Zephaniah 1

Ny tenin'i Jehovah, izay tonga tamin'i Zefania, zanak'i Kosy, zanak'i Gedalia, zanak'i Amaria, zanak'i Hezekia, tamin'ny andro nanjakan'i Josia, zanak'i Amona, mpanjakan'ny Joda.

The word of the LORD which came unto Zephaniah the son of Cushi, the son of Gedaliah, the son of Amariah, the son of Hizkiah, in the days of Josiah the son of Amon, king of Judah.

Hakifako tokoa ny zavatra rehetra tsy ho eny ambonin'ny tany, hoy Jehovah;

I will utterly consume all things from off the land, saith the LORD.

Eny, hakifako ny olona sy ny biby; Hakifako ny vorona eny amin'ny habakabaka sy ny hazandrano any an-dranomasina. Ary ny zavatra mahatafintohina mbamin'ny ratsy fanahy, Haringako tsy ho amin'ny tany ny olona, hoy Jehovah.

I will consume man and beast; I will consume the fowls of the heaven, and the fishes of the sea, and the stumblingblocks with the wicked; and I will cut off man from off the land, saith the LORD.

Ary hahinjitro ny tanako hamely ny Joda sy ny mponina rehetra any Jerosalema; Dia haringako tsy ho eo amin'ity tany ity ny sisa amin'i Bala, Sy ny anaran'ny mpisorona amin'ny andriamani-tsi-izy mbamin'ny tena mpisorona,

I will also stretch out mine hand upon Judah, and upon all the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and I will cut off the remnant of Baal from this place, and the name of the Chemarims with the priests;

Sy izay mivavaka any an-tampon-trano amin'izay eny amin'ny lanitra,Ary izay miankohoka sy mianiana ho an'i Jehovah Sady mianiana amin'i Malkama,

And them that worship the host of heaven upon the housetops; and them that worship and that swear by the LORD, and that swear by Malcham;

Ary izay nihemotra niala tamin'i Jehovah, Sy izay tsy nitady an'i Jehovah na nanontany taminy.

And them that are turned back from the LORD; and those that have not sought the LORD, nor enquired for him.

Mangina eo anatrehan'i Jehovah Tompo! Fa efa antomotra ny andron'i Jehovah; Fa Jehovah efa niomana hamono zavatra hatao fanatitra Ka efa nanamasina ny olona nasainy.

Hold thy peace at the presence of the Lord GOD: for the day of the LORD is at hand: for the LORD hath prepared a sacrifice, he hath bid his guests.

Ary raha mby amin'ny andro hamonoan'i Jehovah zavatra hatao fanatitra, Dia hovaliako ny lehibe sy ny zanak'andriana Mbamin'izay rehetra mitafy ny fitafin'ny firenena hafa.

And it shall come to pass in the day of the LORD'S sacrifice, that I will punish the princes, and the king's children, and all such as are clothed with strange apparel.

Ary amin'izany andro izany dia hovaliako izay rehetra miezaka mihoatra ny tokonana, Dia ireo mameno loza sy fitaka ny tranon'ny tompony.

In the same day also will I punish all those that leap on the threshold, which fill their masters' houses with violence and deceit.

Ary amin'izany andro izany, hoy Jehovah, Dia hisy feo re mitaraina any am-bavahadin-kazandrano, Sy fidradradradrana ao amin'ny tanàna ambany, Ary fidarabohana miezinezina any amin'ny havoana.

And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the LORD, that there shall be the noise of a cry from the fish gate, and an howling from the second, and a great crashing from the hills.

Midradradradrà, ianareo mponina ao Maktesy; Fa ringana avokoa ny mpandranto rehetra, Eny, lany ringana izay rehetra nivesatra volafotsy.

Howl, ye inhabitants of Maktesh, for all the merchant people are cut down; all they that bear silver are cut off.

And it shall come to pass at that time, that I will search Jerusalem with candles, and punish the men that are settled on their lees: that say in their heart, The LORD will not do good, neither will he do evil.

Ka dia ho tonga babo ny fananan'ireny, Ary ho lao ny tranony; Dia hanao trano izy, nefa tsy hitoetra ao, Hamboly voaloboka izy, nefa tsy hisotro ny divay avy aminy.

Therefore their goods shall become a booty, and their houses a desolation: they shall also build houses, but not inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, but not drink the wine thereof.

Efa antomotra ny andro lehiben'i Jehovah; Eny, efa antomotra sady mihafaingana indrindra, Injay! feon'ny andron'i Jehovah! Ny lehilahy mahery dia mitomany mafy any.

The great day of the LORD is near, it is near, and hasteth greatly, even the voice of the day of the LORD: the mighty man shall cry there bitterly.

Andro fahatezerana izany andro izany, Andro fahoriana sy fahalahelovana, Andro fandravana sy fanafoanana, Andro maizina sy manjombona, Andro mandrahona sy maizim-pito.

That day is a day of wrath, a day of trouble and distress, a day of wasteness and desolation, a day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness,

Andro fahaveloman'ny anjomara sy ny akora, Hamelezana ny tanàna mimanda sy ny tilikambo avo eny amin'ny zorony.

A day of the trumpet and alarm against the fenced cities, and against the high towers.

Ary hampahory ny olona Aho, Handehanany toy ny jamba, Satria efa nanota tamin'i Jehovah izy; Ny ràny dia haidina toy ny vovoka, Ary ny nofony ho toy ny zezika.

And I will bring distress upon men, that they shall walk like blind men, because they have sinned against the LORD: and their blood shall be poured out as dust, and their flesh as the dung.

Na ny volafotsiny na ny volamenany dia samy tsy hahavonjy azy amin'ny andro fahatezeran'i Jehovah, Fa holevonin'ny afon'ny  fahasaro-piarony ny tany rehetra; Fa fahafonganana, eny, fahafonganana tampoka tokoa no hataony amin'ny mponina amin'ny tany.

Neither their silver nor their gold shall be able to deliver them in the day of the LORD'S wrath; but the whole land shall be devoured by the fire of his jealousy: for he shall make even a speedy riddance of all them that dwell in the land.
