Esther 7

So the king and Haman came to banquet with Esther the queen.

چنانچہ بادشاہ اور ہامان آستر ملکہ کی ضیافت میں شریک ہوئے۔

And the king said again unto Esther on the second day at the banquet of wine, What is thy petition, queen Esther? and it shall be granted thee: and what is thy request? and it shall be performed, even to the half of the kingdom.

مَے پیتے وقت بادشاہ نے پہلے دن کی طرح اب بھی پوچھا، ”آستر ملکہ، اب بتائیں، آپ کیا چاہتی ہیں؟ وہ آپ کو دیا جائے گا۔ اپنی درخواست پیش کریں، کیونکہ مَیں سلطنت کے آدھے حصے تک آپ کو دینے کے لئے تیار ہوں۔“

Then Esther the queen answered and said, If I have found favour in thy sight, O king, and if it please the king, let my life be given me at my petition, and my people at my request:

ملکہ نے جواب دیا، ”اگر بادشاہ مجھ سے خوش ہوں اور اُنہیں میری بات منظور ہو تو میری گزارش پوری کریں کہ میری اور میری قوم کی جان بچی رہے۔

For we are sold, I and my people, to be destroyed, to be slain, and to perish. But if we had been sold for bondmen and bondwomen, I had held my tongue, although the enemy could not countervail the king's damage.

کیونکہ مجھے اور میری قوم کو اُن کے ہاتھ بیچ ڈالا گیا ہے جو ہمیں تباہ اور ہلاک کر کے نیست و نابود کرنا چاہتے ہیں۔ اگر ہم بِک کر غلام اور لونڈیاں بن جاتے تو مَیں خاموش رہتی۔ ایسی کوئی مصیبت بادشاہ کو تنگ کرنے کے لئے کافی نہ ہوتی۔“

Then the king Ahasuerus answered and said unto Esther the queen, Who is he, and where is he, that durst presume in his heart to do so?

یہ سن کر اخسویرس نے آستر سے سوال کیا، ”کون ایسی حرکت کرنے کی جرٲت کرتا ہے؟ وہ کہاں ہے؟“

And Esther said, The adversary and enemy is this wicked Haman. Then Haman was afraid before the king and the queen.

آستر نے جواب دیا، ”ہمارا دشمن اور مخالف یہ شریر آدمی ہامان ہے!“ تب ہامان بادشاہ اور ملکہ سے دہشت کھانے لگا۔

And the king arising from the banquet of wine in his wrath went into the palace garden: and Haman stood up to make request for his life to Esther the queen; for he saw that there was evil determined against him by the king.

بادشاہ آگ بگولا ہو کر کھڑا ہو گیا اور مَے کو چھوڑ کر محل کے باغ میں ٹہلنے لگا۔ ہامان پیچھے رہ کر آستر سے التجا کرنے لگا، ”میری جان بچائیں“ کیونکہ اُسے اندازہ ہو گیا تھا کہ بادشاہ نے مجھے سزائے موت دینے کا فیصلہ کر لیا ہے۔

Then the king returned out of the palace garden into the place of the banquet of wine; and Haman was fallen upon the bed whereon Esther was. Then said the king, Will he force the queen also before me in the house? As the word went out of the king's mouth, they covered Haman's face.

جب بادشاہ واپس آیا تو کیا دیکھتا ہے کہ ہامان اُس صوفے پر گر گیا ہے جس پر آستر ٹیک لگائے بیٹھی ہے۔ بادشاہ گرجا، ”کیا یہ آدمی یہیں محل میں میرے حضور ملکہ کی عصمت دری کرنا چاہتا ہے؟“ جوں ہی بادشاہ نے یہ الفاظ کہے ملازموں نے ہامان کے منہ پر کپڑا ڈال دیا۔

And Harbonah, one of the chamberlains, said before the king, Behold also, the gallows fifty cubits high, which Haman had made for Mordecai, who had spoken good for the king, standeth in the house of Haman. Then the king said, Hang him thereon.

بادشاہ کا خواجہ سرا خربوناہ بول اُٹھا، ”ہامان نے اپنے گھر کے قریب سولی تیار کروائی ہے جس کی اونچائی 75 فٹ ہے۔ وہ مردکی کے لئے بنوائی گئی ہے، اُس شخص کے لئے جس نے بادشاہ کی جان بچائی۔“ بادشاہ نے حکم دیا، ”ہامان کو اُس سے لٹکا دو۔“

So they hanged Haman on the gallows that he had prepared for Mordecai. Then was the king's wrath pacified.

چنانچہ ہامان کو اُسی سولی سے لٹکا دیا گیا جو اُس نے مردکی کے لئے بنوائی تھی۔ تب بادشاہ کا غصہ ٹھنڈا ہو گیا۔
