Zechariah 5

Then I turned, and lifted up mine eyes, and looked, and behold a flying roll.

E io alzai di nuovo gli occhi, guardai, ed ecco un rotolo che volava.

And he said unto me, What seest thou? And I answered, I see a flying roll; the length thereof is twenty cubits, and the breadth thereof ten cubits.

E l’angelo mi disse: "Che vedi?" Io risposi: "Vedo un rotolo che vola, la cui lunghezza è di venti cubiti, e la larghezza di dieci cubiti".

Then said he unto me, This is the curse that goeth forth over the face of the whole earth: for every one that stealeth shall be cut off as on this side according to it; and every one that sweareth shall be cut off as on that side according to it.

Ed egli mi disse: "Questa è la maledizione che si spande sopra tutto il paese; poiché ogni ladro, a tenor di essa, sarà estirpato da questo luogo, e ogni spergiuro, a tenor di essa, sarà estirpato da questo luogo.

I will bring it forth, saith the LORD of hosts, and it shall enter into the house of the thief, and into the house of him that sweareth falsely by my name: and it shall remain in the midst of his house, and shall consume it with the timber thereof and the stones thereof.

Io la faccio uscire, dice l’Eterno degli eserciti, ed essa entrerà nella casa del ladro, e nella casa di colui che giura il falso nel mio nome; si stabilirà in mezzo a quella casa, e la consumerà col legname e le pietre che contiene".

Then the angel that talked with me went forth, and said unto me, Lift up now thine eyes, and see what is this that goeth forth.

E l’angelo che parlava meco uscì, e mi disse: "Alza gli occhi, e guarda che cosa esce là".

And I said, What is it? And he said, This is an ephah that goeth forth. He said moreover, This is their resemblance through all the earth.

Io risposi: "Che cos’è?" Egli disse: "E’ l’efa che esce". Poi aggiunse: "In tutto il paese non hanno occhio che per quello".

And, behold, there was lifted up a talent of lead: and this is a woman that sitteth in the midst of the ephah.

Ed ecco, fu alzata una piastra di piombo, e in mezzo all’efa stava seduta una donna.

And he said, This is wickedness. And he cast it into the midst of the ephah; and he cast the weight of lead upon the mouth thereof.

Ed egli disse: "Questa è la malvagità"; e la gettò in mezzo all’efa, e poi gettò la piastra di piombo sulla bocca dell’efa.

Then lifted I up mine eyes, and looked, and, behold, there came out two women, and the wind was in their wings; for they had wings like the wings of a stork: and they lifted up the ephah between the earth and the heaven.

Poi alzai gli occhi, guardai, ed ecco due donne che s’avanzavano; il vento soffiava nelle loro ali, e le ali che avevano eran come ali di cicogna; ed esse sollevarono l’efa fra terra e cielo.

Then said I to the angel that talked with me, Whither do these bear the ephah?

E io dissi all’angelo che parlava meco: "Dove portano esse l’efa?"

And he said unto me, To build it an house in the land of Shinar: and it shall be established, and set there upon her own base.

Egli mi rispose: "Nel paese di Scinear, per costruirgli quivi una casa; e quando sarà preparata, esso sarà posto quivi al suo luogo".
