I Chronicles 29

Τοτε ειπεν ο βασιλευς Δαβιδ προς πασαν την συναξιν, Σολομων ο υιος μου, τον οποιον μονον εξελεξεν ο Θεος, ειναι ετι νεος και απαλος το δε εργον μεγα διοτι δεν ειναι δια ανθρωπον η οικοδομη, αλλα δια Κυριον τον Θεον.

Furthermore David the king said unto all the congregation, Solomon my son, whom alone God hath chosen, is yet young and tender, and the work is great: for the palace is not for man, but for the LORD God.

Εγω λοιπον ητοιμασα καθ ολην την δυναμιν μου δια τον οικον του Θεου μου, τον χρυσον δια τα χρυσα και τον αργυρον δια τα αργυρα και τον χαλκον δια τα χαλκινα, τον σιδηρον δια τα σιδηρα και ξυλα δια τα ξυλινα, ονυχιτας λιθους και λιθους ενθεσεως, λιθους λαμπρους και ποικιλους και παντος ειδους πολυτιμους λιθους και μαρμαρα αφθονα.

Now I have prepared with all my might for the house of my God the gold for things to be made of gold, and the silver for things of silver, and the brass for things of brass, the iron for things of iron, and wood for things of wood; onyx stones, and stones to be set, glistering stones, and of divers colours, and all manner of precious stones, and marble stones in abundance.

Και ετι δια τον ποθον μου εις τον οικον του Θεου μου, και εκ των ιδιων μου υπαρχοντων εδωκα περιπλεον χρυσιον και αργυριον δια τον οικον του Θεου μου, εκτος παντος εκεινου το οποιον ητοιμασα δια τον οικον τον αγιον

Moreover, because I have set my affection to the house of my God, I have of mine own proper good, of gold and silver, which I have given to the house of my God, over and above all that I have prepared for the holy house,

τρεις χιλιαδας ταλαντα χρυσιου, εκ του χρυσιου Οφειρ, και επτα χιλιαδας ταλαντα κεκαθαρισμενου αργυριου, δια να περισκεπασωσι τους τοιχους των οικων

Even three thousand talents of gold, of the gold of Ophir, and seven thousand talents of refined silver, to overlay the walls of the houses withal:

το χρυσιον δια τα χρυσα, και το αργυριον δια τα αργυρα, και δια πασαν εργασιαν γινομενην δια των χειρων των τεχνιτων. Τις λοιπον προθυμειται να καμη σημερον προσφοραν εις τον Κυριον;

The gold for things of gold, and the silver for things of silver, and for all manner of work to be made by the hands of artificers. And who then is willing to consecrate his service this day unto the LORD?

Τοτε οι αρχοντες των πατριων και οι αρχοντες των φυλων του Ισραηλ και οι χιλιαρχοι και οι εκατονταρχοι και οι επισταται των εργων του βασιλεως, επροθυμηθησαν

Then the chief of the fathers and princes of the tribes of Israel, and the captains of thousands and of hundreds, with the rulers of the king's work, offered willingly,

και εδωκαν δια το εργον του οικου του Θεου, χρυσιου πεντακισχιλια ταλαντα και δεκα χιλιαδας χρυσων, και αργυριου δεκα χιλιαδας ταλαντων, και χαλκου δεκαοκτω χιλιαδας ταλαντων, και εκατον χιλιαδας ταλαντων σιδηρου.

And gave for the service of the house of God of gold five thousand talents and ten thousand drams, and of silver ten thousand talents, and of brass eighteen thousand talents, and one hundred thousand talents of iron.

Και εις οσους ευρεθησαν λιθοι τιμιοι, εδωκαν αυτους εις το θησαυροφυλακιον του οικου του Κυριου δια χειρος Ιεχιηλ του Γηρσωνιτου.

And they with whom precious stones were found gave them to the treasure of the house of the LORD, by the hand of Jehiel the Gershonite.

Εχαρη δε ο λαος, διοτι επροθυμηθησαν, επειδη με πληρη καρδιαν προσεφεραν αυτοπροαιρετως εις τον Κυριον και ο βασιλευς Δαβιδ ετι εχαρη χαραν μεγαλην.

