II Chronicles 30

And Hezekiah sent to all Israel and Judah, and wrote letters also to Ephraim and Manasseh, that they should come to the house of the LORD at Jerusalem, to keep the passover unto the LORD God of Israel.

Και απεστειλεν ο Εζεκιας προς παντα τον Ισραηλ και Ιουδαν εγραψεν ετι επιστολας προς Εφραιμ και Μανασση, δια να ελθωσιν εις τον οικον του Κυριου εν Ιερουσαλημ, να καμωσι πασχα εις Κυριον τον Θεον του Ισραηλ.

For the king had taken counsel, and his princes, and all the congregation in Jerusalem, to keep the passover in the second month.

Διοτι συνεβουλευθη ο βασιλευς και οι αρχοντες αυτου και πασα η συναξις εν Ιερουσαλημ να καμωσι το πασχα εν τω δευτερω μηνι.

For they could not keep it at that time, because the priests had not sanctified themselves sufficiently, neither had the people gathered themselves together to Jerusalem.

Επειδη δεν ηδυνηθησαν να καμωσιν αυτο εν τω καιρω εκεινω, διοτι οι ιερεις δεν ησαν αρκετα ηγιασμενοι και ο λαος δεν ητο συνηγμενος εν Ιερουσαλημ.

And the thing pleased the king and all the congregation.

Και ηρεσε το πραγμα εις τον βασιλεα και εις πασαν την συναξιν.

So they established a decree to make proclamation throughout all Israel, from Beer–sheba even to Dan, that they should come to keep the passover unto the LORD God of Israel at Jerusalem: for they had not done it of a long time in such sort as it was written.

Οθεν απεφασισαν να διακηρυξωσι δια παντος του Ισραηλ, απο Βηρ−σαβεε εως Δαν, να ελθωσι δια να καμωσι πασχα εις Κυριον τον Θεον του Ισραηλ εν Ιερουσαλημ διοτι απο πολλου χρονου δεν ειχον καμει κατα το γεγραμμενον.

So the posts went with the letters from the king and his princes throughout all Israel and Judah, and according to the commandment of the king, saying, Ye children of Israel, turn again unto the LORD God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, and he will return to the remnant of you, that are escaped out of the hand of the kings of Assyria.

Και υπηγαν οι ταχυδρομοι μετα των επιστολων παρα του βασιλεως και των αρχοντων αυτου, δια παντος του Ισραηλ και Ιουδα, και κατα την προσταγην του βασιλεως, λεγοντες, υιοι Ισραηλ, επιστρεψατε προς Κυριον τον Θεον του Αβρααμ, Ισαακ και Ισραηλ και αυτος θελει επιστρεψει εις τους εναπολειφθεντας απο σας, οσοι διεσωθητε εκ χειρος των βασιλεων της Ασσυριας

And be not ye like your fathers, and like your brethren, which trespassed against the LORD God of their fathers, who therefore gave them up to desolation, as ye see.

και μη γινεσθε καθως οι πατερες σας και καθως οι αδελφοι σας, οιτινες ησεβησαν εις Κυριον τον Θεον των πατερων αυτων και παρεδωκεν αυτους εις ερημωσιν, ως βλεπετε

Now be ye not stiffnecked, as your fathers were, but yield yourselves unto the LORD, and enter into his sanctuary, which he hath sanctified for ever: and serve the LORD your God, that the fierceness of his wrath may turn away from you.

τωρα μη σκληρυνητε τον τραχηλον σας, καθως οι πατερες σας υποταχθητε εις τον Κυριον και εισελθετε εις το αγιαστηριον αυτου, το οποιον ηγιασεν εις τον αιωνα και δουλευσατε Κυριον τον Θεον σας, δια να αποστρεψη την εξαψιν του θυμου αυτου αφ υμων

For if ye turn again unto the LORD, your brethren and your children shall find compassion before them that lead them captive, so that they shall come again into this land: for the LORD your God is gracious and merciful, and will not turn away his face from you, if ye return unto him.

