Deuteronomy 33

And this is the blessing, wherewith Moses the man of God blessed the children of Israel before his death.

این برکاتی است که موسی مرد خدا، قبل از وفاتش به قوم بنی‌اسرائیل داد:

And he said, The LORD came from Sinai, and rose up from Seir unto them; he shined forth from mount Paran, and he came with ten thousands of saints: from his right hand went a fiery law for them.

خداوند از کوه سینا آمد، مانند خورشید برفراز اَدوم طلوع کرد و از کوه فاران بر قوم خود درخشید. آنگاه دهها هزار فرشته با او بودند و آتشی مشتعل در دست راست او.

Yea, he loved the people; all his saints are in thy hand: and they sat down at thy feet; every one shall receive of thy words.

خداوند قوم خود را دوست دارد. و آنانی را که متعلّق به او هستند، محفاظت می‌کند. ما در مقابل پاهای او، سر فرود می‌آوریم و پیرو فرامین او هستیم.

Moses commanded us a law, even the inheritance of the congregation of Jacob.

ما از فرامینی که موسی به ما داده است، پیروی می‌کنیم. آنها باارزشترین گنجینهٔ قوم ما هستند.

And he was king in Jeshurun, when the heads of the people and the tribes of Israel were gathered together.

وقتی طایفه‌های آنها و رهبران قوم اجتماع کردند، خداوند پادشاه آنان گردید.

Let Reuben live, and not die; and let not his men be few.

موسی دربارهٔ طایفهٔ رئوبین گفت: «رئوبین جاوید باد با وجودی که تعدادشان کم است.»

And this is the blessing of Judah: and he said, Hear, LORD, the voice of Judah, and bring him unto his people: let his hands be sufficient for him; and be thou an help to him from his enemies.

دربارهٔ طایفهٔ یهودا گفت: «ای خداوند، به فریاد آنها برای کمک گوش فرا ده، آنها را دوباره با طایفه‌های دیگر متحّد کن، پروردگارا، برای آنها بجنگ و آنها را در برابر دشمنان یاری ده!»

And of Levi he said, Let thy Thummim and thy Urim be with thy holy one, whom thou didst prove at Massah, and with whom thou didst strive at the waters of Meribah;

دربارهٔ طایفهٔ لاوی گفت: «تو ای خداوند، ارادهٔ خود را به وسیلهٔ اوریم و تُمیم به خدمتگزاران وفادار خود لاویان، آشکار کن. تو آنها را در مسا آزمودی و در چشمه مریبه حقانیّت آنها را ثابت کردی.

Who said unto his father and to his mother, I have not seen him; neither did he acknowledge his brethren, nor knew his own children: for they have observed thy word, and kept thy covenant.

آنان بیش از پدر و مادر، برادران یا فرزندان خود به تو وفاداری نشان دادند. آنها از فرامین تو پیروی کردند و به پیمان تو وفادار ماندند.

They shall teach Jacob thy judgments, and Israel thy law: they shall put incense before thee, and whole burnt sacrifice upon thine altar.

ایشان به قوم تو خواهند آموخت تا از قوانین تو پیروی کنند و در قربانگاه تو قربانی کنند.

Bless, LORD, his substance, and accept the work of his hands: smite through the loins of them that rise against him, and of them that hate him, that they rise not again.

ای خداوند، به آنها کمک کن تا قوم نیرومندی گردند، از کارهای دستهایشان خشنود باش، دشمنان آنان را شکست ده و نگذار دیگر برخیزند.»

And of Benjamin he said, The beloved of the LORD shall dwell in safety by him; and the LORD shall cover him all the day long, and he shall dwell between his shoulders.

دربارهٔ طایفهٔ بنیامین چنین گفت: «این قومی ‌است که خداوند دوستش دارد. و نگه‌دار اوست، او در تمام روز از آنها حفاظت می‌کند و در میان آنها می‌خرامد.»

And of Joseph he said, Blessed of the LORD be his land, for the precious things of heaven, for the dew, and for the deep that coucheth beneath,

دربارهٔ طایفهٔ یوسف گفت: «خداوند زمین آنها را با باران و آبهای زیر زمین برکت دهد.

And for the precious fruits brought forth by the sun, and for the precious things put forth by the moon,

زمینهای ایشان با میوه‌های رسیده در زیر آفتاب و فراوانی محصول در هر فصل برکت یابد.

And for the chief things of the ancient mountains, and for the precious things of the lasting hills,

تپّه‌های کهن ایشان پر از میوه‌های خوب گردد.

And for the precious things of the earth and fulness thereof, and for the good will of him that dwelt in the bush: let the blessing come upon the head of Joseph, and upon the top of the head of him that was separated from his brethren.

