Ezekiel 14

Then came certain of the elders of Israel unto me, and sat before me.

اسرائیل کے کچھ بزرگ مجھ سے ملنے آئے اور میرے سامنے بیٹھ گئے۔

And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

تب رب مجھ سے ہم کلام ہوا،

Son of man, these men have set up their idols in their heart, and put the stumblingblock of their iniquity before their face: should I be enquired of at all by them?

”اے آدم زاد، اِن آدمیوں کے دل اپنے بُتوں سے لپٹے رہتے ہیں۔ جو چیزیں اُن کے لئے ٹھوکر اور گناہ کا باعث ہیں اُنہیں اُنہوں نے اپنے منہ کے سامنے ہی رکھا ہے۔ تو پھر کیا مناسب ہے کہ مَیں اُنہیں جواب دوں جب وہ مجھ سے دریافت کرنے آتے ہیں؟

Therefore speak unto them, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Every man of the house of Israel that setteth up his idols in his heart, and putteth the stumblingblock of his iniquity before his face, and cometh to the prophet; I the LORD will answer him that cometh according to the multitude of his idols;

اُنہیں بتا، ’رب قادرِ مطلق فرماتا ہے، یہ لوگ اپنے بُتوں سے لپٹے رہتے اور وہ چیزیں اپنے منہ کے سامنے رکھتے ہیں جو ٹھوکر اور گناہ کا باعث ہیں۔ ساتھ ساتھ یہ نبی کے پاس بھی جاتے ہیں تاکہ مجھ سے معلومات حاصل کریں۔ جو بھی اسرائیلی ایسا کرے اُسے مَیں خود جو رب ہوں جواب دوں گا، ایسا جواب جو اُس کے متعدد بُتوں کے عین مطابق ہو گا۔

That I may take the house of Israel in their own heart, because they are all estranged from me through their idols.

مَیں اُن سے ایسا سلوک کروں گا تاکہ اسرائیلی قوم کے دل کو مضبوطی سے پکڑ لوں۔ کیونکہ اپنے بُتوں کی خاطر سب کے سب مجھ سے دُور ہو گئے ہیں۔‘

Therefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Repent, and turn yourselves from your idols; and turn away your faces from all your abominations.

چنانچہ اسرائیلی قوم کو بتا، ’رب قادرِ مطلق فرماتا ہے کہ توبہ کرو! اپنے بُتوں اور تمام مکروہ رسم و رواج سے منہ موڑ کر میرے پاس واپس آ جاؤ۔

For every one of the house of Israel, or of the stranger that sojourneth in Israel, which separateth himself from me, and setteth up his idols in his heart, and putteth the stumblingblock of his iniquity before his face, and cometh to a prophet to enquire of him concerning me; I the LORD will answer him by myself:

اُس کے انجام پر دھیان دو جو ایسا نہیں کرے گا، خواہ وہ اسرائیلی یا اسرائیل میں رہنے والا پردیسی ہو۔ اگر وہ مجھ سے دُور ہو کر اپنے بُتوں سے لپٹ جائے اور وہ چیزیں اپنے سامنے رکھے جو ٹھوکر اور گناہ کا باعث ہیں تو جب وہ نبی کی معرفت مجھ سے معلومات حاصل کرنے کی کوشش کرے گا تو مَیں، رب اُسے مناسب جواب دوں گا۔

And I will set my face against that man, and will make him a sign and a proverb, and I will cut him off from the midst of my people; and ye shall know that I am the LORD.

مَیں ایسے شخص کا سامنا کر کے اُس سے یوں نپٹ لوں گا کہ وہ دوسروں کے لئے عبرت انگیز مثال بن جائے گا۔ مَیں اُسے یوں مٹا دوں گا کہ میری قوم میں اُس کا نام و نشان تک نہیں رہے گا۔ تب تم جان لو گے کہ مَیں ہی رب ہوں۔

And if the prophet be deceived when he hath spoken a thing, I the LORD have deceived that prophet, and I will stretch out my hand upon him, and will destroy him from the midst of my people Israel.

اگر کسی نبی کو کچھ سنانے پر اُکسایا گیا جو میری طرف سے نہیں تھا تو یہ اِس لئے ہوا کہ مَیں، رب نے خود اُسے اُکسایا۔ ایسے نبی کے خلاف مَیں اپنا ہاتھ اُٹھا کر اُسے یوں تباہ کروں گا کہ میری قوم میں اُس کا نام و نشان تک نہیں رہے گا۔

And they shall bear the punishment of their iniquity: the punishment of the prophet shall be even as the punishment of him that seeketh unto him;

دونوں کو اُن کے قصور کی مناسب سزا ملے گی، نبی کو بھی اور اُسے بھی جو ہدایت پانے کے لئے اُس کے پاس آتا ہے۔

That the house of Israel may go no more astray from me, neither be polluted any more with all their transgressions; but that they may be my people, and I may be their God, saith the Lord GOD.

