Judges 12

Тогава мъжете от Ефрем се събраха и тръгнаха на север и казаха на Ефтай: Ти защо премина да се биеш срещу синовете на Амон и не ни повика да дойдем с теб? Ще изгорим къщата ти отгоре ти с огън!

And the men of Ephraim gathered themselves together, and went northward, and said unto Jephthah, Wherefore passedst thou over to fight against the children of Ammon, and didst not call us to go with thee? we will burn thine house upon thee with fire.

А Ефтай им каза: Аз и народът ми бяхме в голяма борба със синовете на Амон; и аз ви повиках, но вие не ме избавихте от ръката им.

And Jephthah said unto them, I and my people were at great strife with the children of Ammon; and when I called you, ye delivered me not out of their hands.

И когато видях, че няма да ме избавиш, взех живота си в ръката си и преминах срещу синовете на Амон, и ГОСПОД ги предаде в ръката ми. Защо сте дошли днес срещу мен, за да се биете с мен?

And when I saw that ye delivered me not, I put my life in my hands, and passed over against the children of Ammon, and the LORD delivered them into my hand: wherefore then are ye come up unto me this day, to fight against me?

И Ефтай събра всичките галаадски мъже и се би срещу Ефрем и галаадските мъже разбиха Ефрем, защото те казаха: Бежанци от Ефрем сте вие, галаадци, живеещи сред Ефрем и сред Манасия!

Then Jephthah gathered together all the men of Gilead, and fought with Ephraim: and the men of Gilead smote Ephraim, because they said, Ye Gileadites are fugitives of Ephraim among the Ephraimites, and among the Manassites.

И галаадците плениха бродовете на Йордан срещу Ефрем. И когато някой от ефремските бежанци кажеше: Оставете ме да премина! — тогава галаадските мъже му казваха: Ти ефремец ли си?

And the Gileadites took the passages of Jordan before the Ephraimites: and it was so, that when those Ephraimites which were escaped said, Let me go over; that the men of Gilead said unto him, Art thou an Ephraimite? If he said, Nay;

И ако той кажеше: Не съм! — те му казваха: Кажи тогава шиболет. Но той казваше сиболет, защото не можеше да го произнесе правилно. Тогава го хващаха и го убиваха при бродовете на Йордан. Така по онова време паднаха четиридесет и две хиляди души от Ефрем.

Then said they unto him, Say now Shibboleth: and he said Sibboleth: for he could not frame to pronounce it right. Then they took him, and slew him at the passages of Jordan: and there fell at that time of the Ephraimites forty and two thousand.

И Ефтай съди Израил шест години. После галаадецът Ефтай умря и беше погребан в един от галаадските градове.

And Jephthah judged Israel six years. Then died Jephthah the Gileadite, and was buried in one of the cities of Gilead.

А след него Ивцан от Витлеем съди Израил.

And after him Ibzan of Beth–lehem judged Israel.

Той имаше тридесет сина и тридесет дъщери, които омъжи навън; и доведе тридесет дъщери отвън за синовете си. Той съди Израил седем години.

And he had thirty sons, and thirty daughters, whom he sent abroad, and took in thirty daughters from abroad for his sons. And he judged Israel seven years.

И Ивцан умря и беше погребан във Витлеем.

Then died Ibzan, and was buried at Beth–lehem.

След него завулонецът Елон съди Израил. Той съди Израил десет години.

And after him Elon, a Zebulonite, judged Israel; and he judged Israel ten years.

И завулонецът Елон умря и беше погребан при Еалон в земята на Завулон.

And Elon the Zebulonite died, and was buried in Aijalon in the country of Zebulun.

А след него Авдон, синът на пиратонеца Илел, съди Израил.

And after him Abdon the son of Hillel, a Pirathonite, judged Israel.

Той имаше четиридесет сина и тридесет внуци, които яздеха на седемдесет магаренца. Той съди Израил осем години.

And he had forty sons and thirty nephews, that rode on threescore and ten ass colts: and he judged Israel eight years.

После Авдон, синът на пиратонеца Илел, умря и беше погребан в Пиратон в земята на Ефрем, в хълмистата земя на амаличаните.

And Abdon the son of Hillel the Pirathonite died, and was buried in Pirathon in the land of Ephraim, in the mount of the Amalekites.
