А филистимците взеха Божия ковчег и го занесоха от Евен-Езер в Азот.

And the Philistines took the ark of God, and brought it from Eben–ezer unto Ashdod.

И филистимците взеха Божия ковчег и го занесоха в дома на Дагон, и го поставиха до Дагон.

When the Philistines took the ark of God, they brought it into the house of Dagon, and set it by Dagon.

И когато азотяните станаха рано на следващата сутрин, ето, Дагон беше паднал по лице на земята пред ГОСПОДНИЯ ковчег. И те взеха Дагон и го поставиха отново на мястото му.

And when they of Ashdod arose early on the morrow, behold, Dagon was fallen upon his face to the earth before the ark of the LORD. And they took Dagon, and set him in his place again.

И когато станаха рано на следващата сутрин, ето, Дагон пак беше паднал по лице на земята пред ГОСПОДНИЯ ковчег. Главата на Дагон и двете длани на ръцете му бяха отсечени върху прага; само трупът на Дагон беше останал от него.

And when they arose early on the morrow morning, behold, Dagon was fallen upon his face to the ground before the ark of the LORD; and the head of Dagon and both the palms of his hands were cut off upon the threshold; only the stump of Dagon was left to him.

Затова и жреците на Дагон, и всички, които влизат в дома на Дагон, не стъпват на прага на Дагон в Азот и до днес.

Therefore neither the priests of Dagon, nor any that come into Dagon's house, tread on the threshold of Dagon in Ashdod unto this day.

Но ръката на ГОСПОДА натежа над азотяните, и Той ги съсипа, и ги порази с хемороиди — и Азот, и областта му.

But the hand of the LORD was heavy upon them of Ashdod, and he destroyed them, and smote them with emerods, even Ashdod and the coasts thereof.

И когато мъжете от Азот видяха, че стана така, казаха: Ковчегът на Израилевия Бог не бива да остава при нас, защото ръката Му тежи върху нас и върху нашия бог Дагон.

And when the men of Ashdod saw that it was so, they said, The ark of the God of Israel shall not abide with us: for his hand is sore upon us, and upon Dagon our god.

Затова те изпратиха и събраха при себе си всичките филистимски първенци, и казаха: Какво да направим с ковчега на Израилевия Бог? А те отговориха: Нека ковчегът на Израилевия Бог се отнесе в Гет. И те отнесоха ковчега на Израилевия Бог.

They sent therefore and gathered all the lords of the Philistines unto them, and said, What shall we do with the ark of the God of Israel? And they answered, Let the ark of the God of Israel be carried about unto Gath. And they carried the ark of the God of Israel about thither.

И когато го пренесоха, ръката на ГОСПОДА беше срещу града и го порази с много голям ужас. И Той порази хората на града от малък до голям, така че им избиха хемороиди.

And it was so, that, after they had carried it about, the hand of the LORD was against the city with a very great destruction: and he smote the men of the city, both small and great, and they had emerods in their secret parts.

И те изпратиха Божия ковчег в Акарон. И когато Божият ковчег дойде в Акарон, акаронците извикаха и казаха: Донесоха ковчега на Израилевия Бог при мен, за да убие и мен, и народа ми!

Therefore they sent the ark of God to Ekron. And it came to pass, as the ark of God came to Ekron, that the Ekronites cried out, saying, They have brought about the ark of the God of Israel to us, to slay us and our people.

Тогава те изпратиха да съберат всичките филистимски първенци и казаха: Изпратете ковчега на Израилевия Бог да се върне на мястото си, за да не убие мен и народа ми! Защото имаше смъртен ужас по целия град; Божията ръка беше много тежка там.

So they sent and gathered together all the lords of the Philistines, and said, Send away the ark of the God of Israel, and let it go again to his own place, that it slay us not, and our people: for there was a deadly destruction throughout all the city; the hand of God was very heavy there.

И хората, които не умряха, бяха поразени с хемороиди и викът на града се издигна до небето.

And the men that died not were smitten with the emerods: and the cry of the city went up to heaven.
