Haggai 2

اُسی سال کے ساتویں مہینے کے 21ویں دن حجی نبی پر رب کا کلام نازل ہوا،

In the seventh month, in the one and twentieth day of the month, came the word of the LORD by the prophet Haggai, saying,

”یہوداہ کے گورنر زرُبابل بن سیالتی ایل، امامِ اعظم یشوع بن یہوصدق اور قوم کے بچے ہوئے حصے کو بتا دینا،

Speak now to Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, and to the residue of the people, saying,

’تم میں سے کس کو یاد ہے کہ رب کا گھر تباہ ہونے سے پہلے کتنا شاندار تھا؟ جو اِس وقت اُس کی جگہ تعمیر ہو رہا ہے وہ تمہیں کیسا لگتا ہے؟ رب کے پہلے گھر کی نسبت یہ کچھ بھی نہیں لگتا۔

Who is left among you that saw this house in her first glory? and how do ye see it now? is it not in your eyes in comparison of it as nothing?

لیکن رب فرماتا ہے کہ اے زرُبابل، حوصلہ رکھ! اے امامِ اعظم یشوع بن یہوصدق حوصلہ رکھ! اے ملک کے تمام باشندو، حوصلہ رکھ کر اپنا کام جاری رکھو۔ کیونکہ رب الافواج فرماتا ہے کہ مَیں تمہارے ساتھ ہوں۔

Yet now be strong, O Zerubbabel, saith the LORD; and be strong, O Joshua, son of Josedech, the high priest; and be strong, all ye people of the land, saith the LORD, and work: for I am with you, saith the LORD of hosts:

جو عہد مَیں نے مصر سے نکلتے وقت تم سے باندھا تھا وہ قائم رہے گا۔ میرا روح تمہارے درمیان ہی رہے گا۔ ڈرو مت!

According to the word that I covenanted with you when ye came out of Egypt, so my spirit remaineth among you: fear ye not.

رب الافواج فرماتا ہے کہ تھوڑی دیر کے بعد مَیں ایک بار پھر آسمان و زمین اور بحر و بر کو ہلا دوں گا۔

For thus saith the LORD of hosts; Yet once, it is a little while, and I will shake the heavens, and the earth, and the sea, and the dry land;

تب تمام اقوام لرز اُٹھیں گی، اُن کے بیش قیمت خزانے اِدھر لائے جائیں گے، اور مَیں اِس گھر کو اپنے جلال سے بھر دوں گا۔

And I will shake all nations, and the desire of all nations shall come: and I will fill this house with glory, saith the LORD of hosts.

رب الافواج فرماتا ہے کہ چاندی میری ہے اور سونا میرا ہے۔

The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, saith the LORD of hosts.

نیا گھر پرانے گھر سے کہیں زیادہ شاندار ہو گا، اور مَیں اِس جگہ کو سلامتی عطا کروں گا۔‘ یہ رب الافواج کا فرمان ہے۔“

The glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former, saith the LORD of hosts: and in this place will I give peace, saith the LORD of hosts.

دارا بادشاہ کی حکومت کے دوسرے سال میں حجی پر رب کا ایک اَور کلام نازل ہوا۔ نویں مہینے کا 24واں دن تھا۔

In the four and twentieth day of the ninth month, in the second year of Darius, came the word of the LORD by Haggai the prophet, saying,

”رب الافواج فرماتا ہے، ’اماموں سے سوال کر کہ شریعت ذیل کے معاملے کے بارے میں کیا فرماتی ہے،

Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Ask now the priests concerning the law, saying,

اگر کوئی شخص مخصوص و مُقدّس گوشت اپنی جھولی میں ڈال کر کہیں لے جائے اور راستے میں جھولی مَے، زیتون کے تیل، روٹی یا مزید کسی کھانے والی چیز سے لگ جائے تو کیا کھانے والی یہ چیز گوشت سے مخصوص و مُقدّس ہو جاتی ہے‘؟“ حجی نے اماموں کو یہ سوال پیش کیا تو اُنہوں نے جواب دیا، ”نہیں۔“

If one bear holy flesh in the skirt of his garment, and with his skirt do touch bread, or pottage, or wine, or oil, or any meat, shall it be holy? And the priests answered and said, No.

