Psalms 11

من به خداوند توکّل دارم. چرا به من می‌گویید: «مانند پرنده به کوهها فرار کن.

In the LORD put I my trust: how say ye to my soul, Flee as a bird to your mountain?

زیرا شریران کمان به دست گرفته و تیر را به زه نهاده‌اند تا آن را در تاریکی به سوی نیکان پرتاب کنند.

For, lo, the wicked bend their bow, they make ready their arrow upon the string, that they may privily shoot at the upright in heart.

در زمانی که نیکی از بین رفته است، نیکان چه می‌توانند بکنند؟»

If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?

خداوند در معبد مقدّس خویش است. تخت خدا در آسمان استوار است. او همه‌جا مراقب مردم است و هرچه می‌کنند، می‌داند.

The LORD is in his holy temple, the LORD'S throne is in heaven: his eyes behold, his eyelids try, the children of men.

خداوند مردم نیک و بد را یکسان مورد آزمایش قرار می‌دهد. او با تمام وجود از بدکاران بیزار است.

The LORD trieth the righteous: but the wicked and him that loveth violence his soul hateth.

بر شریران، باران آتش و گوگرد می‌فرستد و نصیب آنان، بادهای سوزاننده است.

Upon the wicked he shall rain snares, fire and brimstone, and an horrible tempest: this shall be the portion of their cup.

خداوند عادل است و نیکوکاران را دوست می‌دارد و درستکاران در پیشگاه او خواهند زیست.

For the righteous LORD loveth righteousness; his countenance doth behold the upright.
