II Chronicles 26

یہوداہ کے تمام لوگوں نے اَمصیاہ کی جگہ اُس کے بیٹے عُزیّاہ کو تخت پر بٹھا دیا۔ اُس کی عمر 16 سال تھی

Then all the people of Judah took Uzziah, who was sixteen years old, and made him king in the room of his father Amaziah.

جب اُس کا باپ مر کر اپنے باپ دادا سے جا ملا۔ بادشاہ بننے کے بعد عُزیّاہ نے ایلات شہر پر قبضہ کر کے اُسے دوبارہ یہوداہ کا حصہ بنا لیا۔ اُس نے شہر میں بہت تعمیری کام کروایا۔

He built Eloth, and restored it to Judah, after that the king slept with his fathers.

عُزیّاہ 16 سال کی عمر میں بادشاہ بنا اور یروشلم میں رہ کر 52 سال حکومت کرتا رہا۔ اُس کی ماں یکولیاہ یروشلم کی رہنے والی تھی۔

Sixteen years old was Uzziah when he began to reign, and he reigned fifty and two years in Jerusalem. His mother's name also was Jecoliah of Jerusalem.

اپنے باپ اَمصیاہ کی طرح اُس کا چال چلن رب کو پسند تھا۔

And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD, according to all that his father Amaziah did.

امامِ اعظم زکریاہ کے جیتے جی عُزیّاہ رب کا طالب رہا، کیونکہ زکریاہ اُسے اللہ کا خوف ماننے کی تعلیم دیتا رہا۔ جب تک بادشاہ رب کا طالب رہا اُس وقت تک اللہ اُسے کامیابی بخشتا رہا۔

And he sought God in the days of Zechariah, who had understanding in the visions of God: and as long as he sought the LORD, God made him to prosper.

عُزیّاہ نے فلستیوں سے جنگ کر کے جات، یبنہ اور اشدود کی فصیلوں کو ڈھا دیا۔ دیگر کئی شہروں کو اُس نے نئے سرے سے تعمیر کیا جو اشدود کے قریب اور فلستیوں کے باقی علاقے میں تھے۔

And he went forth and warred against the Philistines, and brake down the wall of Gath, and the wall of Jabneh, and the wall of Ashdod, and built cities about Ashdod, and among the Philistines.

لیکن اللہ نے نہ صرف فلستیوں سے لڑتے وقت عُزیّاہ کی مدد کی بلکہ اُس وقت بھی جب جور بعل میں رہنے والے عربوں اور معونیوں سے جنگ چھڑ گئی۔

And God helped him against the Philistines, and against the Arabians that dwelt in Gur–baal, and the Mehunims.

عمونیوں کو عُزیّاہ کو خراج ادا کرنا پڑا، اور وہ اِتنا طاقت ور بنا کہ اُس کی شہرت مصر تک پھیل گئی۔

And the Ammonites gave gifts to Uzziah: and his name spread abroad even to the entering in of Egypt; for he strengthened himself exceedingly.

یروشلم میں عُزیّاہ نے کونے کے دروازے، وادی کے دروازے اور فصیل کے موڑ پر مضبوط بُرج بنوائے۔

Moreover Uzziah built towers in Jerusalem at the corner gate, and at the valley gate, and at the turning of the wall, and fortified them.

اُس نے بیابان میں بھی بُرج تعمیر کئے اور ساتھ ساتھ پتھر کے بےشمار حوض تراشے، کیونکہ مغربی یہوداہ کے نشیبی پہاڑی علاقے اور میدانی علاقے میں اُس کے بڑے بڑے ریوڑ چرتے تھے۔ بادشاہ کو کاشت کاری کا کام خاص پسند تھا۔ بہت لوگ پہاڑی علاقوں اور زرخیز وادیوں میں اُس کے کھیتوں اور انگور کے باغوں کی نگرانی کرتے تھے۔

Also he built towers in the desert, and digged many wells: for he had much cattle, both in the low country, and in the plains: husbandmen also, and vine dressers in the mountains, and in Carmel: for he loved husbandry.

عُزیّاہ کی طاقت ور فوج تھی۔ بادشاہ کے اعلیٰ افسر حننیاہ کی راہنمائی میں میرمنشی یعی ایل نے افسر معسیاہ کے ساتھ فوج کی بھرتی کر کے اُسے ترتیب دیا تھا۔

Moreover Uzziah had an host of fighting men, that went out to war by bands, according to the number of their account by the hand of Jeiel the scribe and Maaseiah the ruler, under the hand of Hananiah, one of the king's captains.

اِن دستوں پر کنبوں کے 2,600 سرپرست مقرر تھے۔

The whole number of the chief of the fathers of the mighty men of valour were two thousand and six hundred.

فوج 3,07,500 جنگ لڑنے کے قابل مردوں پر مشتمل تھی۔ جنگ میں بادشاہ اُن پر پورا بھروسا کر سکتا تھا۔

And under their hand was an army, three hundred thousand and seven thousand and five hundred, that made war with mighty power, to help the king against the enemy.