Then the people rejoiced, for that they offered willingly, because with perfect heart they offered willingly to the LORD: and David the king also rejoiced with great joy.

Και ευλογησεν ο Δαβιδ τον Κυριον ενωπιον πασης της συναξεως και ειπεν ο Δαβιδ, Ευλογητος συ, Κυριε ο Θεος του Ισραηλ, ο πατηρ ημων, απο του αιωνος και εως του αιωνος.

Wherefore David blessed the LORD before all the congregation: and David said, Blessed be thou, LORD God of Israel our father, for ever and ever.

Σου, Κυριε, ειναι η μεγαλωσυνη και η δυναμις και η τιμη και η νικη και η δοξα διοτι σου ειναι παντα τα εν ουρανω και τα επι γης σου η βασιλεια, Κυριε, και συ εισαι ο υψουμενος ως κεφαλη υπερανω παντων

Thine, O LORD, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O LORD, and thou art exalted as head above all.

και ο πλουτος και η δοξα παρα σου ερχονται, και συ δεσποζεις των απαντων και εις την χειρα σου ειναι η ισχυς και η δυναμις και εις την χειρα σου το να μεγαλυνης και να ισχυροποιης τα παντα.

Both riches and honour come of thee, and thou reignest over all; and in thine hand is power and might; and in thine hand it is to make great, and to give strength unto all.

Τωρα λοιπον, Θεε ημων, ημεις ευχαριστουμεν σε και υμνουμεν το ενδοξον ονομα σου.

Now therefore, our God, we thank thee, and praise thy glorious name.

Αλλα τις ειμαι εγω, και τις ο λαος μου, ωστε να δυνηθωμεν να προσφερωμεν προθυμως εις σε κατα ταυτα; διοτι τα παντα ερχονται εκ σου και εκ των σων διδομεν εις σε.

But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to offer so willingly after this sort? for all things come of thee, and of thine own have we given thee.

Διοτι ειμεθα ξενοι ενωπιον σου και παροικοι, καθως παντες οι πατερες ημων αι ημεραι ημων επι της γης ειναι ως σκια, και μονιμοτης δεν υπαρχει.

For we are strangers before thee, and sojourners, as were all our fathers: our days on the earth are as a shadow, and there is none abiding.

Κυριε Θεε ημων, απαν τουτο το πληθος, το οποιον ητοιμασαμεν δια να οικοδομησωμεν οικον εις σε δια το ονομα σου το αγιον, εκ της χειρος σου ερχεται, και σου ειναι τα παντα.

O LORD our God, all this store that we have prepared to build thee an house for thine holy name cometh of thine hand, and is all thine own.

Και γνωριζω, Θεε μου, οτι συ εισαι ο δοκιμαζων την καρδιαν και αρεσκεσαι εις την ευθυτητα. Εγω εν ευθυτητι της καρδιας μου προσεφερα παντα ταυτα και τωρα ειδον μετ ευφροσυνης τον λαον σου, τον ενταυθα παροντα, οτι αυτοπροαιρετως προσφερει εις σε.

I know also, my God, that thou triest the heart, and hast pleasure in uprightness. As for me, in the uprightness of mine heart I have willingly offered all these things: and now have I seen with joy thy people, which are present here, to offer willingly unto thee.

Κυριε Θεε του Αβρααμ, του Ισαακ και του Ισραηλ, των πατερων ημων, φυλαττε τουτο δια παντος εις τους διαλογισμους της καρδιας του λαου σου, και κατευθυνε την καρδιαν αυτων προς σε

O LORD God of Abraham, Isaac, and of Israel, our fathers, keep this for ever in the imagination of the thoughts of the heart of thy people, and prepare their heart unto thee:

και δος εις τον Σολομωντα τον υιον μου καρδιαν τελειαν, δια να φυλαττη τας εντολας σου, τα μαρτυρια σου και τα προσταγματα σου, και να εκτελη τα παντα και να κατασκευαση την οικοδομην, την οποιαν προητοιμασα.

And give unto Solomon my son a perfect heart, to keep thy commandments, thy testimonies, and thy statutes, and to do all these things, and to build the palace, for the which I have made provision.