تب اسرائیلی قوم نہ مجھ سے دُور ہو کر آوارہ پھرے گی، نہ اپنے آپ کو اِن تمام گناہوں سے آلودہ کرے گی۔ وہ میری قوم ہوں گے، اور مَیں اُن کا خدا ہوں گا۔ یہ رب قادرِ مطلق کا فرمان ہے‘۔“

The word of the LORD came again to me, saying,

رب مجھ سے ہم کلام ہوا،

Son of man, when the land sinneth against me by trespassing grievously, then will I stretch out mine hand upon it, and will break the staff of the bread thereof, and will send famine upon it, and will cut off man and beast from it:

”اے آدم زاد، فرض کر کہ کوئی ملک بےوفا ہو کر میرا گناہ کرے، اور مَیں کال کے ذریعے اُسے سزا دے کر اُس میں سے انسان و حیوان مٹا ڈالوں۔

Though these three men, Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it, they should deliver but their own souls by their righteousness, saith the Lord GOD.

خواہ ملک میں نوح، دانیال اور ایوب کیوں نہ بستے توبھی ملک نہ بچتا۔ یہ آدمی اپنی راست بازی سے صرف اپنی ہی جانوں کو بچا سکتے۔ یہ رب قادرِ مطلق کا فرمان ہے۔

If I cause noisome beasts to pass through the land, and they spoil it, so that it be desolate, that no man may pass through because of the beasts:

یا فرض کر کہ مَیں مذکورہ ملک میں وحشی درندوں کو بھیج دوں جو اِدھر اُدھر پھر کر سب کو پھاڑ کھائیں۔ ملک ویران و سنسان ہو جائے اور جنگلی درندوں کی وجہ سے کوئی اُس میں سے گزرنے کی جرٲت نہ کرے۔

Though these three men were in it, as I live, saith the Lord GOD, they shall deliver neither sons nor daughters; they only shall be delivered, but the land shall be desolate.

میری حیات کی قَسم، خواہ مذکورہ تین راست باز آدمی ملک میں کیوں نہ بستے توبھی اکیلے ہی بچتے۔ وہ اپنے بیٹے بیٹیوں کو بھی بچا نہ سکتے بلکہ پورا ملک ویران و سنسان ہوتا۔ یہ رب قادرِ مطلق کا فرمان ہے۔

Or if I bring a sword upon that land, and say, Sword, go through the land; so that I cut off man and beast from it:

یا فرض کر کہ مَیں مذکورہ ملک کو جنگ سے تباہ کروں، مَیں تلوار کو حکم دوں کہ ملک میں سے گزر کر انسان و حیوان کو نیست و نابود کر دے۔

Though these three men were in it, as I live, saith the Lord GOD, they shall deliver neither sons nor daughters, but they only shall be delivered themselves.

میری حیات کی قَسم، خواہ مذکورہ تین راست باز آدمی ملک میں کیوں نہ بستے وہ اکیلے ہی بچتے۔ وہ اپنے بیٹے بیٹیوں کو بھی بچا نہ سکتے۔ یہ رب قادرِ مطلق کا فرمان ہے۔

Or if I send a pestilence into that land, and pour out my fury upon it in blood, to cut off from it man and beast:

یا فرض کر کہ مَیں اپنا غصہ ملک پر اُتار کر اُس میں مہلک وبا یوں پھیلا دوں کہ انسان و حیوان سب کے سب مر جائیں۔

Though Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it, as I live, saith the Lord GOD, they shall deliver neither son nor daughter; they shall but deliver their own souls by their righteousness.

میری حیات کی قَسم، خواہ نوح، دانیال اور ایوب ملک میں کیوں نہ بستے توبھی وہ اپنے بیٹے بیٹیوں کو بچا نہ سکتے۔ وہ اپنی راست بازی سے صرف اپنی ہی جانوں کو بچاتے۔ یہ رب قادرِ مطلق کا فرمان ہے۔

For thus saith the Lord GOD; How much more when I send my four sore judgments upon Jerusalem, the sword, and the famine, and the noisome beast, and the pestilence, to cut off from it man and beast?

اب یروشلم کے بارے میں رب قادرِ مطلق کا فرمان سنو! یروشلم کا کتنا بُرا حال ہو گا جب مَیں اپنی چار سخت سزائیں اُس پر نازل کروں گا۔ کیونکہ انسان و حیوان جنگ، کال، وحشی درندوں اور مہلک وبا کی زد میں آ کر ہلاک ہو جائیں گے۔

Yet, behold, therein shall be left a remnant that shall be brought forth, both sons and daughters: behold, they shall come forth unto you, and ye shall see their way and their doings: and ye shall be comforted concerning the evil that I have brought upon Jerusalem, even concerning all that I have brought upon it.

توبھی چند ایک بچیں گے، کچھ بیٹے بیٹیاں جلاوطن ہو کر بابل میں تمہارے پاس آئیں گے۔ جب تم اُن کا بُرا چال چلن اور حرکتیں دیکھو گے تو تمہیں تسلی ملے گی کہ ہر آفت مناسب تھی جو مَیں یروشلم پر لایا۔

And they shall comfort you, when ye see their ways and their doings: and ye shall know that I have not done without cause all that I have done in it, saith the Lord GOD.

اُن کا چال چلن اور حرکتیں دیکھ کر تمہیں تسلی ملے گی، کیونکہ تم جان لو گے کہ جو کچھ بھی مَیں نے یروشلم کے ساتھ کیا وہ بلاوجہ نہیں تھا۔ یہ رب قادرِ مطلق کا فرمان ہے۔“
