II Chronicles 7

Now when Solomon had made an end of praying, the fire came down from heaven, and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices; and the glory of the LORD filled the house.

سلیمان کی اِس دعا کے اختتام پر آگ نے آسمان پر سے نازل ہو کر بھسم ہونے والی اور ذبح کی قربانیوں کو بھسم کر دیا۔ ساتھ ساتھ رب کا گھر اُس کے جلال سے یوں معمور ہوا

And the priests could not enter into the house of the LORD, because the glory of the LORD had filled the LORD'S house.

کہ امام اُس میں داخل نہ ہو سکے۔

And when all the children of Israel saw how the fire came down, and the glory of the LORD upon the house, they bowed themselves with their faces to the ground upon the pavement, and worshipped, and praised the LORD, saying, For he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever.

جب اسرائیلیوں نے دیکھا کہ آسمان پر سے آگ نازل ہوئی ہے اور گھر رب کے جلال سے معمور ہو گیا ہے تو وہ منہ کے بل جھک کر رب کی حمد و ثنا کر کے گیت گانے لگے، ”وہ بھلا ہے، اور اُس کی شفقت ابدی ہے۔“

Then the king and all the people offered sacrifices before the LORD.

پھر بادشاہ اور تمام قوم نے رب کے حضور قربانیاں پیش کر کے اللہ کے گھر کو مخصوص کیا۔ اِس سلسلے میں سلیمان نے 22,000 گائےبَیلوں اور 1,20,000 بھیڑبکریوں کو قربان کیا۔

And king Solomon offered a sacrifice of twenty and two thousand oxen, and an hundred and twenty thousand sheep: so the king and all the people dedicated the house of God.

پھر بادشاہ اور تمام قوم نے رب کے حضور قربانیاں پیش کر کے اللہ کے گھر کو مخصوص کیا۔ اِس سلسلے میں سلیمان نے 22,000 گائےبَیلوں اور 1,20,000 بھیڑبکریوں کو قربان کیا۔

And the priests waited on their offices: the Levites also with instruments of musick of the LORD, which David the king had made to praise the LORD, because his mercy endureth for ever, when David praised by their ministry; and the priests sounded trumpets before them, and all Israel stood.

امام اور لاوی اپنی اپنی ذمہ داریوں کے مطابق کھڑے تھے۔ لاوی اُن سازوں کو بجا رہے تھے جو داؤد نے رب کی ستائش کرنے کے لئے بنوائے تھے۔ ساتھ ساتھ وہ حمد کا وہ گیت گا رہے تھے جو اُنہوں نے داؤد سے سیکھا تھا، ”اُس کی شفقت ابدی ہے۔“ لاویوں کے مقابل امام تُرم بجا رہے تھے جبکہ باقی تمام لوگ کھڑے تھے۔

Moreover Solomon hallowed the middle of the court that was before the house of the LORD: for there he offered burnt offerings, and the fat of the peace offerings, because the brasen altar which Solomon had made was not able to receive the burnt offerings, and the meat offerings, and the fat.

سلیمان نے صحن کا درمیانی حصہ قربانیاں چڑھانے کے لئے مخصوص کیا۔ وجہ یہ تھی کہ پیتل کی قربان گاہ اِتنی قربانیاں پیش کرنے کے لئے چھوٹی تھی، کیونکہ بھسم ہونے والی قربانیوں اور غلہ کی نذروں کی تعداد بہت زیادہ تھی۔ اِس کے علاوہ سلامتی کی بےشمار قربانیوں کی چربی کو بھی جلانا تھا۔

Also at the same time Solomon kept the feast seven days, and all Israel with him, a very great congregation, from the entering in of Hamath unto the river of Egypt.

عید 14 دنوں تک منائی گئی۔ پہلے ہفتے میں سلیمان اور تمام اسرائیل نے قربان گاہ کی مخصوصیت منائی اور دوسرے ہفتے میں جھونپڑیوں کی عید۔ اِس عید میں بہت زیادہ لوگ شریک ہوئے۔ وہ دُوردراز علاقوں سے یروشلم آئے تھے، شمال میں لبو حمات سے لے کر جنوب میں اُس وادی تک جو مصر کی سرحد تھی۔ آخری دن پوری جماعت نے اختتامی جشن منایا۔

And in the eighth day they made a solemn assembly: for they kept the dedication of the altar seven days, and the feast seven days.

عید 14 دنوں تک منائی گئی۔ پہلے ہفتے میں سلیمان اور تمام اسرائیل نے قربان گاہ کی مخصوصیت منائی اور دوسرے ہفتے میں جھونپڑیوں کی عید۔ اِس عید میں بہت زیادہ لوگ شریک ہوئے۔ وہ دُوردراز علاقوں سے یروشلم آئے تھے، شمال میں لبو حمات سے لے کر جنوب میں اُس وادی تک جو مصر کی سرحد تھی۔ آخری دن پوری جماعت نے اختتامی جشن منایا۔

And on the three and twentieth day of the seventh month he sent the people away into their tents, glad and merry in heart for the goodness that the LORD had shewed unto David, and to Solomon, and to Israel his people.

