Habakkuk 2

На стражата си ще застана и на кулата ще се изправя и ще се взирам, за да видя какво ще ми говори Той и какво да отговоря на укора си.

I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what he will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved.

И ГОСПОД ми отговори и каза: Напиши видението и го изложи ясно на плочи, за да може да се чете лесно.

And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.

Защото видението се отнася за определено време, бърза към края и няма да излъже. Ако се бави, чакай го, защото непременно ще дойде, няма да закъснее.

For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.

Ето, душата му се надигна, не е права в него. А праведният чрез вярата си ще живее.

Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith.

Освен това виното е коварно. Горделивият човек не стои мирен, той разширява желанието си като Шеол и като смъртта не се насища, и трупа при себе си всичките народи, и събира при себе си всичките племена.

Yea also, because he transgresseth by wine, he is a proud man, neither keepeth at home, who enlargeth his desire as hell, and is as death, and cannot be satisfied, but gathereth unto him all nations, and heapeth unto him all people:

Няма ли всички тези да надигнат притча против него, подигравателна песен в гатанки за него, като кажат: Горко на онзи, който умножава каквото не е негово — докога? — и се товари със залози!

Shall not all these take up a parable against him, and a taunting proverb against him, and say, Woe to him that increaseth that which is not his! how long? and to him that ladeth himself with thick clay!

Няма ли да станат внезапно онези, които те хапят, и да се надигнат онези, които ще те разтреперят? И ти ще им станеш плячка.

Shall they not rise up suddenly that shall bite thee, and awake that shall vex thee, and thou shalt be for booties unto them?

Понеже ти обра много народи, всички останали от племената ще те оберат заради кръвта на хората и насилието над земята, над града и над всичките му жители.

Because thou hast spoiled many nations, all the remnant of the people shall spoil thee; because of men's blood, and for the violence of the land, of the city, and of all that dwell therein.

Горко на онзи, който придобива със зло неправедна печалба за дома си, за да постави гнездото си нависоко, за да се избави от ръката на бедствието!

Woe to him that coveteth an evil covetousness to his house, that he may set his nest on high, that he may be delivered from the power of evil!

Ти си замислил срам за дома си, като си изтребил много народи и си съгрешил против душата си.

Thou hast consulted shame to thy house by cutting off many people, and hast sinned against thy soul.

Защото камък от стената ще извика и греда от гредореда ще му отговори.

For the stone shall cry out of the wall, and the beam out of the timber shall answer it.

Горко на онзи, който гради град с кръв и утвърждава град с беззаконие!

Woe to him that buildeth a town with blood, and stablisheth a city by iniquity!

Ето, не е ли от ГОСПОДА на Войнствата, че племената се трудят за огъня и народите се мъчат за суета?

Behold, is it not of the LORD of hosts that the people shall labour in the very fire, and the people shall weary themselves for very vanity?

Защото земята ще бъде пълна с познаването на славата на ГОСПОДА, както водите покриват морето.

For the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.

Горко на онзи, който напива ближния си — на теб, който примесваш злобата си и ги опиваш, за да гледаш голотата им!

Woe unto him that giveth his neighbour drink, that puttest thy bottle to him, and makest him drunken also, that thou mayest look on their nakedness!

Наситил си се със срам вместо слава; пий и ти, и нека се открие краекожието ти! Чашата на десницата ГОСПОДНА ще се обърне към теб и гнусно безчестие ще покрие славата ти.

Thou art filled with shame for glory: drink thou also, and let thy foreskin be uncovered: the cup of the LORD'S right hand shall be turned unto thee, and shameful spewing shall be on thy glory.

Защото насилието над Ливан ще те покрие и изтребването на уплашените животни заради кръвта на хората и насилието над земята, над града и всичките му жители.

For the violence of Lebanon shall cover thee, and the spoil of beasts, which made them afraid, because of men's blood, and for the violence of the land, of the city, and of all that dwell therein.

Какво ползва изваяният идол, че го е изваял майсторът му? Или изленият идол, учител на лъжата, че който го е изработил, се уповава на изработката си, да прави неми идоли?

What profiteth the graven image that the maker thereof hath graven it; the molten image, and a teacher of lies, that the maker of his work trusteth therein, to make dumb idols?

Горко на онзи, който казва на дървото: Събуди се! — и на немия камък: Стани! Той ли ще го научи? Ето, той е обкован със злато и сребро и никакво дихание няма в него.

Woe unto him that saith to the wood, Awake; to the dumb stone, Arise, it shall teach! Behold, it is laid over with gold and silver, and there is no breath at all in the midst of it.

А ГОСПОД е в светия Си храм — мълчи пред Него, цяла земьо!

But the LORD is in his holy temple: let all the earth keep silence before him.
