Genesis 22

مدّتی بعد خدا ابراهیم‌ را امتحان‌ كرد و به‌ او فرمود: «ابراهیم‌» ابراهیم‌ جواب ‌داد: «بله‌ ای خداوند.»

And it came to pass after these things, that God did tempt Abraham, and said unto him, Abraham: and he said, Behold, here I am.

خدا فرمود: «پسر عزیزت‌ اسحاق‌ را كه ‌خیلی دوست‌ می‌داری‌، بردار و به‌ سرزمین‌ موریا برو. آنجا او را بر روی كوهی كه ‌به ‌تو نشان ‌خواهم‌ داد برای من ‌قربانی كن‌.»

And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of.

روز بعد، ابراهیم ‌صبح ‌زود بلند شد. مقداری هیزم‌ برای قربانی شكست ‌و آنها را بر روی الاغ‌ گذاشت‌. اسحاق ‌و دو نفر از نوكران ‌خود را برداشت‌ و به‌ طرف‌ جایی‌که ‌خدا فرموده‌ بود به ‌راه ‌افتاد.

And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and saddled his ass, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son, and clave the wood for the burnt offering, and rose up, and went unto the place of which God had told him.

روز سوم‌، ابراهیم‌ آن ‌محل ‌را از فاصلهٔ دور دید.

Then on the third day Abraham lifted up his eyes, and saw the place afar off.

به‌ نوكران‌ خود گفت‌: «اینجا پیش ‌الاغ ‌بمانید. من‌ و پسرم‌ به ‌آنجا می‌رویم ‌تا عبادت‌ كنیم‌. بعداً پیش ‌شما برمی‌گردیم‌.»

And Abraham said unto his young men, Abide ye here with the ass; and I and the lad will go yonder and worship, and come again to you.

ابراهیم ‌هیزمها را بر دوش‌ اسحاق ‌گذاشت ‌و خودش‌ كارد و آتش ‌برای روشن‌ كردن‌ هیزم ‌برداشت ‌و برای گذراندن ‌قربانی با هم ‌به ‌راه‌ افتادند.

And Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering, and laid it upon Isaac his son; and he took the fire in his hand, and a knife; and they went both of them together.

اسحاق ‌گفت‌: «پدر»، ابراهیم‌ جواب ‌داد: «بله‌ پسرم‌؟» اسحاق ‌پرسید: «می‌بینم ‌كه ‌تو آتش ‌و هیزم ‌داری‌، پس ‌برّه ‌برای قربانی كجاست‌؟»

And Isaac spake unto Abraham his father, and said, My father: and he said, Here am I, my son. And he said, Behold the fire and the wood: but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?

ابراهیم ‌جواب‌ داد: «خدا خودش‌ آن‌ را آماده‌ می‌كند.» هردوی آنها با هم ‌رفتند.

And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together.

وقتی آنها به‌ جایی رسیدند كه‌ خداوند فرموده ‌بود، ابراهیم‌ یک‌ قربانگاه‌ درست ‌كرد و هیزمها را روی آن‌ گذاشت‌. پسر خود را بست‌ و او را روی قربانگاه‌، روی هیزمها قرار داد.

And they came to the place which God had told him of; and Abraham built an altar there, and laid the wood in order, and bound Isaac his son, and laid him on the altar upon the wood.

سپس ‌چاقو را به ‌دست‌ گرفت ‌تا او را قربانی كند.

And Abraham stretched forth his hand, and took the knife to slay his son.

امّا فرشتهٔ خداوند، از آسمان ‌او را صدا كرد و گفت‌: «ابراهیم‌، ابراهیم‌» او جواب‌ داد: «بلی، ای خداوند.»

And the angel of the LORD called unto him out of heaven, and said, Abraham, Abraham: and he said, Here am I.

