Isaiah 53

Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed?

لیکن کون ہمارے پیغام پر ایمان لایا؟ اور رب کی قدرت کس پر ظاہر ہوئی؟

For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.

اُس کے سامنے وہ کونپل کی طرح پھوٹ نکلا، اُس تازہ اور ملائم شگوفے کی طرح جو خشک زمین میں چھپی ہوئی جڑ سے نکل کر پھلنے پھولنے لگتی ہے۔ نہ وہ خوب صورت تھا، نہ شاندار۔ ہم نے اُسے دیکھا تو اُس کی شکل و صورت میں کچھ نہیں تھا جو ہمیں پسند آتا۔

He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.

اُسے حقیر اور مردود سمجھا جاتا تھا۔ دُکھ اور بیماریاں اُس کی ساتھی رہیں، اور لوگ یہاں تک اُس کی تحقیر کرتے تھے کہ اُسے دیکھ کر اپنا منہ پھیر لیتے تھے۔ ہم اُس کی کچھ قدر نہیں کرتے تھے۔

Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.

لیکن اُس نے ہماری ہی بیماریاں اُٹھا لیں، ہمارا ہی دُکھ بھگت لیا۔ توبھی ہم سمجھے کہ یہ اُس کی مناسب سزا ہے، کہ اللہ نے خود اُسے مار کر خاک میں ملا دیا ہے۔

But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

لیکن اُسے ہمارے ہی جرائم کے سبب سے چھیدا گیا، ہمارے ہی گناہوں کی خاطر کچلا گیا۔ اُسے سزا ملی تاکہ ہمیں سلامتی حاصل ہو، اور اُسی کے زخموں سے ہمیں شفا ملی۔

All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

ہم سب بھیڑبکریوں کی طرح آوارہ پھر رہے تھے، ہر ایک نے اپنی اپنی راہ اختیار کی۔ لیکن رب نے اُسے ہم سب کے قصور کا نشانہ بنایا۔

He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.

اُس پر ظلم ہوا، لیکن اُس نے سب کچھ برداشت کیا اور اپنا منہ نہ کھولا، اُس بھیڑ کی طرح جسے ذبح کرنے کے لئے لے جاتے ہیں۔ جس طرح لیلا بال کترنے والوں کے سامنے خاموش رہتا ہے اُسی طرح اُس نے اپنا منہ نہ کھولا۔

He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken.

اُسے ظلم اور عدالت کے ہاتھ سے چھین لیا گیا۔ اب کون اُس کی نسل کا خیال کرے گا؟ کیونکہ اُس کا زندوں کے ملک سے تعلق کٹ گیا ہے۔ اپنی قوم کے جرم کے سبب سے وہ سزا کا نشانہ بن گیا۔

And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth.

مقرر یہ ہوا کہ اُس کی قبر بےدینوں کے پاس ہو، کہ وہ مرتے وقت ایک امیر کے پاس دفنایا جائے، گو نہ اُس نے تشدد کیا، نہ اُس کے منہ میں فریب تھا۔

Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand.

لیکن رب ہی کی مرضی تھی کہ اُسے کچلا جائے۔ اُسی نے اُسے دُکھ کا نشانہ بنایا۔ اور گو رب اُس کی جان کے ذریعے کفارہ دے گا توبھی وہ اپنے فرزندوں کو دیکھے گا۔ رب اُس کے دنوں میں اضافہ کرے گا، اور وہ رب کی مرضی کو پورا کرنے میں کامیاب ہو گا۔

He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.

اِتنی تکلیف برداشت کرنے کے بعد اُسے پھل نظر آئے گا، اور وہ سیر ہو جائے گا۔ اپنے علم سے میرا راست خادم بہتوں کا انصاف قائم کرے گا، کیونکہ وہ اُن کے گناہوں کو اپنے اوپر اُٹھا کر دُور کر دے گا۔

Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.

اِس لئے مَیں اُسے بڑوں میں حصہ دوں گا، اور وہ زورآوروں کے ساتھ لُوٹ کا مال تقسیم کرے گا۔ کیونکہ اُس نے اپنی جان کو موت کے حوالے کر دیا، اور اُسے مجرموں میں شمار کیا گیا۔ ہاں، اُس نے بہتوں کا گناہ اُٹھا کر دُور کر دیا اور مجرموں کی شفاعت کی۔