تب اُس نے مزید پوچھا، ”اگر کوئی کسی لاش کو چھونے سے ناپاک ہو کر اِن کھانے والی چیزوں میں سے کچھ چھوئے تو کیا کھانے والی چیز اُس سے ناپاک ہو جاتی ہے؟“ اماموں نے جواب دیا، ”جی ہاں۔“

Then said Haggai, If one that is unclean by a dead body touch any of these, shall it be unclean? And the priests answered and said, It shall be unclean.

پھر حجی نے کہا، ”رب فرماتا ہے کہ میری نظر میں اِس قوم کا یہی حال ہے۔ جو کچھ بھی یہ کرتے اور قربان کرتے ہیں وہ ناپاک ہے۔

Then answered Haggai, and said, So is this people, and so is this nation before me, saith the LORD; and so is every work of their hands; and that which they offer there is unclean.

لیکن اب اِس بات پر دھیان دو کہ آج سے حالات کیسے ہوں گے۔ رب کے گھر کی نئے سرے سے بنیاد رکھنے سے پہلے حالات کیسے تھے؟

And now, I pray you, consider from this day and upward, from before a stone was laid upon a stone in the temple of the LORD:

جہاں تم فصل کی 20 بوریوں کی اُمید رکھتے تھے وہاں صرف 10 حاصل ہوئیں۔ جہاں تم انگوروں کو کچل کر رس کے 100 لٹر کی توقع رکھتے تھے وہاں صرف 40 لٹر نکلے۔“

Since those days were, when one came to an heap of twenty measures, there were but ten: when one came to the pressfat for to draw out fifty vessels out of the press, there were but twenty.

رب فرماتا ہے، ”تیری محنت مشقت ضائع ہوئی، کیونکہ مَیں نے پَت روگ، پھپھوندی اور اولوں سے تمہاری پیداوار کو نقصان پہنچایا۔ توبھی تم نے توبہ کر کے میری طرف رجوع نہ کیا۔

I smote you with blasting and with mildew and with hail in all the labours of your hands; yet ye turned not to me, saith the LORD.

لیکن اب توجہ دو کہ تمہارا حال آج یعنی نویں مہینے کے 24ویں دن سے کیسا ہو گا۔ اِس دن رب کے گھر کی بنیاد رکھی گئی، اِس لئے غور کرو

Consider now from this day and upward, from the four and twentieth day of the ninth month, even from the day that the foundation of the LORD'S temple was laid, consider it.

کہ کیا آئندہ بھی گودام میں جمع شدہ بیج ضائع ہو جائے گا، کہ کیا آئندہ بھی انگور، انجیر، انار اور زیتون کا پھل نہ ہونے کے برابر ہو گا۔ کیونکہ آج سے مَیں تمہیں برکت دوں گا۔“

Is the seed yet in the barn? yea, as yet the vine, and the fig tree, and the pomegranate, and the olive tree, hath not brought forth: from this day will I bless you.

اُسی دن حجی پر رب کا ایک اَور کلام نازل ہوا،

And again the word of the LORD came unto Haggai in the four and twentieth day of the month, saying,

”یہوداہ کے گورنر زرُبابل کو بتا دے کہ مَیں آسمان و زمین کو ہلا دوں گا۔

Speak to Zerubbabel, governor of Judah, saying, I will shake the heavens and the earth;

مَیں شاہی تختوں کو اُلٹ کر اجنبی سلطنتوں کی طاقت تباہ کر دوں گا۔ مَیں رتھوں کو اُن کے رتھ بانوں سمیت اُلٹ دوں گا، اور گھوڑے اپنے سواروں سمیت گر جائیں گے۔ ہر ایک اپنے بھائی کی تلوار سے مرے گا۔“

And I will overthrow the throne of kingdoms, and I will destroy the strength of the kingdoms of the heathen; and I will overthrow the chariots, and those that ride in them; and the horses and their riders shall come down, every one by the sword of his brother.

رب الافواج فرماتا ہے، ”اُس دن مَیں تجھے، اپنے خادم زرُبابل بن سیالتی ایل کو لے کر مُہر کی انگوٹھی کی مانند بنا دوں گا، کیونکہ مَیں نے تجھے چن لیا ہے۔“ یہ رب الافواج کا فرمان ہے۔

In that day, saith the LORD of hosts, will I take thee, O Zerubbabel, my servant, the son of Shealtiel, saith the LORD, and will make thee as a signet: for I have chosen thee, saith the LORD of hosts.