διοτι εαν επιστρεψητε προς τον Κυριον, οι αδελφοι σας και τα τεκνα σας θελουσιν ευρει ελεος εμπροσθεν των αιχμαλωτισαντων αυτους, και θελουσιν επανελθει εις την γην ταυτην διοτι οικτιρμων και ελεημων ειναι Κυριος ο Θεος σας και δεν θελει αποστρεψει το προσωπον αυτου απο σας, εαν επιστρεψητε προς αυτον.

So the posts passed from city to city through the country of Ephraim and Manasseh even unto Zebulun: but they laughed them to scorn, and mocked them.

Και διηλθον οι ταχυδρομοι απο πολεως εις πολιν δια της γης του Εφραιμ και Μανασση και εως Ζαβουλων πλην εκεινοι κατεγελασαν αυτους και εμυκτηρισαν αυτους.

Nevertheless divers of Asher and Manasseh and of Zebulun humbled themselves, and came to Jerusalem.

Τινες ομως εκ του Ασηρ και Μανασση και Ζαβουλων υπεκλιναν και ηλθον εις Ιερουσαλημ.

Also in Judah the hand of God was to give them one heart to do the commandment of the king and of the princes, by the word of the LORD.

Και επι Ιουδαν ητο χειρ Θεου, ωστε να δωση εις αυτους καρδιαν μιαν, δια να καμωσι την προσταγην του βασιλεως και των αρχοντων, κατα τον λογον του Κυριου.

And there assembled at Jerusalem much people to keep the feast of unleavened bread in the second month, a very great congregation.

Και συνηχθησαν εις Ιερουσαλημ λαος πολυς, δια να καμωσι την εορτην των αζυμων εν τω μηνι τω δευτερω, συναξις μεγαλη σφοδρα.

And they arose and took away the altars that were in Jerusalem, and all the altars for incense took they away, and cast them into the brook Kidron.

Και σηκωθεντες, αφηρεσαν τα θυσιαστηρια τα εν Ιερουσαλημ και παντα τα θυσιαστηρια του θυμιαματος αφηρεσαν και ερριψαν αυτα εις τον χειμαρρον Κεδρων.

Then they killed the passover on the fourteenth day of the second month: and the priests and the Levites were ashamed, and sanctified themselves, and brought in the burnt offerings into the house of the LORD.

Και εθυσιασαν το πασχα τη δεκατη τεταρτη του δευτερου μηνος και εντραπησαν οι ιερεις και οι Λευιται, και αγιασθεντες εισεφεραν ολοκαυτωματα εις τον οικον του Κυριου.

And they stood in their place after their manner, according to the law of Moses the man of God: the priests sprinkled the blood, which they received of the hand of the Levites.

Και εσταθησαν εν τω τοπω αυτων, κατα την ταξιν αυτων, κατα τον νομον Μωυσεως του ανθρωπου του Θεου και ερραντιζον οι ιερεις το αιμα, λαμβανοντες εκ της χειρος των Λευιτων.

For there were many in the congregation that were not sanctified: therefore the Levites had the charge of the killing of the passovers for every one that was not clean, to sanctify them unto the LORD.

Διοτι ησαν πολλοι εν τη συναξει, οι μη αγιασθεντες δια τουτο ελαβον οι Λευιται το φορτιον να σφαξωσι τα αρνια του πασχα δια παντα τον μη καθαρον, δια να αγιασωσιν αυτους εις τον Κυριον.

For a multitude of the people, even many of Ephraim, and Manasseh, Issachar, and Zebulun, had not cleansed themselves, yet did they eat the passover otherwise than it was written. But Hezekiah prayed for them, saying, The good LORD pardon every one

Επειδη μεγα μερος εκ του λαου, πολλοι εκ του Εφραιμ και Μανασση, Ισσαχαρ και Ζαβουλων δεν ειχον καθαρισθη, αλλ ετρωγον το πασχα ουχι κατα το γεγραμμενον ο Εζεκιας ομως εδεηθη υπερ αυτων, λεγων, Ο αγαθος Κυριος ας γεινη ιλεως εις παντα,

That prepareth his heart to seek God, the LORD God of his fathers, though he be not cleansed according to the purification of the sanctuary.

