند. «امّا من بعضی از آنها را از مجازات معاف خواهم کرد و به میان ملّتها و به سرزمینهای دوردست که نام مرا نشنیده یا جلال مرا ندیده‌اند مانند اسپانیا، لیبی، لود با تیراندازان ماهرشان، و به توبال و یونان خواهم فرستاد تا بزرگی مرا در میان این ملّتها اعلام کنند.

And they shall bring all your brethren for an offering unto the LORD out of all nations upon horses, and in chariots, and in litters, and upon mules, and upon swift beasts, to my holy mountain Jerusalem, saith the LORD, as the children of Israel bring an offering in a clean vessel into the house of the LORD.

آنها هموطنان شما را از میان ملّتهای دیگر به عنوان هدیه‌ای برای من خواهند آورد. آنها را سوار بر اسب، قاطر، شتر، ارّابه‌ها و گاریها به کوه مقدّس من در اورشلیم می‌آورند، همان‌طور که فرزندان یعقوب، غلاّتِ خود را در ظروف پاک در معبد بزرگ به حضور خدا تقدیم می‌کنند.

And I will also take of them for priests and for Levites, saith the LORD.

و من بعضی از آنها را بر‌می‌گزینم تا به صورت لاوی و کاهن خدمت کنند.

For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the LORD, so shall your seed and your name remain.

«همان‌طور که آسمان و زمین تازه، با قدرت من پایدار می‌مانند، نسل شما و اسم شما هم باقی خواهد ماند.

And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the LORD.

خداوند می‌گوید در تمام جشن‌های روز ماه نو و در تمام سبت‌ها، مردم از هر قوم و ملّتی برای پرستش من به اینجا در اورشلیم خواهند آمد. خداوند می‌گوید:

And they shall go forth, and look upon the carcases of the men that have transgressed against me: for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched; and they shall be an abhorring unto all flesh.

وقتی اینها بیرون می‌روند، بدنهای بی‌جان کسانی را می‌بینند که بر من شوریده‌اند. کرمهایی که آنها را می‌خورند مرگ نخواهند داشت و آتشی که آنها را می‌‌سوزاند، هیچ‌وقت خاموش نخواهد شد. منظرهٔ آنها برای تمام مردم دنیا نفرت‌انگیز خواهد بود.»