عُزیّاہ نے اپنے تمام فوجیوں کو ڈھالوں، نیزوں، خودوں، زرہ بکتروں، کمانوں اور فلاخن کے سامان سے مسلح کیا۔

And Uzziah prepared for them throughout all the host shields, and spears, and helmets, and habergeons, and bows, and slings to cast stones.

اور یروشلم کے بُرجوں اور فصیل کے کونوں پر اُس نے ایسی مشینیں لگائیں جو تیر چلا سکتی اور بڑے بڑے پتھر پھینک سکتی تھیں۔ غرض، اللہ کی مدد سے عُزیّاہ کی شہرت دُور دُور تک پھیل گئی، اور اُس کی طاقت بڑھتی گئی۔

And he made in Jerusalem engines, invented by cunning men, to be on the towers and upon the bulwarks, to shoot arrows and great stones withal. And his name spread far abroad; for he was marvellously helped, till he was strong.

لیکن اِس طاقت نے اُسے مغرور کر دیا، اور نتیجے میں وہ غلط راہ پر آ گیا۔ رب اپنے خدا کا بےوفا ہو کر وہ ایک دن رب کے گھر میں گھس گیا تاکہ بخور کی قربان گاہ پر بخور جلائے۔

But when he was strong, his heart was lifted up to his destruction: for he transgressed against the LORD his God, and went into the temple of the LORD to burn incense upon the altar of incense.

لیکن امامِ اعظم عزریاہ رب کے مزید 80 بہادر اماموں کو اپنے ساتھ لے کر اُس کے پیچھے پیچھے گیا۔

And Azariah the priest went in after him, and with him fourscore priests of the LORD, that were valiant men:

اُنہوں نے بادشاہ عُزیّاہ کا سامنا کر کے کہا، ”مناسب نہیں کہ آپ رب کو بخور کی قربانی پیش کریں۔ یہ ہارون کی اولاد یعنی اماموں کی ذمہ داری ہے جنہیں اِس کے لئے مخصوص کیا گیا ہے۔ مقدِس سے نکل جائیں، کیونکہ آپ اللہ سے بےوفا ہو گئے ہیں، اور آپ کی یہ حرکت رب خدا کے سامنے عزت کا باعث نہیں بنے گی۔“

And they withstood Uzziah the king, and said unto him, It appertaineth not unto thee, Uzziah, to burn incense unto the LORD, but to the priests the sons of Aaron, that are consecrated to burn incense: go out of the sanctuary; for thou hast trespassed; neither shall it be for thine honour from the LORD God.

عُزیّاہ بخوردان کو پکڑے بخور کو پیش کرنے کو تھا کہ اماموں کی باتیں سن کر آگ بگولا ہو گیا۔ لیکن اُسی لمحے اُس کے ماتھے پر کوڑھ پھوٹ نکلا۔

Then Uzziah was wroth, and had a censer in his hand to burn incense: and while he was wroth with the priests, the leprosy even rose up in his forehead before the priests in the house of the LORD, from beside the incense altar.

یہ دیکھ کر امامِ اعظم عزریاہ اور دیگر اماموں نے اُسے جلدی سے رب کے گھر سے نکال دیا۔ عُزیّاہ نے خود بھی وہاں سے نکلنے کی جلدی کی، کیونکہ رب ہی نے اُسے سزا دی تھی۔

And Azariah the chief priest, and all the priests, looked upon him, and, behold, he was leprous in his forehead, and they thrust him out from thence; yea, himself hasted also to go out, because the LORD had smitten him.

عُزیّاہ جیتے جی اِس بیماری سے شفا نہ پا سکا۔ اُسے علیٰحدہ گھر میں رہنا پڑا، اور اُسے رب کے گھر میں داخل ہونے کی اجازت نہیں تھی۔ اُس کے بیٹے یوتام کو محل پر مقرر کیا گیا، اور وہی اُمّت پر حکومت کرنے لگا۔

And Uzziah the king was a leper unto the day of his death, and dwelt in a several house, being a leper; for he was cut off from the house of the LORD: and Jotham his son was over the king's house, judging the people of the land.

باقی جو کچھ عُزیّاہ کی حکومت کے دوران شروع سے لے کر آخر تک ہوا وہ آموص کے بیٹے یسعیاہ نبی نے قلم بند کیا ہے۔

Now the rest of the acts of Uzziah, first and last, did Isaiah the prophet, the son of Amoz, write.

جب عُزیّاہ مر کر اپنے باپ دادا سے جا ملا تو اُسے کوڑھ کی وجہ سے دوسرے بادشاہوں کے ساتھ نہیں دفنایا گیا بلکہ قریب کے ایک کھیت میں جو شاہی خاندان کا تھا۔ پھر اُس کا بیٹا یوتام تخت نشین ہوا۔

So Uzziah slept with his fathers, and they buried him with his fathers in the field of the burial which belonged to the kings; for they said, He is a leper: and Jotham his son reigned in his stead.