οστις κατευθυνει την καρδιαν αυτου εις το να εκζητη τον Θεον, Κυριον τον Θεον των πατερων αυτου, και αν δεν εκαθαρισθη κατα τον καθαρισμον του αγιαστηριου.

And the LORD hearkened to Hezekiah, and healed the people.

Και επηκουσεν ο Κυριος του Εζεκιου και συνεχωρησε τον λαον.

And the children of Israel that were present at Jerusalem kept the feast of unleavened bread seven days with great gladness: and the Levites and the priests praised the LORD day by day, singing with loud instruments unto the LORD.

Και εκαμον οι υιοι Ισραηλ οι ευρεθεντες εν Ιερουσαλημ την εορτην των αζυμων επτα ημερας εν ευφροσυνη μεγαλη και υμνουν οι Λευιται και οι ιερεις τον Κυριον καθ εκαστην ημεραν, τον Κυριον, με οργανα δυνατα.

And Hezekiah spake comfortably unto all the Levites that taught the good knowledge of the LORD: and they did eat throughout the feast seven days, offering peace offerings, and making confession to the LORD God of their fathers.

Και ελαλησεν ο Εζεκιας κατα την καρδιαν παντων των Λευιτων των εχοντων συνεσιν αγαθην περι του Κυριου και ετρωγον εν τη εορτη επτα ημερας, θυσιαζοντες θυσιας ειρηνικας και δοξολογουντες Κυριον τον Θεον των πατερων αυτων.

And the whole assembly took counsel to keep other seven days: and they kept other seven days with gladness.

Και συνεβουλευθη πασα η συναξις να καμωσιν αλλας επτα ημερας και εκαμον αλλας επτα ημερας ευφροσυνην.

For Hezekiah king of Judah did give to the congregation a thousand bullocks and seven thousand sheep; and the princes gave to the congregation a thousand bullocks and ten thousand sheep: and a great number of priests sanctified themselves.

Διοτι προσεφερεν Εζεκιας, ο βασιλευς του Ιουδα, εις την συναξιν χιλιους βοας και επτα χιλιαδας προβατων και οι αρχοντες προσεφεραν εις την συναξιν χιλιους βοας και δεκα χιλιαδας προβατων και ηγιασθησαν πολλοι ιερεις.

And all the congregation of Judah, with the priests and the Levites, and all the congregation that came out of Israel, and the strangers that came out of the land of Israel, and that dwelt in Judah, rejoiced.

Και ευφρανθησαν πασα η συναξις του Ιουδα και οι ιερεις και οι Λευιται και πασα η συναξις η συνελθουσα εκ του Ισραηλ και οι ξενοι οι ελθοντες εκ της γης του Ισραηλ και οι κατοικουντες εν Ιουδα.

So there was great joy in Jerusalem: for since the time of Solomon the son of David king of Israel there was not the like in Jerusalem.

Και εγεινεν ευφροσυνη μεγαλη εν Ιερουσαλημ διοτι απο των ημερων του Σολομωντος υιου του Δαβιδ βασιλεως του Ισραηλ, δεν εγεινε τοιουτον πραγμα εν Ιερουσαλημ.

Then the priests the Levites arose and blessed the people: and their voice was heard, and their prayer came up to his holy dwelling place, even unto heaven.

Μετα ταυτα σηκωθεντες οι ιερεις οι Λευιται ηυλογησαν τον λαον και επηκουσθη η φωνη αυτων, και ηλθεν η προσευχη αυτων εις τον ουρανον, το αγιον κατοικητηριον του Κυριου.