فرشته‌ گفت‌ «به ‌پسر خود صدمه ‌نزن‌ و هیچ‌كاری با او نكن‌. من ‌حالا فهمیدم‌ كه ‌تو از خدا اطاعت‌ می‌كنی و به‌ او احترام‌ می‌گذاری‌. زیرا تو پسر عزیز خود را از او مضایقه‌ نكردی‌.»

And he said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou any thing unto him: for now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son from me.

ابراهیم‌ به‌ طرف‌ صدا نگاه‌ كرد. قوچی را دید كه ‌شاخهایش ‌به‌ درختی گیر كرده ‌است‌. او رفت ‌و آن را گرفت ‌و به ‌عنوان‌ قربانی سوختنی به ‌جای پسرش ‌قربانی كرد.

And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold behind him a ram caught in a thicket by his horns: and Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering in the stead of his son.

ابراهیم‌ آنجا را «خداوند مهیّا می‌كند» نامید و حتّی امروز هم ‌مردم ‌می‌گویند «بر كوه خداوند، او مهیّا می‌كند.»

And Abraham called the name of that place Jehovah–jireh: as it is said to this day, In the mount of the LORD it shall be seen.

فرشتهٔ ‌خداوند، برای بار دوّم‌ از آسمان ‌ابراهیم‌ را صدا كرد و گفت‌:

And the angel of the LORD called unto Abraham out of heaven the second time,

«من ‌به ‌تو وعده ‌می‌دهم ‌و به ‌اسم ‌خودم ‌قسم ‌می‌خورم ‌كه ‌تو را به‌ فراوانی بركت‌ خواهم ‌داد. زیرا تو این‌كار را كردی و پسر عزیز خود را از من ‌مضایقه ‌نكردی‌.

And said, By myself have I sworn, saith the LORD, for because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son:

من ‌قول‌ می‌دهم ‌كه ‌نسل‌ تو را مانند ستارگان‌ آسمان‌ و شنهای ساحل دریا زیاد كنم‌. نسلهای تو بر دشمنان ‌خود پیروز خواهند شد.

That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies;

تمام‌ ملّتها از من ‌خواهند خواست‌، همان‌طور كه ‌نسل ‌تو را بركت ‌داده‌ام، نسل‌ آنها را هم‌ بركت‌ دهم‌. فقط ‌به‌ خاطر اینکه ‌تو از من ‌اطاعت‌ كردی‌.»

And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice.

ابراهیم ‌پیش ‌نوكران ‌خود برگشت ‌و آنها با هم ‌به ‌بئرشبع‌ رفتند و ابراهیم‌ در آنجا ساكن ‌شد.

So Abraham returned unto his young men, and they rose up and went together to Beer–sheba; and Abraham dwelt at Beer–sheba.

بعد از مدّتی ابراهیم ‌شنید كه ‌مِلْكَه ‌هشت ‌فرزند برای برادرش‌ ناحور به دنیا آورده ‌است‌:

And it came to pass after these things, that it was told Abraham, saying, Behold, Milcah, she hath also born children unto thy brother Nahor;

عوز كه ‌نخستزاده ‌است ‌و برادرش‌ بوز و كموئیل ‌پدر اَرام‌،

Huz his firstborn, and Buz his brother, and Kemuel the father of Aram,

كاسد، هازو، پیلداش‌، جیدلاف ‌و بتوئیل‌

And Chesed, and Hazo, and Pildash, and Jidlaph, and Bethuel.

كه ‌پدر ربكاست‌. ملكه ‌این‌ هشت ‌پسر را برای ناحور برادر ابراهیم به دنیا آورد.

And Bethuel begat Rebekah: these eight Milcah did bear to Nahor, Abraham's brother.

رئومه‌ زن‌ صیغه‌ای ناحور نیز تیباه‌، جاهام‌، تاهاش ‌و مَعكه ‌را به دنیا آورد.

And his concubine, whose name was Reumah, she bare also Tebah, and Gaham, and Thahash, and Maachah.
