Psalms 23

The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.

خداوند شبان من است. محتاج به هیچ چیز نخواهم بود.

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

در چمنزارهای سرسبز مرا می‌خواباند. در کنار آبهای آرام مرا رهبری می‌کند.

He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

جان تازه‌ای به من می‌بخشد و به‌خاطر نام خود، مرا به راه راست هدایت می‌نماید.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

حتّی هنگام گذشتن از درّهٔ تاریک مرگ از چیزی نمی‌ترسم، زیرا تو همراه من هستی. عصا و چوبدستی تو مرا حمایت خواهد کرد.

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

سفره‌ای برای من در حضور دشمنانم می‌گسترانی و مرا چون مهمانی عزیز در این ضیافت می‌پذیری و جام مرا لبریز می‌گردانی.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

اطمینان دارم که تمام عمرم به من لطف و محبّت خواهی نمود، و تا زمانی که زنده هستم، در خانهٔ تو ساکن خواهم بود.
