Esther 6

On that night could not the king sleep, and he commanded to bring the book of records of the chronicles; and they were read before the king.

اُس رات بادشاہ کو نیند نہ آئی، اِس لئے اُس نے حکم دیا کہ وہ کتاب لائی جائے جس میں روزانہ حکومت کے اہم واقعات لکھے جاتے ہیں۔ اُس میں سے پڑھا گیا

And it was found written, that Mordecai had told of Bigthana and Teresh, two of the king's chamberlains, the keepers of the door, who sought to lay hand on the king Ahasuerus.

تو اِس کا بھی ذکر ہوا کہ مردکی نے کس طرح بادشاہ کو دونوں خواجہ سراؤں بِگتانا اور ترش کے ہاتھ سے بچایا تھا، کہ جب شاہی کمروں کے اِن پہرے داروں نے اخسویرس کو قتل کرنے کی سازش کی تو مردکی نے بادشاہ کو اطلاع دی تھی۔

And the king said, What honour and dignity hath been done to Mordecai for this? Then said the king's servants that ministered unto him, There is nothing done for him.

جب یہ واقعہ پڑھا گیا تو بادشاہ نے پوچھا، ”اِس کے عوض مردکی کو کیا اعزاز دیا گیا؟“ ملازموں نے جواب دیا، ”کچھ بھی نہیں دیا گیا۔“

And the king said, Who is in the court? Now Haman was come into the outward court of the king's house, to speak unto the king to hang Mordecai on the gallows that he had prepared for him.

اُسی لمحے ہامان محل کے بیرونی صحن میں آ پہنچا تھا تاکہ بادشاہ سے مردکی کو اُس سولی سے لٹکانے کی اجازت مانگے جو اُس نے اُس کے لئے بنوائی تھی۔ بادشاہ نے سوال کیا، ”باہر صحن میں کون ہے؟“

And the king's servants said unto him, Behold, Haman standeth in the court. And the king said, Let him come in.

ملازموں نے جواب دیا، ”ہامان ہے۔“ بادشاہ نے حکم دیا، ”اُسے اندر آنے دو۔“

So Haman came in. And the king said unto him, What shall be done unto the man whom the king delighteth to honour? Now Haman thought in his heart, To whom would the king delight to do honour more than to myself?

ہامان داخل ہوا تو بادشاہ نے اُس سے پوچھا، ”اُس آدمی کے لئے کیا کِیا جائے جس کی بادشاہ خاص عزت کرنا چاہے؟“ ہامان نے سوچا، ”وہ میری ہی بات کر رہا ہے! کیونکہ میری نسبت کون ہے جس کی بادشاہ زیادہ عزت کرنا چاہتا ہے؟“

And Haman answered the king, For the man whom the king delighteth to honour,

چنانچہ اُس نے جواب دیا، ”جس آدمی کی بادشاہ خاص عزت کرنا چاہیں

Let the royal apparel be brought which the king useth to wear, and the horse that the king rideth upon, and the crown royal which is set upon his head:

اُس کے لئے شاہی لباس چنا جائے جو بادشاہ خود پہن چکے ہوں۔ ایک گھوڑا بھی لایا جائے جس کا سر شاہی سجاوٹ سے سجا ہوا ہو اور جس پر بادشاہ خود سوار ہو چکے ہوں۔

And let this apparel and horse be delivered to the hand of one of the king's most noble princes, that they may array the man withal whom the king delighteth to honour, and bring him on horseback through the street of the city, and proclaim before him, Thus shall it be done to the man whom the king delighteth to honour.

یہ لباس اور گھوڑا بادشاہ کے اعلیٰ ترین افسروں میں سے ایک کے سپرد کیا جائے۔ وہی اُس شخص کو جس کی بادشاہ خاص عزت کرنا چاہتے ہیں کپڑے پہنائے اور اُسے گھوڑے پر بٹھا کر شہر کے چوک میں سے گزارے۔ ساتھ ساتھ وہ اُس کے آگے آگے چل کر اعلان کرے، ’یہی اُس کے ساتھ کیا جاتا ہے جس کی عزت بادشاہ کرنا چاہتے ہیں‘۔“

Then the king said to Haman, Make haste, and take the apparel and the horse, as thou hast said, and do even so to Mordecai the Jew, that sitteth at the king's gate: let nothing fail of all that thou hast spoken.

اخسویرس نے ہامان سے کہا، ”پھر جلدی کریں، مردکی یہودی شاہی صحن کے دروازے کے پاس بیٹھا ہے۔ شاہی لباس اور گھوڑا منگوا کر اُس کے ساتھ ایسا ہی سلوک کریں۔ جو بھی کرنے کا مشورہ آپ نے دیا وہی کچھ کریں، اور دھیان دیں کہ اِس میں کسی بھی چیز کی کمی نہ ہو!“

Then took Haman the apparel and the horse, and arrayed Mordecai, and brought him on horseback through the street of the city, and proclaimed before him, Thus shall it be done unto the man whom the king delighteth to honour.

ہامان کو ایسا ہی کرنا پڑا۔ شاہی لباس کو چن کر اُس نے اُسے مردکی کو پہنا دیا۔ پھر اُسے بادشاہ کے اپنے گھوڑے پر بٹھا کر اُس نے اُسے شہر کے چوک میں سے گزارا۔ ساتھ ساتھ وہ اُس کے آگے آگے چل کر اعلان کرتا رہا، ”یہی اُس شخص کے ساتھ کیا جاتا ہے جس کی عزت بادشاہ کرنا چاہتا ہے۔“

And Mordecai came again to the king's gate. But Haman hasted to his house mourning, and having his head covered.

پھر مردکی شاہی صحن کے دروازے کے پاس واپس آیا۔ لیکن ہامان اُداس ہو کر جلدی سے اپنے گھر چلا گیا۔ شرم کے مارے اُس نے منہ پر کپڑا ڈال لیا تھا۔

And Haman told Zeresh his wife and all his friends every thing that had befallen him. Then said his wise men and Zeresh his wife unto him, If Mordecai be of the seed of the Jews, before whom thou hast begun to fall, thou shalt not prevail against him, but shalt surely fall before him.

اُس نے اپنی بیوی زرِش اور اپنے دوستوں کو سب کچھ سنایا جو اُس کے ساتھ ہوا تھا۔ تب اُس کے مشیروں اور بیوی نے اُس سے کہا، ”آپ کا بیڑا غرق ہو گیا ہے، کیونکہ مردکی یہودی ہے اور آپ اُس کے سامنے شکست کھانے لگے ہیں۔ آپ اُس کا مقابلہ نہیں کر سکیں گے۔“

And while they were yet talking with him, came the king's chamberlains, and hasted to bring Haman unto the banquet that Esther had prepared.

وہ ابھی اُس سے بات کر ہی رہے تھے کہ بادشاہ کے خواجہ سرا پہنچ گئے اور اُسے لے کر جلدی جلدی آستر کے پاس پہنچایا۔ ضیافت تیار تھی۔
