I Kings 17

А тесвиецът Илия, който беше от жителите на Галаад, каза на Ахав: Жив е ГОСПОД, Израилевият Бог, пред когото стоя — тези години няма да има нито роса, нито дъжд, освен по моята дума!

And Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the inhabitants of Gilead, said unto Ahab, As the LORD God of Israel liveth, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word.

И ГОСПОДНОТО слово беше към него и каза:

And the word of the LORD came unto him, saying,

Иди си оттук и се обърни на изток, и се скрий при потока Херит, който е пред Йордан.

Get thee hence, and turn thee eastward, and hide thyself by the brook Cherith, that is before Jordan.

И ще пиеш от потока, а Аз заповядах на враните да те хранят там.

And it shall be, that thou shalt drink of the brook; and I have commanded the ravens to feed thee there.

И той отиде и направи според ГОСПОДНОТО слово; отиде и остана при потока Херит, който е пред Йордан.

So he went and did according unto the word of the LORD: for he went and dwelt by the brook Cherith, that is before Jordan.

И враните му носеха хляб и месо сутрин и хляб и месо вечер и той пиеше от потока.

And the ravens brought him bread and flesh in the morning, and bread and flesh in the evening; and he drank of the brook.

А след известно време потокът пресъхна, понеже нямаше дъжд в земята.

And it came to pass after a while, that the brook dried up, because there had been no rain in the land.

Тогава ГОСПОДНОТО слово беше към него и каза:

And the word of the LORD came unto him, saying,

Стани, иди в Сарепта Сидонска и остани там. Ето, Аз заповядах на една вдовица там да те храни.

Arise, get thee to Zarephath, which belongeth to Zidon, and dwell there: behold, I have commanded a widow woman there to sustain thee.

И той стана и отиде в Сарепта. И когато дойде до портата на града, ето, там беше една вдовица, която събираше дърва. И той извика към нея и каза: Моля те, донеси ми малко вода в съд, за да пия!

So he arose and went to Zarephath. And when he came to the gate of the city, behold, the widow woman was there gathering of sticks: and he called to her, and said, Fetch me, I pray thee, a little water in a vessel, that I may drink.

И докато тя отиваше да донесе, той извика към нея и каза: Моля те, донеси ми и залък хляб в ръката си!

And as she was going to fetch it, he called to her, and said, Bring me, I pray thee, a morsel of bread in thine hand.

А тя каза: Жив е ГОСПОД, твоят Бог — нямам пита, а само една шепа брашно в делвата и малко масло в стомната; и ето, събирам няколко дръвца, и ще ида да го приготвя за мен и за сина ми, за да го изядем и после да умрем.

And she said, As the LORD thy God liveth, I have not a cake, but an handful of meal in a barrel, and a little oil in a cruse: and, behold, I am gathering two sticks, that I may go in and dress it for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die.

А Илия й каза: Не се бой; влез и направи както каза. Но първо ми направи една малка питка от него и ми донеси, и след това направи за себе си и за сина си.

And Elijah said unto her, Fear not; go and do as thou hast said: but make me thereof a little cake first, and bring it unto me, and after make for thee and for thy son.

Защото така казва ГОСПОД, Израилевият Бог: Делвата с брашното няма да свърши и стомната с маслото няма да намалее до деня, когато ГОСПОД изпрати дъжд по лицето на земята.

For thus saith the LORD God of Israel, The barrel of meal shall not waste, neither shall the cruse of oil fail, until the day that the LORD sendeth rain upon the earth.

И тя отиде и направи според словото на Илия; и тя, и той, и домът й ядоха много дни.

And she went and did according to the saying of Elijah: and she, and he, and her house, did eat many days.

Делвата с брашното не свърши и стомната с маслото не намаля според словото на ГОСПОДА, което Той говори чрез Илия.

And the barrel of meal wasted not, neither did the cruse of oil fail, according to the word of the LORD, which he spake by Elijah.

А след това синът на жената, стопанката на къщата, се разболя и болестта му беше толкова тежка, че в него не остана дъх.

And it came to pass after these things, that the son of the woman, the mistress of the house, fell sick; and his sickness was so sore, that there was no breath left in him.

Тогава тя каза на Илия: Какво общо имам аз с теб, Божи човече? Ти си дошъл при мен, за да ми припомниш греха ми и да умориш сина ми!

And she said unto Elijah, What have I to do with thee, O thou man of God? art thou come unto me to call my sin to remembrance, and to slay my son?

А той й каза: Дай ми сина си. И той го взе от скута й и го занесе в горната стая, където живееше, и го положи на леглото си.

And he said unto her, Give me thy son. And he took him out of her bosom, and carried him up into a loft, where he abode, and laid him upon his own bed.

И извика към ГОСПОДА и каза: ГОСПОДИ, Боже мой, зло ли правиш и на вдовицата, при която живея, като уморяваш сина й?

And he cried unto the LORD, and said, O LORD my God, hast thou also brought evil upon the widow with whom I sojourn, by slaying her son?

И той се простря три пъти върху детето и извика към ГОСПОДА, и каза: ГОСПОДИ, Боже мой, моля Те, нека душата на това дете се върне в него!

And he stretched himself upon the child three times, and cried unto the LORD, and said, O LORD my God, I pray thee, let this child's soul come into him again.

И ГОСПОД чу гласа на Илия и душата на детето се върна в него и то се съживи.

And the LORD heard the voice of Elijah; and the soul of the child came into him again, and he revived.

И Илия взе детето и го свали от горната стая в къщата, и го даде на майка му. И Илия каза: Ето, синът ти е жив!

And Elijah took the child, and brought him down out of the chamber into the house, and delivered him unto his mother: and Elijah said, See, thy son liveth.

Тогава жената каза на Илия: Сега познавам, че си Божи човек и че ГОСПОДНОТО слово в устата ти е истина.

And the woman said to Elijah, Now by this I know that thou art a man of God, and that the word of the LORD in thy mouth is truth.
