Jeremiah 12

12:1

Righteous art thou, O LORD, when I plead with thee: yet let me talk with thee of thy judgments: Wherefore doth the way of the wicked prosper? wherefore are all they happy that deal very treacherously?

اے رب، تُو ہمیشہ حق پر ہے، لہٰذا عدالت میں تجھ سے شکایت کرنے کا کیا فائدہ؟ تاہم مَیں اپنا معاملہ تجھے پیش کرنا چاہتا ہوں۔ بےدینوں کو اِتنی کامیابی کیوں حاصل ہوتی ہے؟ غدار اِتنے سکون سے زندگی کیوں گزارتے ہیں؟

12:2

Thou hast planted them, yea, they have taken root: they grow, yea, they bring forth fruit: thou art near in their mouth, and far from their reins.

تُو نے اُنہیں زمین میں لگا دیا، اور اب وہ جڑ پکڑ کر خوب اُگنے لگے بلکہ پھل بھی لا رہے ہیں۔ گو تیرا نام اُن کی زبان پر رہتا ہے، لیکن اُن کا دل تجھ سے دُور ہے۔

12:3

But thou, O LORD, knowest me: thou hast seen me, and tried mine heart toward thee: pull them out like sheep for the slaughter, and prepare them for the day of slaughter.

لیکن اے رب، تُو مجھے جانتا ہے۔ تُو میرا ملاحظہ کر کے میرے دل کو پرکھتا رہتا ہے۔ گزارش ہے کہ تُو اُنہیں بھیڑوں کی طرح گھسیٹ کر ذبح کرنے کے لئے لے جا۔ اُنہیں قتل و غارت کے دن کے لئے مخصوص کر!

12:4

How long shall the land mourn, and the herbs of every field wither, for the wickedness of them that dwell therein? the beasts are consumed, and the birds; because they said, He shall not see our last end.

ملک کب تک کال کی گرفت میں رہے گا؟ کھیتوں میں ہریالی کب تک مُرجھائی ہوئی نظر آئے گی؟ باشندوں کی بُرائی کے باعث جانور اور پرندے غائب ہو گئے ہیں۔ کیونکہ لوگ کہتے ہیں، ”اللہ کو نہیں معلوم کہ ہمارے ساتھ کیا ہو جائے گا۔“

12:5

If thou hast run with the footmen, and they have wearied thee, then how canst thou contend with horses? and if in the land of peace, wherein thou trustedst, they wearied thee, then how wilt thou do in the swelling of Jordan?

رب مجھ سے ہم کلام ہوا، ”پیدل چلنے والوں سے دوڑ کا مقابلہ کرنا تجھے تھکا دیتا ہے، تو پھر تُو کس طرح گھوڑوں کا مقابلہ کرے گا؟ تُو اپنے آپ کو صرف وہاں محفوظ سمجھتا ہے جہاں چاروں طرف امن و امان پھیلا ہوا ہے، تو پھر تُو دریائے یردن کے گنجان جنگل سے کس طرح نپٹے گا؟

12:6

For even thy brethren, and the house of thy father, even they have dealt treacherously with thee; yea, they have called a multitude after thee: believe them not, though they speak fair words unto thee.

کیونکہ تیرے سگے بھائی، ہاں تیرے باپ کا گھر بھی تجھ سے بےوفا ہو گیا ہے۔ یہ بھی بلند آواز سے تیرے پیچھے تجھے گالیاں دیتے ہیں۔ اُن پر اعتماد مت کرنا، خواہ وہ تیرے ساتھ اچھی باتیں کیوں نہ کریں۔

12:7

I have forsaken mine house, I have left mine heritage; I have given the dearly beloved of my soul into the hand of her enemies.

مَیں نے اپنے گھر اسرائیل کو ترک کر دیا ہے۔ جو میری موروثی ملکیت تھی اُسے مَیں نے رد کیا ہے۔ مَیں نے اپنے لختِ جگر کو اُس کے دشمنوں کے حوالے کر دیا ہے۔

12:8

Mine heritage is unto me as a lion in the forest; it crieth out against me: therefore have I hated it.

کیونکہ میری قوم جو میری موروثی ملکیت ہے میرے ساتھ بُرا سلوک کرتی ہے۔ جنگل میں شیرببر کی طرح وہ میرے خلاف دہاڑتی ہے، اِس لئے مَیں اُس سے نفرت کرتا ہوں۔

12:9

Mine heritage is unto me as a speckled bird, the birds round about are against her; come ye, assemble all the beasts of the field, come to devour.

اب میری موروثی ملکیت اُس رنگین شکاری پرندے کی مانند ہے جسے دیگر شکاری پرندوں نے گھیر رکھا ہے۔ جاؤ، تمام درندوں کو اکٹھا کرو تاکہ وہ آ کر اُسے کھا جائیں۔
