Esther 5

Now it came to pass on the third day, that Esther put on her royal apparel, and stood in the inner court of the king's house, over against the king's house: and the king sat upon his royal throne in the royal house, over against the gate of the house.

تیسرے دن آستر ملکہ اپنا شاہی لباس پہنے ہوئے محل کے اندرونی صحن میں داخل ہوئی۔ یہ صحن اُس ہال کے سامنے تھا جس میں تخت لگا تھا۔ اُس وقت بادشاہ دروازے کے مقابل اپنے تخت پر بیٹھا تھا۔

And it was so, when the king saw Esther the queen standing in the court, that she obtained favour in his sight: and the king held out to Esther the golden sceptre that was in his hand. So Esther drew near, and touched the top of the sceptre.

آستر کو صحن میں کھڑی دیکھ کر وہ خوش ہوا اور سونے کے شاہی عصا کو اُس کی طرف بڑھا دیا۔ تب آستر قریب آئی اور عصا کے سرے کو چھو دیا۔

Then said the king unto her, What wilt thou, queen Esther? and what is thy request? it shall be even given thee to the half of the kingdom.

بادشاہ نے اُس سے پوچھا، ”آستر ملکہ، کیا بات ہے؟ آپ کیا چاہتی ہیں؟ مَیں اُسے دینے کے لئے تیار ہوں، خواہ سلطنت کا آدھا حصہ کیوں نہ ہو!“

And Esther answered, If it seem good unto the king, let the king and Haman come this day unto the banquet that I have prepared for him.

آستر نے جواب دیا، ”مَیں نے آج کے لئے ضیافت کی تیاریاں کی ہیں۔ اگر بادشاہ کو منظور ہو تو وہ ہامان کو اپنے ساتھ لے کر اُس میں شرکت کریں۔“

Then the king said, Cause Haman to make haste, that he may do as Esther hath said. So the king and Haman came to the banquet that Esther had prepared.

بادشاہ نے اپنے ملازموں کو حکم دیا، ”جلدی کرو! ہامان کو بُلاؤ تاکہ ہم آستر کی خواہش پوری کر سکیں۔“ چنانچہ بادشاہ اور ہامان آستر کی تیار شدہ ضیافت میں شریک ہوئے۔

And the king said unto Esther at the banquet of wine, What is thy petition? and it shall be granted thee: and what is thy request? even to the half of the kingdom it shall be performed.

مَے پی پی کر بادشاہ نے آستر سے پوچھا، ”اب مجھے بتائیں، آپ کیا چاہتی ہیں؟ وہ آپ کو دیا جائے گا۔ اپنی درخواست پیش کریں، کیونکہ مَیں سلطنت کے آدھے حصے تک آپ کو دینے کے لئے تیار ہوں۔“

Then answered Esther, and said, My petition and my request is;

آستر نے جواب دیا، ”میری درخواست اور آرزو یہ ہے،

If I have found favour in the sight of the king, and if it please the king to grant my petition, and to perform my request, let the king and Haman come to the banquet that I shall prepare for them, and I will do to morrow as the king hath said.

اگر بادشاہ مجھ سے خوش ہوں اور اُنہیں میری گزارش اور درخواست پوری کرنا منظور ہو تو وہ کل ایک بار پھر ہامان کے ساتھ ایک ضیافت میں شرکت کریں جو مَیں آپ کے لئے تیار کروں۔ پھر مَیں بادشاہ کو جواب دوں گی۔“

Then went Haman forth that day joyful and with a glad heart: but when Haman saw Mordecai in the king's gate, that he stood not up, nor moved for him, he was full of indignation against Mordecai.

اُس دن جب ہامان محل سے نکلا تو وہ بڑا خوش اور زندہ دل تھا۔ لیکن پھر اُس کی نظر مردکی پر پڑ گئی جو شاہی صحن کے دروازے کے پاس بیٹھا تھا۔ نہ وہ کھڑا ہوا، نہ ہامان کو دیکھ کر کانپ گیا۔ ہامان لال پیلا ہو گیا،

Nevertheless Haman refrained himself: and when he came home, he sent and called for his friends, and Zeresh his wife.

لیکن اپنے آپ پر قابو رکھ کر وہ چلا گیا۔ گھر پہنچ کر وہ اپنے دوستوں اور اپنی بیوی زرِش کو اپنے پاس بُلا کر

And Haman told them of the glory of his riches, and the multitude of his children, and all the things wherein the king had promoted him, and how he had advanced him above the princes and servants of the king.

اُن کے سامنے اپنی زبردست دولت اور متعدد بیٹوں پر شیخی مارنے لگا۔ اُس نے اُنہیں اُن سارے موقعوں کی فہرست سنائی جن پر بادشاہ نے اُس کی عزت کی تھی اور فخر کیا کہ بادشاہ نے مجھے تمام باقی شرفا اور افسروں سے زیادہ اونچا عُہدہ دیا ہے۔

Haman said moreover, Yea, Esther the queen did let no man come in with the king unto the banquet that she had prepared but myself; and to morrow am I invited unto her also with the king.

ہامان نے کہا، ”نہ صرف یہ، بلکہ آج آستر ملکہ نے ایسی ضیافت کی جس میں بادشاہ کے علاوہ صرف مَیں ہی شریک تھا۔ اور مجھے ملکہ سے کل کے لئے بھی دعوت ملی ہے کہ بادشاہ کے ساتھ ضیافت میں شرکت کروں۔

Yet all this availeth me nothing, so long as I see Mordecai the Jew sitting at the king's gate.

لیکن جب تک مردکی یہودی شاہی محل کے صحن کے دروازے پر بیٹھا نظر آتا ہے مَیں چین کا سانس نہیں لوں گا۔“

Then said Zeresh his wife and all his friends unto him, Let a gallows be made of fifty cubits high, and to morrow speak thou unto the king that Mordecai may be hanged thereon: then go thou in merrily with the king unto the banquet. And the thing pleased Haman; and he caused the gallows to be made.

اُس کی بیوی زرِش اور باقی عزیزوں نے مشورہ دیا، ”سولی بنوائیں جس کی اونچائی 75 فٹ ہو۔ پھر کل صبح سویرے بادشاہ کے پاس جا کر گزارش کریں کہ مردکی کو اُس سے لٹکایا جائے۔ اِس کے بعد آپ تسلی سے بادشاہ کے ساتھ جا کر ضیافت کے مزے لے سکتے ہیں۔“ یہ منصوبہ ہامان کو اچھا لگا، اور اُس نے سولی تیار کروائی۔
