Micah 2

Woe to them that devise iniquity, and work evil upon their beds! when the morning is light, they practise it, because it is in the power of their hand.

اُن پر افسوس جو دوسروں کو نقصان پہنچانے کے منصوبے باندھتے اور اپنے بستر پر ہی سازشیں کرتے ہیں۔ پَو پھٹتے ہی وہ اُٹھ کر اُنہیں پورا کرتے ہیں، کیونکہ وہ یہ کرنے کا اختیار رکھتے ہیں۔

And they covet fields, and take them by violence; and houses, and take them away: so they oppress a man and his house, even a man and his heritage.

جب وہ کسی کھیت یا مکان کے لالچ میں آ جاتے ہیں تو اُسے چھین لیتے ہیں۔ وہ لوگوں پر ظلم کر کے اُن کے گھر اور موروثی ملکیت اُن سے لُوٹ لیتے ہیں۔

Therefore thus saith the LORD; Behold, against this family do I devise an evil, from which ye shall not remove your necks; neither shall ye go haughtily: for this time is evil.

چنانچہ رب فرماتا ہے، ”مَیں اِس قوم پر آفت کا منصوبہ باندھ رہا ہوں، ایسا پھندا جس میں سے تم اپنی گردنوں کو نکال نہیں سکو گے۔ تب تم سر اُٹھا کر نہیں پھرو گے، کیونکہ وقت بُرا ہی ہو گا۔

In that day shall one take up a parable against you, and lament with a doleful lamentation, and say, We be utterly spoiled: he hath changed the portion of my people: how hath he removed it from me! turning away he hath divided our fields.

اُس دن لوگ اپنے گیتوں میں تمہارا مذاق اُڑائیں گے، وہ ماتم کا تلخ گیت گا کر تمہیں لعن طعن کریں گے، ’ہائے، ہم سراسر تباہ ہو گئے ہیں! میری قوم کی موروثی زمین دوسروں کے ہاتھ میں آ گئی ہے۔ وہ کس طرح مجھ سے چھین لی گئی ہے! ہمارے کام کے جواب میں ہمارے کھیت دوسروں میں تقسیم ہو رہے ہیں‘۔“

Therefore thou shalt have none that shall cast a cord by lot in the congregation of the LORD.

چنانچہ آئندہ تم میں سے کوئی نہیں ہو گا جو رب کی جماعت میں قرعہ ڈال کر موروثی زمین تقسیم کرے۔

Prophesy ye not, say they to them that prophesy: they shall not prophesy to them, that they shall not take shame.

وہ نبوّت کرتے ہیں، ”نبوّت مت کرو! نبوّت کرتے وقت انسان کو اِس قسم کی باتیں نہیں سنانی چاہئیں۔ یہ صحیح نہیں کہ ہماری رُسوائی ہو جائے گی۔“

O thou that art named the house of Jacob, is the spirit of the LORD straitened? are these his doings? do not my words do good to him that walketh uprightly?

اے یعقوب کے گھرانے، کیا تجھے اِس طرح کی باتیں کرنی چاہئیں، ”کیا رب ناراض ہے؟ کیا وہ ایسا کام کرے گا؟“ رب فرماتا ہے، ”یہ بات درست ہے کہ مَیں اُس سے مہربان باتیں کرتا ہوں جو صحیح راہ پر چلے۔

Even of late my people is risen up as an enemy: ye pull off the robe with the garment from them that pass by securely as men averse from war.

لیکن کافی دیر سے میری قوم دشمن بن کر اُٹھ کھڑی ہوئی ہے۔ جن لوگوں کا جنگ کرنے سے تعلق ہی نہیں اُن سے تم چادر تک سب کچھ چھین لیتے ہو جب وہ اپنے آپ کو محفوظ سمجھ کر تمہارے پاس سے گزرتے ہیں۔

The women of my people have ye cast out from their pleasant houses; from their children have ye taken away my glory for ever.

میری قوم کی عورتوں کو تم اُن کے خوش نما گھروں سے بھگا کر اُن کے بچوں کو ہمیشہ کے لئے میری شاندار برکتوں سے محروم کر دیتے ہو۔

Arise ye, and depart; for this is not your rest: because it is polluted, it shall destroy you, even with a sore destruction.

اب اُٹھ کر چلے جاؤ! آئندہ تمہیں یہاں سکون حاصل نہیں ہو گا۔ کیونکہ ناپاکی کے سبب سے یہ مقام اذیت ناک طریقے سے تباہ ہو جائے گا۔

If a man walking in the spirit and falsehood do lie, saying, I will prophesy unto thee of wine and of strong drink; he shall even be the prophet of this people.

حقیقت میں یہ قوم ایسا فریب دہ نبی چاہتی ہے جو خالی ہاتھ آ کر اُس سے کہے، ’تمہیں کثرت کی مَے اور شراب حاصل ہو گی!‘

I will surely assemble, O Jacob, all of thee; I will surely gather the remnant of Israel; I will put them together as the sheep of Bozrah, as the flock in the midst of their fold: they shall make great noise by reason of the multitude of men.

اے یعقوب کی اولاد، ایک دن مَیں تم سب کو یقیناً جمع کروں گا۔ تب مَیں اسرائیل کا بچا ہوا حصہ یوں اکٹھا کروں گا جس طرح بھیڑبکریوں کو باڑے میں یا ریوڑ کو چراگاہ میں۔ ملک میں چاروں طرف ہجوموں کا شور مچے گا۔

The breaker is come up before them: they have broken up, and have passed through the gate, and are gone out by it: and their king shall pass before them, and the LORD on the head of them.

ایک راہنما اُن کے آگے آگے چلے گا جو اُن کے لئے راستہ کھولے گا۔ تب وہ شہر کے دروازے کو توڑ کر اُس میں سے نکلیں گے۔ اُن کا بادشاہ اُن کے آگے آگے چلے گا، رب خود اُن کی راہنمائی کرے گا۔“
