Isaiah 63

این کیست که از جانب شهر بُصره در ایدوم می‌آید؟ این کیست که با چنین لباس قرمز، با شکوه و جلال و با قدرت و عظمت پیش می‌رود؟ این خداست -‌خدای قادر و نجات‌دهنده- که می‌آید تا پیروزی خود را اعلام کند.

Who is this that cometh from Edom, with dyed garments from Bozrah? this that is glorious in his apparel, travelling in the greatness of his strength? I that speak in righteousness, mighty to save.

چرا جامه‌ات مثل لباس کارگری که انگور را برای شراب می‌فشارد قرمز است؟

Wherefore art thou red in thine apparel, and thy garments like him that treadeth in the winefat?

خداوند در پاسخ می‌گوید: «من ملّتها را مثل انگور زیر پا لِه کردم، و هیچ‌کس به کمک من نیامد. در خشم خود آنها را لگدمال کردم، و لباسم از خون آنها سرخ‌فام شده است.

I have trodden the winepress alone; and of the people there was none with me: for I will tread them in mine anger, and trample them in my fury; and their blood shall be sprinkled upon my garments, and I will stain all my raiment.

به این نتیجه رسیدم که زمان نجات قوم من و زمان مجازات دشمنان آنها فرا رسیده است.

For the day of vengeance is in mine heart, and the year of my redeemed is come.

وقتی نگاه کردم و دیدم کسی به یاری من نیامده متعجّب شدم. امّا خشم من مرا قوی ساخت و پیروزی از آن من شد.

And I looked, and there was none to help; and I wondered that there was none to uphold: therefore mine own arm brought salvation unto me; and my fury, it upheld me.

در خشم خود تمام ملّتها را پایمال و خُرد کردم و خون آنها را بر زمین ریختم.»

And I will tread down the people in mine anger, and make them drunk in my fury, and I will bring down their strength to the earth.

از محبّت بی‌پایان خداوند سخن می‌گویم؛ و او را به‌خاطر آنچه برای ما انجام داده، سپاس خواهم گفت. او قوم اسرائیل را به‌خاطر رحمت و محبّت پایدار خود به فراوانی برکت داده است.

I will mention the lovingkindnesses of the LORD, and the praises of the LORD, according to all that the LORD hath bestowed on us, and the great goodness toward the house of Israel, which he hath bestowed on them according to his mercies, and according to the multitude of his lovingkindnesses.

خداوند گفت: «آنها قوم من هستند، آنها مرا فریب نخواهند داد.» و به همین دلیل آنها را از تمام

For he said, Surely they are my people, children that will not lie: so he was their Saviour.

درد و رنجشان نجات داد. فرشته‌ای حضور نداشت، آن خود خداوند بود که آنها را نجات داد. محبّت و رحمتش به آنها خلاصی بخشید، همان‌طور که در گذشته همیشه نگه‌دار آنها بوده است.

In all their affliction he was afflicted, and the angel of his presence saved them: in his love and in his pity he redeemed them; and he bare them, and carried them all the days of old.

امّا آنها برضد او شوریدند و روح مقدّس او را افسرده کردند. به این جهت خداوند با آنها مخالفت کرد و برضد آنها جنگید.

But they rebelled, and vexed his holy Spirit: therefore he was turned to be their enemy, and he fought against them.

آنگاه آنها گذشته -‌یعنی ایّام موسی بندهٔ خداوند- را به‌خاطر آوردند و پرسیدند: «کجاست خداوند، آن خداوندی که رهبران قوم خودش را در دریا نجات داد؟ کجاست آن خداوندی که روح مقدّس خود را به ایشان داد؟

Then he remembered the days of old, Moses, and his people, saying, Where is he that brought them up out of the sea with the shepherd of his flock? where is he that put his holy Spirit within him?

کجاست آن خداوند قادری که به وسیلهٔ موسی چنان کارهای بزرگی انجام می‌داد، دریا را می‌شکافت و قوم خود را در عمق دریا رهبری می‌کرد تا نامش جلال ابدی یابد؟» تحت رهبری خداوند آنها مثل اسبهای وحشی تیزپا بودند و هیچ‌وقت نلغزیدند.

That led them by the right hand of Moses with his glorious arm, dividing the water before them, to make himself an everlasting name?

کجاست آن خداوند قادری که به وسیلهٔ موسی چنان کارهای بزرگی انجام می‌داد، دریا را می‌شکافت و قوم خود را در عمق دریا رهبری می‌کرد تا نامش جلال ابدی یابد؟» تحت رهبری خداوند آنها مثل اسبهای وحشی تیزپا بودند و هیچ‌وقت نلغزیدند.

That led them through the deep, as an horse in the wilderness, that they should not stumble?

روح خداوند به آنها مثل گلّه‌ای در دشتهای سرسبز آرامش عطا فرمود. او قوم خود را رهبری کرد و موجب سرافرازی اسم خود شد.

As a beast goeth down into the valley, the Spirit of the LORD caused him to rest: so didst thou lead thy people, to make thyself a glorious name.

ای خداوند از آسمان -‌از آن مکان مقدّس و پرجلال خود- برما نظر افکن. کجاست آن توجّه و غیرت تو؟ کجاست قدرت تو؟ کجاست آن محبّت و رحمت تو؟ آیا ما را فراموش کرده‌ای؟

Look down from heaven, and behold from the habitation of thy holiness and of thy glory: where is thy zeal and thy strength, the sounding of thy bowels and of thy mercies toward me? are they restrained?

تو پدر ما هستی. اجداد ما، ابراهیم و یعقوب دیگر ما را نمی‌شناسند، امّا تو ای خداوند پدر ما هستی، کسی‌که همیشه ما را نجات داده است.

Doubtless thou art our father, though Abraham be ignorant of us, and Israel acknowledge us not: thou, O LORD, art our father, our redeemer; thy name is from everlasting.

چرا اجازه می‌دهی از راه تو منحرف شویم؟ چرا اجازه می‌دهی، آن‌قدر خود رأی شویم که از تو روی برگردانیم؟ ای خداوند به‌خاطر کسانی‌که به تو خدمت می‌کنند، و به‌خاطر قومی که همیشه به تو تعلّق داشته‌اند، بازگرد.

O LORD, why hast thou made us to err from thy ways, and hardened our heart from thy fear? Return for thy servants' sake, the tribes of thine inheritance.

ما -‌قوم مقدّس تو- برای زمانی کوتاه به وسیلهٔ دشمنان تو رانده شده بودیم. آنها معبد مقدّس تو را پایمال کردند.

The people of thy holiness have possessed it but a little while: our adversaries have trodden down thy sanctuary.

تو با ما چنان رفتار می‌کنی که گویی تو هیچ‌وقت حاکم نبودی و ما هیچ‌وقت قوم تو نبودیم.

We are thine: thou never barest rule over them; they were not called by thy name.