Και ειπεν ο Δαβιδ προς πασαν την συναξιν, Ευλογησατε τωρα Κυριον τον Θεον σας. Και πασα η συναξις ευλογησε Κυριον τον Θεον των πατερων αυτων και κυψαντες, προσεκυνησαν τον Κυριον και τον βασιλεα.

And David said to all the congregation, Now bless the LORD your God. And all the congregation blessed the LORD God of their fathers, and bowed down their heads, and worshipped the LORD, and the king.

Και την ακολουθον ημεραν εθυσιασαν θυσιας εις τον Κυριον και προσεφεραν ολοκαυτωματα προς τον Κυριον, χιλιους μοσχους, χιλιους κριους, χιλια αρνια, και τας σπονδας αυτων και θυσιας αφθονους δια παντα τον Ισραηλ

And they sacrificed sacrifices unto the LORD, and offered burnt offerings unto the LORD, on the morrow after that day, even a thousand bullocks, a thousand rams, and a thousand lambs, with their drink offerings, and sacrifices in abundance for all Israel:

και εφαγον και επιον ενωπιον του Κυριου την ημεραν εκεινην, εν χαρα μεγαλη. Και εκηρυξαν εκ δευτερου Σολομωντα τον υιον του Δαβιδ βασιλεα, και εχρισαν αυτον εις τον Κυριον, δια να ηναι αρχων, και τον Σαδωκ δια ιερεα.

And did eat and drink before the LORD on that day with great gladness. And they made Solomon the son of David king the second time, and anointed him unto the LORD to be the chief governor, and Zadok to be priest.

Τοτε ο Σολομων εκαθησεν επι του θρονου του Κυριου βασιλευς αντι Δαβιδ του πατρος αυτου, και ευημερησε και πας ο Ισραηλ υπηκουσεν εις αυτον.

Then Solomon sat on the throne of the LORD as king instead of David his father, and prospered; and all Israel obeyed him.

Και παντες οι αρχοντες και οι δυνατοι και παντες ετι οι υιοι του βασιλεως Δαβιδ υπεταχθησαν εις Σολομωντα τον βασιλεα.

And all the princes, and the mighty men, and all the sons likewise of king David, submitted themselves unto Solomon the king.

Και εμεγαλυνεν ο Κυριος εις ακρον τον Σολομωντα εμπροσθεν παντος του Ισραηλ, και εθεσεν επ αυτον μεγαλειοτητα βασιλικην, οποια δεν εσταθη εις ουδενα βασιλεα προ αυτου εν τω Ισραηλ.

And the LORD magnified Solomon exceedingly in the sight of all Israel, and bestowed upon him such royal majesty as had not been on any king before him in Israel.

Ουτω Δαβιδ ο υιος του Ιεσσαι εβασιλευσεν επι παντα τον Ισραηλ

Thus David the son of Jesse reigned over all Israel.

και ο καιρος τον οποιον εβασιλευσεν επι τον Ισραηλ ητο τεσσαρακοντα ετη επτα ετη εβασιλευσεν εν Χεβρων και τριακοντα τρια εβασιλευσεν εν Ιερουσαλημ.

And the time that he reigned over Israel was forty years; seven years reigned he in Hebron, and thirty and three years reigned he in Jerusalem.

Και ετελευτησεν εις γηρας καλον, πληρης ημερων, πλουτου και δοξης και εβασιλευσεν αντ αυτου Σολομων ο υιος αυτου.

And he died in a good old age, full of days, riches, and honour: and Solomon his son reigned in his stead.

Αι δε πραξεις του βασιλεως Δαβιδ, αι πρωται και αι τελευταιαι ιδου, ειναι γεγραμμεναι εν τω βιβλιω Σαμουηλ του βλεποντος, και εν τω βιβλιω Ναθαν του προφητου, και εν τω βιβλιω Γαδ του βλεποντος,

Now the acts of David the king, first and last, behold, they are written in the book of Samuel the seer, and in the book of Nathan the prophet, and in the book of Gad the seer,

μετα πασης αυτου της βασιλειας και της δυναμεως αυτου και των καιρων, οιτινες παρηλθον επ αυτον και επι τον Ισραηλ και επι πασας τας βασιλειας της γης.

With all his reign and his might, and the times that went over him, and over Israel, and over all the kingdoms of the countries.
