Acts 6

А през тези дни, когато учениците се умножаваха, възникна недоволство сред гръцките юдеи срещу еврейските за това, че техните вдовици били пренебрегвани във всекидневното раздаване на помощите.

And in those days, when the number of the disciples was multiplied, there arose a murmuring of the Grecians against the Hebrews, because their widows were neglected in the daily ministration.

Тогава дванадесетте свикаха всичките ученици и казаха: Не е добре ние да оставим Божието слово и да прислужваме на трапези.

Then the twelve called the multitude of the disciples unto them, and said, It is not reason that we should leave the word of God, and serve tables.

Затова, братя, изберете измежду вас седем души с добро име, изпълнени с Духа и с мъдрост, които да поставим на тази работа.

Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business.

А ние ще постоянстваме в молитвата и в служението на словото.

But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.

И това предложение се хареса на цялото множество и избраха Стефан, мъж, пълен с вяра и със Светия Дух, и Филип, Прохор, Никанор, Тимон, Пармен и Николай, един прозелит от Антиохия,

And the saying pleased the whole multitude: and they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Ghost, and Philip, and Prochorus, and Nicanor, and Timon, and Parmenas, and Nicolas a proselyte of Antioch:

които поставиха пред апостолите; и те, като се помолиха, положиха ръце на тях.

Whom they set before the apostles: and when they had prayed, they laid their hands on them.

И Божието слово растеше и броят на учениците в Ерусалим се умножаваше твърде много; и голямо множество от свещениците се покоряваха на вярата.

And the word of God increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly; and a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith.

А Стефан, пълен с благодат и сила, вършеше големи чудеса и знамения сред народа.

And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and miracles among the people.

Тогава се надигнаха някои от синагогата, наречена синагога на либертинците, и от киринейците и александрийците, и някои от Киликия и Азия и спореха със Стефан.

Then there arose certain of the synagogue, which is called the synagogue of the Libertines, and Cyrenians, and Alexandrians, and of them of Cilicia and of Asia, disputing with Stephen.

Но не можаха да противостоят на мъдростта и Духа, с които той говореше.

And they were not able to resist the wisdom and the spirit by which he spake.

Тогава те тайно подучиха някои хора да кажат: Чухме го да говори хулни думи против Мойсей и против Бога.

Then they suborned men, which said, We have heard him speak blasphemous words against Moses, and against God.

И подбудиха народа, старейшините и книжниците и като го нападнаха, го уловиха и го докараха в Синедриона.

And they stirred up the people, and the elders, and the scribes, and came upon him, and caught him, and brought him to the council,

И поставиха лъжесвидетели, които казаха: Този човек непрестанно говори думи против това свято място и закона;

And set up false witnesses, which said, This man ceaseth not to speak blasphemous words against this holy place, and the law:

защото го чухме да казва, че този Иисус Назарянин ще разруши това място и ще измени обредите, които ни е предал Мойсей.

For we have heard him say, that this Jesus of Nazareth shall destroy this place, and shall change the customs which Moses delivered us.

И всички, които седяха в Синедриона, като се вгледаха в него, видяха, че лицето му беше като лице на ангел.

And all that sat in the council, looking stedfastly on him, saw his face as it had been the face of an angel.
