Isaiah 55

خداوند می‌گوید: «ای تمام تشنگان بیایید، آب اینجاست! ای تمام کسانی‌که پول ندارید بیایید، غلّه بخرید و بخورید! بیایید، شیر و شراب را به رایگان بخرید!

Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.

چرا پول خود را صرف چیزی می‌کنید که شما را سیر نمی‌کند؟ و چرا تمام مزدی را که به‌خاطر کارتان می‌گیرید صرف می‌کنید، و باز هم گرسنه هستید؟ به من گوش دهید و هرچه می‌گویم انجام دهید، آنگاه از بهترین غذاها لذّت خواهید برد.

Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? and your labour for that which satisfieth not? hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness.

«ای قوم من، اکنون به من گوش دهید و نزد من بیایید، بیایید نزد من تا حیات یابید! من با شما پیمانی ابدی می‌بندم، و برکاتی را که به داوود قول داده بودم، به شما خواهم داد.

Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David.

من او را رهبر و فرماندهٔ ملّتها ساختم، و از طریق او، من قدرت خود را به آنها نشان دادم.

Behold, I have given him for a witness to the people, a leader and commander to the people.

اکنون ملّتهای بیگانه را احضار می‌کنم، آنها زمانی تو را نمی‌شناختند، امّا اکنون آنها به سوی تو می‌دوند تا به تو ملحق شوند. من، خداوند، خدای تو، خدای قدّوس اسرائیل همهٔ این کارها را خواهم کرد، و به تو شکوه و جلال خواهم داد.»

Behold, thou shalt call a nation that thou knowest not, and nations that knew not thee shall run unto thee because of the LORD thy God, and for the Holy One of Israel; for he hath glorified thee.

اکنون که خداوند نزدیک است، به نزد او بازگردید و به درگاه او دعا کنید.

Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:

شریران راههای خود را ترک کنند، و بدکاران افکار خود را تغییر دهند. بگذارید آنها به نزد خداوند، خدای ما بازگردند. او بر آنها رحیم و بخشنده خواهد بود.

Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

خداوند می‌گوید: «افکار من، افکار شما نیست و نه روشهای من، مثل روشهای شما.

For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.

همان‌قدر که آسمانها از زمین بلندتر هستند، همان‌قدر، افکار من از افکار شما بلندتر است.

For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

«کلمات من مانند برف و باران است که از آسمان می‌بارند، و زمین را سیراب می‌کنند، و موجب رشد غلاّت و تهیّهٔ بذر کافی برای کاشتن و تأمین غذا می‌شوند.

For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:

کلامی که از دهان من خارج می‌شود همین‌طور بیهوده نخواهد بود، نیّت و نقشهٔ مرا بدون غفلت به جا خواهد آورد.

So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

«شما با شادی بابل را ترک خواهید کرد، و در صلح و صفا از شهر خارج خواهید شد. کوهها و تلها آواز شادی سرمی‌دهند، و درختان از خوشحالی فریاد می‌کنند.

For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.

به جای خلنگ، درختان صنوبر می‌روید و به جای خار صنوبر. و این نشانه‌ای ابدی و خاطره‌ای خواهد بود از آنچه خداوند انجام داده است.»

Instead of the thorn shall come up the fir tree, and instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle tree: and it shall be to the LORD for a name, for an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off.
