Deuteronomy 30

«من اکنون بین برکت و لعنت به شما حق انتخاب داده‌ام. هنگامی‌که همهٔ این وقایع بر شما روی داد، و در میان اقوامی زندگی کنید که خداوند شما را در میان آنها پراکنده گرداند، سخنان مرا به‌یاد خواهید آورد.

And it shall come to pass, when all these things are come upon thee, the blessing and the curse, which I have set before thee, and thou shalt call them to mind among all the nations, whither the LORD thy God hath driven thee,

اگر شما و فرزندانتان به سوی خداوند بازگردید و از فرمانهای خداوند با دل و جان پیروی کنید،

And shalt return unto the LORD thy God, and shalt obey his voice according to all that I command thee this day, thou and thy children, with all thine heart, and with all thy soul;

آنگاه خداوند خدایتان، شما را از اسارت آزاد می‌سازد و بر شما رحم می‌کند و شما را که در بین اقوام بیگانه، پراکنده کرده است، دوباره جمع و کامیاب می‌کند.

That then the LORD thy God will turn thy captivity, and have compassion upon thee, and will return and gather thee from all the nations, whither the LORD thy God hath scattered thee.

حتّی اگر شما در دورترین نقاط جهان پراکنده باشید، خداوند خدایتان شما را گرد هم خواهد آورد و بازخواهد گرداند.

If any of thine be driven out unto the outmost parts of heaven, from thence will the LORD thy God gather thee, and from thence will he fetch thee:

او شما را بار دیگر به سرزمینی که به اجدادتان تعلّق داشت می‌آورد تا آن را تصاحب کنید. شما را بیشتر از اجدادتان کامران می‌سازد و به تعداد شما می‌افزاید.

And the LORD thy God will bring thee into the land which thy fathers possessed, and thou shalt possess it; and he will do thee good, and multiply thee above thy fathers.

خداوند خدایتان به شما و فرزندانتان دلهای پاک و فرمانبردار عطا می‌کند تا خداوند خدایتان را از دل و جان دوست بدارید و در آن سرزمین همیشه زندگی کنید.

And the LORD thy God will circumcise thine heart, and the heart of thy seed, to love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, that thou mayest live.

او همهٔ این لعنتها را علیه دشمنان شما متوجّه خواهد کرد، کسانی‌که از شما متنفّر بودند و به شما ظلم کردند.

And the LORD thy God will put all these curses upon thine enemies, and on them that hate thee, which persecuted thee.

شما دوباره مطیع خداوند می‌شوید و از احکامی ‌که امروز به شما می‌دهم پیروی می‌کنید.

And thou shalt return and obey the voice of the LORD, and do all his commandments which I command thee this day.

خداوند شما را در همهٔ کارهایتان کامیاب خواهد کرد. فرزندان زیاد به شما عطا می‌کند و گلّه و رمه و محصولات زمینتان را فروان می‌سازد. او از کامیاب نمودن شما به همان اندازه‌ای خوشحال می‌شود که از کامیاب نمودن نیاکانتان خوشحال بود.

And the LORD thy God will make thee plenteous in every work of thine hand, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy land, for good: for the LORD will again rejoice over thee for good, as he rejoiced over thy fathers:

ولی شما باید از او پیروی کنید و تمام فرمانهایی را که در کتاب آموزشی او نوشته شده، بجا آورید. شما باید با تمام دل و جان به سوی او بازگردید.

If thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to keep his commandments and his statutes which are written in this book of the law, and if thou turn unto the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul.

«فرمانهایی که امروز به شما می‌دهم، بسیار دشوار و غیر ممکن نیست.

For this commandment which I command thee this day, it is not hidden from thee, neither is it far off.

در آسمان قرار ندارند که بگویید: 'چه کسی می‌تواند به آسمان برود و آنها را برای ما بیاورد تا بشنویم و از آنها اطاعت کنیم؟'

It is not in heaven, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go up for us to heaven, and bring it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it?

و نه در آن ‌سوی دریا هستند که بگویید: 'کیست که بتواند به آن طرف دریا عبور کند و آنها را برای ما بیاورد تا بشنویم و از آنها اطاعت کنیم؟'

Neither is it beyond the sea, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go over the sea for us, and bring it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it?

این قوانین بسیار به شما نزدیكند. آنها در دهان و قلب شما هستند تا بتوانید آنها را بجا آورید.

But the word is very nigh unto thee, in thy mouth, and in thy heart, that thou mayest do it.

«ببینید، من امروز در برابر شما زندگی و نیکی، مرگ و بدبختی را قرار می‌دهم.

See, I have set before thee this day life and good, and death and evil;

اگر از احکام خداوند خدایتان که امروز به شما می‌دهم اطاعت کنید، او را دوست بدارید، در راه او قدم بردارید و اوامر، قوانین و دستورات او را بجا آورید، آنگاه عمر طولانی خواهید داشت. به تعدادتان افزوده می‌شود و خداوند خدایتان در سرزمینی که وارد می‌شوید، به شما برکت می‌دهد.

In that I command thee this day to love the LORD thy God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commandments and his statutes and his judgments, that thou mayest live and multiply: and the LORD thy God shall bless thee in the land whither thou goest to possess it.

امّا اگر نافرمانی کنید و گوش ندهید، به دنبال خدایان دیگر بروید و آنها را بپرستید،

But if thine heart turn away, so that thou wilt not hear, but shalt be drawn away, and worship other gods, and serve them;

حالا من در اینجا به شما اخطار می‌کنم، شما نابود خواهید شد و در سرزمینی که در آن سوی رود اردن اشغال خواهید کرد، چندان دوام نخواهید آورد.

I denounce unto you this day, that ye shall surely perish, and that ye shall not prolong your days upon the land, whither thou passest over Jordan to go to possess it.

من آسمان و زمین را شاهد می‌گیرم که امروز زندگی و مرگ، برکت و لعنت را در برابر شما قرار داده‌ام. پس زندگی را انتخاب کنید تا شما و فرزندانتان زنده بمانید.

I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:

خداوند خدایتان را دوست بدارید، از او اطاعت کنید و به او وفادار بمانید، زیرا که او وسیلهٔ حیات شماست و به شما و فرزندانتان در آن سرزمینی که به اجدادتان، ابراهیم، اسحاق و یعقوب وعده فرموده است عمر طولانی خواهد ‌داد.»

That thou mayest love the LORD thy God, and that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him: for he is thy life, and the length of thy days: that thou mayest dwell in the land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.
