Isaiah 16

ملک کا جو حکمران ریگستان کے پار سلع میں ہے اُس کی طرف سے صیون بیٹی کے پہاڑ پر مینڈھا بھیج دو۔

Send ye the lamb to the ruler of the land from Sela to the wilderness, unto the mount of the daughter of Zion.

موآب کی بیٹیاں گھونسلے سے بھگائے ہوئے پرندوں کی طرح دریائے ارنون کے پایاب مقاموں پر اِدھر اُدھر پھڑپھڑا رہی ہیں۔

For it shall be, that, as a wandering bird cast out of the nest, so the daughters of Moab shall be at the fords of Arnon.

”ہمیں کوئی مشورہ دے، کوئی فیصلہ پیش کر۔ ہم پر سایہ ڈال تاکہ دوپہر کی تپتی دھوپ ہم پر نہ پڑے بلکہ رات جیسا اندھیرا ہو۔ مفروروں کو چھپا دے، دشمن کو پناہ گزینوں کے بارے میں اطلاع نہ دے۔

Take counsel, execute judgment; make thy shadow as the night in the midst of the noonday; hide the outcasts; bewray not him that wandereth.

موآبی مہاجروں کو اپنے پاس ٹھہرنے دے، موآبی مفروروں کے لئے پناہ گاہ ہو تاکہ وہ ہلاکو کے ہاتھ سے بچ جائیں۔“ لیکن ظالم کا انجام آنے والا ہے۔ تباہی کا سلسلہ ختم ہو جائے گا، اور کچلنے والا ملک سے غائب ہو جائے گا۔

Let mine outcasts dwell with thee, Moab; be thou a covert to them from the face of the spoiler: for the extortioner is at an end, the spoiler ceaseth, the oppressors are consumed out of the land.

تب اللہ اپنے فضل سے داؤد کے گھرانے کے لئے تخت قائم کرے گا۔ اور جو اُس پر بیٹھے گا وہ وفاداری سے حکومت کرے گا۔ وہ انصاف کا طالب رہ کر عدالت کرے گا اور راستی قائم رکھنے میں ماہر ہو گا۔

And in mercy shall the throne be established: and he shall sit upon it in truth in the tabernacle of David, judging, and seeking judgment, and hasting righteousness.

ہم نے موآب کے تکبر کے بارے میں سنا ہے، کیونکہ وہ حد سے زیادہ متکبر، مغرور، گھمنڈی اور شوخ چشم ہے۔ لیکن اُس کی ڈینگیں عبث ہیں۔

We have heard of the pride of Moab; he is very proud: even of his haughtiness, and his pride, and his wrath: but his lies shall not be so.

اِس لئے موآبی اپنے آپ پر آہ و زاری کر رہے، سب مل کر آہیں بھر رہے ہیں۔ وہ سسک سسک کر قیرحراست کی کشمش کی ٹکیاں یاد کر رہے ہیں، اُن کا نہایت بُرا حال ہو گیا ہے۔

Therefore shall Moab howl for Moab, every one shall howl: for the foundations of Kir–hareseth shall ye mourn; surely they are stricken.

حسبون کے باغ مُرجھا گئے، سِبماہ کے انگور ختم ہو گئے ہیں۔ پہلے تو اُن کی انوکھی بیلیں یعزیر بلکہ ریگستان تک پھیلی ہوئی تھیں، اُن کی کونپلیں سمندر کو بھی پار کرتی تھیں۔ لیکن اب غیرقوم حکمرانوں نے یہ عمدہ بیلیں توڑ ڈالی ہیں۔

For the fields of Heshbon languish, and the vine of Sibmah: the lords of the heathen have broken down the principal plants thereof, they are come even unto Jazer, they wandered through the wilderness: her branches are stretched out, they are gone over the sea.

اِس لئے مَیں یعزیر کے ساتھ مل کر سِبماہ کے انگوروں کے لئے آہ و زاری کر رہا ہوں۔ اے حسبون، اے اِلی عالی، تمہاری حالت دیکھ کر میرے بےحد آنسو بہہ رہے ہیں۔ کیونکہ جب تمہارا پھل پک گیا اور تمہاری فصل تیار ہوئی تب جنگ کے نعرے تمہارے علاقے میں گونج اُٹھے۔

Therefore I will bewail with the weeping of Jazer the vine of Sibmah: I will water thee with my tears, O Heshbon, and Elealeh: for the shouting for thy summer fruits and for thy harvest is fallen.

اب خوشی و شادمانی باغوں سے غائب ہو گئی ہے، انگور کے باغوں میں گیت اور خوشی کے نعرے بند ہو گئے ہیں۔ کوئی نہیں رہا جو حوضوں میں انگور کو روند کر رس نکالے، کیونکہ مَیں نے فصل کی خوشیاں ختم کر دی ہیں۔

And gladness is taken away, and joy out of the plentiful field; and in the vineyards there shall be no singing, neither shall there be shouting: the treaders shall tread out no wine in their presses; I have made their vintage shouting to cease.

میرا دل سرود کے ماتمی سُر نکال کر موآب کے لئے نوحہ کر رہا ہے، میری جان قیرحراست کے لئے آہیں بھر رہی ہے۔

Wherefore my bowels shall sound like an harp for Moab, and mine inward parts for Kir–haresh.

جب موآب اپنی پہاڑی قربان گاہ کے سامنے حاضر ہو کر سجدہ کرتا ہے تو بےکار محنت کرتا ہے۔ جب وہ پوجا کرنے کے لئے اپنے مندر میں داخل ہوتا ہے تو فائدہ کوئی نہیں ہوتا۔

And it shall come to pass, when it is seen that Moab is weary on the high place, that he shall come to his sanctuary to pray; but he shall not prevail.

رب نے ماضی میں اِن باتوں کا اعلان کیا۔

This is the word that the LORD hath spoken concerning Moab since that time.

لیکن اب وہ مزید فرماتا ہے، ”تین سال کے اندر اندر موآب کی تمام شان و شوکت اور دھوم دھام جاتی رہے گی۔ جو تھوڑے بہت بچیں گے، وہ نہایت ہی کم ہوں گے۔“

But now the LORD hath spoken, saying, Within three years, as the years of an hireling, and the glory of Moab shall be contemned, with all that great multitude; and the remnant shall be very small and feeble.