زمین‌های آنها پر از نیکویی گردد و خداوند که در بوتهٔ سوزان ظاهر شد، از آنها خشنود باشد. تمام این برکات شامل حال یوسف باد، یعنی کسی‌که سرکردهٔ برادران خود بود.

His glory is like the firstling of his bullock, and his horns are like the horns of unicorns: with them he shall push the people together to the ends of the earth: and they are the ten thousands of Ephraim, and they are the thousands of Manasseh.

یوسف، همچون گاو نیرومندی است، چون شاخهای گاو وحشی، شاخهای او هزار نفر طایفه منسی و ده هزار نفر طایفه افرایم هستند. با آنها قومها را زخمی می‌کند و تا پایان زمین می‌راند.»

And of Zebulun he said, Rejoice, Zebulun, in thy going out; and, Issachar, in thy tents.

دربارهٔ طایفه‌های زبولون و یساکار چنین گفت: «ای زبولون در تجارت دریای خود سعادتمند شو و ای یساکار ثروت تو در خانه‌ات افزون گردد.

They shall call the people unto the mountain; there they shall offer sacrifices of righteousness: for they shall suck of the abundance of the seas, and of treasures hid in the sand.

آنان بیگانگان را به کوه خود دعوت می‌کنند و قربانی راستین را در آنجا قربانی می‌کنند. آنها ثروت خود را از دریا و از شن ساحل دریا به دست می‌آورند.»

And of Gad he said, Blessed be he that enlargeth Gad: he dwelleth as a lion, and teareth the arm with the crown of the head.

دربارهٔ طایفهٔ جاد چنین گفت: «سپاس آفریدگار را که سرزمین آنها را گسترش داد. جاد مانند شیر صبر می‌کند تا بازو یا سر را بدرد.

And he provided the first part for himself, because there, in a portion of the lawgiver, was he seated; and he came with the heads of the people, he executed the justice of the LORD, and his judgments with Israel.

آنها بهترین زمین‌ها را برای خود برداشتند. سهم رهبران به ایشان تعلّق گرفت. هنگامی‌که رهبران قوم اسرائیل گرد هم آمدند، آنها از فرامین و قوانین خداوند پیروی کردند.»

And of Dan he said, Dan is a lion's whelp: he shall leap from Bashan.

دربارهٔ طایفهٔ دان چنین گفت: «دان مثل شیر جوانی است که از باشان بیرون می‌جهد.»

And of Naphtali he said, O Naphtali, satisfied with favour, and full with the blessing of the LORD: possess thou the west and the south.

دربارهٔ طایفهٔ نفتالی او گفت: «نفتالی به‌خاطر نیکی خداوند، از برکات افزون برخوردار شده است، سرزمین آنها از دریاچهٔ جلیل تا جنوب می‌رسد.»

And of Asher he said, Let Asher be blessed with children; let him be acceptable to his brethren, and let him dip his foot in oil.

دربارهٔ طایفهٔ اشیر گفت: «اشیر از طایفه‌های دیگر بیشتر برکت یافته است، آرزو می‌کنم که مورد علاقهٔ برادران خود قرار گیرد. و زمینش پُر از درختان زیتون باشد.

Thy shoes shall be iron and brass; and as thy days, so shall thy strength be.

شهرهایش با دروازه‌های آهنین حفاظت شوند. و همیشه در امنیّت زیست کند.»

There is none like unto the God of Jeshurun, who rideth upon the heaven in thy help, and in his excellency on the sky.

ای مردم اسرائیل، هیچ خدایی چون خدای شما نیست. او با عظمت خود از فراز ابرها به یاری شما می‌آید.

The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms: and he shall thrust out the enemy from before thee; and shall say, Destroy them.

خداوند همیشه مدافع شما بوده است. دست جاودانی خدا همیشه پشتیبان شماست، او دشمنان شما را بیرون راند، هنگامی‌که شما پیشروی می‌کردید و به شما گفت همه را نابود کنید!

Israel then shall dwell in safety alone: the fountain of Jacob shall be upon a land of corn and wine; also his heavens shall drop down dew.

تا فرزندان یعقوب در امنیّتِ سرزمین پُر از غلّه و شراب آنجایی که شبنم از آسمان، زمین را آبیاری می‌کند، در آرامش به سر برند.

Happy art thou, O Israel: who is like unto thee, O people saved by the LORD, the shield of thy help, and who is the sword of thy excellency! and thine enemies shall be found liars unto thee; and thou shalt tread upon their high places.

ای اسرائیل، چه شادمان هستی، هیچ قومی چون تو نیست، قومی که خداوند نجات داده است. خداوند سپر و شمشیر توست تا از تو دفاع کند و تو را پیروز گرداند. دشمنان تو برای ترّحم خواهند آمد و تو آنها را لگدکوب خواهی کرد.
