II Kings 24

In his days Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up, and Jehoiakim became his servant three years: then he turned and rebelled against him.

یہویقیم کی حکومت کے دوران بابل کے بادشاہ نبوکدنضر نے یہوداہ پر حملہ کیا۔ نتیجے میں یہویقیم اُس کے تابع ہو گیا۔ لیکن تین سال کے بعد وہ سرکش ہو گیا۔

And the LORD sent against him bands of the Chaldees, and bands of the Syrians, and bands of the Moabites, and bands of the children of Ammon, and sent them against Judah to destroy it, according to the word of the LORD, which he spake by his servants the prophets.

تب رب نے بابل، شام، موآب اور عمون سے ڈاکوؤں کے جتھے بھیج دیئے تاکہ اُسے تباہ کریں۔ ویسا ہی ہوا جس طرح رب نے اپنے خادموں یعنی نبیوں کی معرفت فرمایا تھا۔

Surely at the commandment of the LORD came this upon Judah, to remove them out of his sight, for the sins of Manasseh, according to all that he did;

یہ آفتیں اِس لئے یہوداہ پر آئیں کہ رب نے اِن کا حکم دیا تھا۔ وہ منسّی کے سنگین گناہوں کی وجہ سے یہوداہ کو اپنے حضور سے خارج کرنا چاہتا تھا۔

And also for the innocent blood that he shed: for he filled Jerusalem with innocent blood; which the LORD would not pardon.

وہ یہ حقیقت بھی نظرانداز نہ کر سکا کہ منسّی نے یروشلم کو بےقصور لوگوں کے خون سے بھر دیا تھا۔ رب یہ معاف کرنے کے لئے تیار نہیں تھا۔

Now the rest of the acts of Jehoiakim, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?

باقی جو کچھ یہویقیم کی حکومت کے دوران ہوا اور جو کچھ اُس نے کیا وہ ’شاہانِ یہوداہ کی تاریخ‘ کی کتاب میں درج ہے۔

So Jehoiakim slept with his fathers: and Jehoiachin his son reigned in his stead.

جب وہ مر کر اپنے باپ دادا سے جا ملا تو اُس کا بیٹا یہویاکین تخت نشین ہوا۔

And the king of Egypt came not again any more out of his land: for the king of Babylon had taken from the river of Egypt unto the river Euphrates all that pertained to the king of Egypt.

اُس وقت مصر کا بادشاہ دوبارہ اپنے ملک سے نکل نہ سکا، کیونکہ بابل کے بادشاہ نے مصر کی سرحد بنام وادیِ مصر سے لے کر دریائے فرات تک کا سارا علاقہ مصر کے قبضے سے چھین لیا تھا۔

Jehoiachin was eighteen years old when he began to reign, and he reigned in Jerusalem three months. And his mother's name was Nehushta, the daughter of Elnathan of Jerusalem.

یہویاکین 18 سال کی عمر میں بادشاہ بنا، اور یروشلم میں اُس کی حکومت کا دورانیہ تین ماہ تھا۔ اُس کی ماں نحُشتا بنت اِلناتن یروشلم کی رہنے والی تھی۔

And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, according to all that his father had done.

اپنے باپ کی طرح یہویاکین بھی ایسا کام کرتا رہا جو رب کو ناپسند تھا۔

At that time the servants of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up against Jerusalem, and the city was besieged.

اُس کی حکومت کے دوران بابل کے بادشاہ نبوکدنضر کی فوج یروشلم تک بڑھ کر اُس کا محاصرہ کرنے لگی۔

And Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came against the city, and his servants did besiege it.

نبوکدنضر خود شہر کے محاصرے کے دوران پہنچ گیا۔

And Jehoiachin the king of Judah went out to the king of Babylon, he, and his mother, and his servants, and his princes, and his officers: and the king of Babylon took him in the eighth year of his reign.

تب یہویاکین نے شکست مان کر اپنے آپ کو اپنی ماں، ملازموں، افسروں اور درباریوں سمیت بابل کے بادشاہ کے حوالے کر دیا۔ بادشاہ نے اُسے گرفتار کر لیا۔ یہ نبوکدنضر کی حکومت کے آٹھویں سال میں ہوا۔

And he carried out thence all the treasures of the house of the LORD, and the treasures of the king's house, and cut in pieces all the vessels of gold which Solomon king of Israel had made in the temple of the LORD, as the LORD had said.

جس کا اعلان رب نے پہلے کیا تھا وہ اب پورا ہوا، نبوکدنضر نے رب کے گھر اور شاہی محل کے تمام خزانے چھین لئے۔ اُس نے سونے کا وہ سارا سامان بھی لُوٹ لیا جو سلیمان نے رب کے گھر کے لئے بنوایا تھا۔

And he carried away all Jerusalem, and all the princes, and all the mighty men of valour, even ten thousand captives, and all the craftsmen and smiths: none remained, save the poorest sort of the people of the land.

اور جتنے کھاتے پیتے لوگ یروشلم میں تھے اُن سب کو بادشاہ نے جلاوطن کر دیا۔ اُن میں تمام افسر، فوجی، دست کار اور دھاتوں کا کام کرنے والے شامل تھے، کُل 10,000 افراد۔ اُمّت کے صرف غریب لوگ پیچھے رہ گئے۔

And he carried away Jehoiachin to Babylon, and the king's mother, and the king's wives, and his officers, and the mighty of the land, those carried he into captivity from Jerusalem to Babylon.

نبوکدنضر یہویاکین کو بھی قیدی بنا کر بابل لے گیا اور اُس کی ماں، بیویوں، درباریوں اور ملک کے تمام اثر و رسوخ رکھنے والوں کو بھی۔

And all the men of might, even seven thousand, and craftsmen and smiths a thousand, all that were strong and apt for war, even them the king of Babylon brought captive to Babylon.

اُس نے فوجیوں کے 7,000 افراد اور 1,000 دست کاروں اور دھاتوں کا کام کرنے والوں کو جلاوطن کر کے بابل میں بسا دیا۔ یہ سب ماہر اور جنگ کرنے کے قابل آدمی تھے۔

And the king of Babylon made Mattaniah his father's brother king in his stead, and changed his name to Zedekiah.

یروشلم میں بابل کے بادشاہ نے یہویاکین کی جگہ اُس کے چچا متنیاہ کو تخت پر بٹھا کر اُس کا نام صِدقیاہ میں بدل دیا۔

Zedekiah was twenty and one years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Hamutal, the daughter of Jeremiah of Libnah.

صِدقیاہ 21 سال کی عمر میں بادشاہ بنا، اور یروشلم میں اُس کی حکومت کا دورانیہ 11 سال تھا۔ اُس کی ماں حموطل بنت یرمیاہ لِبناہ شہر کی رہنے والی تھی۔

And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, according to all that Jehoiakim had done.

یہویقیم کی طرح صِدقیاہ ایسا کام کرتا رہا جو رب کو ناپسند تھا۔

For through the anger of the LORD it came to pass in Jerusalem and Judah, until he had cast them out from his presence, that Zedekiah rebelled against the king of Babylon.

رب یروشلم اور یہوداہ کے باشندوں سے اِتنا ناراض ہوا کہ آخر میں اُس نے اُنہیں اپنے حضور سے خارج کر دیا۔ ایک دن صِدقیاہ بابل کے بادشاہ سے سرکش ہوا،