یہ ساتویں ماہ کے 23ویں دن وقوع پذیر ہوا۔ اِس کے بعد سلیمان نے اسرائیلیوں کو رُخصت کیا۔ سب شادمان اور دل سے خوش تھے کہ رب نے داؤد، سلیمان اور اپنی قوم اسرائیل پر اِتنی مہربانی کی ہے۔

Thus Solomon finished the house of the LORD, and the king's house: and all that came into Solomon's heart to make in the house of the LORD, and in his own house, he prosperously effected.

چنانچہ سلیمان نے رب کے گھر اور شاہی محل کو تکمیل تک پہنچایا۔ جو کچھ بھی اُس نے ٹھان لیا تھا وہ پورا ہوا۔

And the LORD appeared to Solomon by night, and said unto him, I have heard thy prayer, and have chosen this place to myself for an house of sacrifice.

ایک رات رب اُس پر ظاہر ہوا اور کہا، ”مَیں نے تیری دعا کو سن کر طے کر لیا ہے کہ یہ گھر وہی جگہ ہو جہاں تم مجھے قربانیاں پیش کر سکو۔

If I shut up heaven that there be no rain, or if I command the locusts to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among my people;

جب کبھی مَیں بارش کا سلسلہ روکوں، یا فصلیں خراب کرنے کے لئے ٹڈیاں بھیجوں یا اپنی قوم میں وبا پھیلنے دوں

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

تو اگر میری قوم جو میرے نام سے کہلاتی ہے اپنے آپ کو پست کرے اور دعا کر کے میرے چہرے کی طالب ہو اور اپنی شریر راہوں سے باز آئے تو پھر مَیں آسمان پر سے اُس کی سن کر اُس کے گناہوں کو معاف کر دوں گا اور ملک کو بحال کروں گا۔

Now mine eyes shall be open, and mine ears attent unto the prayer that is made in this place.

اب سے جب بھی یہاں دعا مانگی جائے تو میری آنکھیں کھلی رہیں گی اور میرے کان اُس پر دھیان دیں گے۔

For now have I chosen and sanctified this house, that my name may be there for ever: and mine eyes and mine heart shall be there perpetually.

کیونکہ مَیں نے اِس گھر کو چن کر مخصوص و مُقدّس کر رکھا ہے تاکہ میرا نام ہمیشہ تک یہاں قائم رہے۔ میری آنکھیں اور دل ہمیشہ اِس میں حاضر رہیں گے۔

And as for thee, if thou wilt walk before me, as David thy father walked, and do according to all that I have commanded thee, and shalt observe my statutes and my judgments;

جہاں تک تیرا تعلق ہے، اپنے باپ داؤد کی طرح میرے حضور چلتا رہ۔ کیونکہ اگر تُو میرے تمام احکام اور ہدایات کی پیروی کرتا رہے

Then will I stablish the throne of thy kingdom, according as I have covenanted with David thy father, saying, There shall not fail thee a man to be ruler in Israel.

تو مَیں تیری اسرائیل پر حکومت قائم رکھوں گا۔ پھر میرا وہ وعدہ قائم رہے گا جو مَیں نے تیرے باپ داؤد سے عہد باندھ کر کیا تھا کہ اسرائیل پر تیری اولاد کی حکومت ہمیشہ تک قائم رہے گی۔

But if ye turn away, and forsake my statutes and my commandments, which I have set before you, and shall go and serve other gods, and worship them;

لیکن خبردار! اگر تُو مجھ سے دُور ہو کر میرے دیئے گئے احکام اور ہدایات کو ترک کرے بلکہ دیگر معبودوں کی طرف رجوع کر کے اُن کی خدمت اور پرستش کرے

Then will I pluck them up by the roots out of my land which I have given them; and this house, which I have sanctified for my name, will I cast out of my sight, and will make it to be a proverb and a byword among all nations.

تو مَیں اسرائیل کو جڑ سے اُکھاڑ کر اُس ملک سے نکال دوں گا جو مَیں نے اُن کو دے دیا تھا۔ نہ صرف یہ بلکہ مَیں اِس گھر کو بھی رد کر دوں گا جو مَیں نے اپنے نام کے لئے مخصوص و مُقدّس کر لیا ہے۔ اُس وقت مَیں اسرائیل کو تمام اقوام میں مذاق اور لعن طعن کا نشانہ بنا دوں گا۔

And this house, which is high, shall be an astonishment to every one that passeth by it; so that he shall say, Why hath the LORD done thus unto this land, and unto this house?

اِس شاندار گھر کی بُری حالت دیکھ کر یہاں سے گزرنے والے تمام لوگوں کے رونگٹے کھڑے ہو جائیں گے، اور وہ پوچھیں گے، ’رب نے اِس ملک اور اِس گھر سے ایسا سلوک کیوں کیا؟‘

And it shall be answered, Because they forsook the LORD God of their fathers, which brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, and laid hold on other gods, and worshipped them, and served them: therefore hath he brought all this evil upon them.

تب لوگ جواب دیں گے، ’اِس لئے کہ گو رب اُن کے باپ دادا کا خدا اُنہیں مصر سے نکال کر یہاں لایا توبھی یہ لوگ اُسے ترک کر کے دیگر معبودوں سے چمٹ گئے ہیں۔ چونکہ وہ اُن کی پرستش اور خدمت کرنے سے باز نہ آئے اِس لئے اُس نے اُنہیں اِس ساری مصیبت میں ڈال دیا ہے‘۔“
