Hosea 3

Then said the LORD unto me, Go yet, love a woman beloved of her friend, yet an adulteress, according to the love of the LORD toward the children of Israel, who look to other gods, and love flagons of wine.

رب مجھ سے ہم کلام ہوا، ”جا، اپنی بیوی کو دوبارہ پیار کر، حالانکہ اُس کا عاشق ہے جس سے اُس نے زنا کیا ہے۔ اُسے یوں پیار کر جس طرح رب اسرائیلیوں کو پیار کرتا ہے، حالانکہ اُن کا رُخ دیگر معبودوں کی طرف ہے اور اُنہیں اُن ہی کی انگور کی ٹکیاں پسند ہیں۔“

So I bought her to me for fifteen pieces of silver, and for an homer of barley, and an half homer of barley:

تب مَیں نے چاندی کے 15 سِکے اور جَو کے 195 کلو گرام دے کر اُسے واپس خرید لیا۔

And I said unto her, Thou shalt abide for me many days; thou shalt not play the harlot, and thou shalt not be for another man: so will I also be for thee.

مَیں نے اُس سے کہا، ”اب تجھے بڑے عرصے تک میرے ساتھ رہنا ہے۔ اِتنے میں نہ زنا کر، نہ کسی آدمی سے صحبت رکھ۔ مَیں بھی بڑی دیر تک تجھ سے ہم بستر نہیں ہوں گا۔“

For the children of Israel shall abide many days without a king, and without a prince, and without a sacrifice, and without an image, and without an ephod, and without teraphim:

اسرائیل کا یہی حال ہو گا۔ بڑی دیر تک نہ اُن کا بادشاہ ہو گا، نہ راہنما، نہ قربانی کا انتظام، نہ یادگار پتھر، نہ امام کا بالاپوش۔ اُن کے پاس بُت تک بھی نہیں ہوں گے۔

Afterward shall the children of Israel return, and seek the LORD their God, and David their king; and shall fear the LORD and his goodness in the latter days.

اِس کے بعد اسرائیلی واپس آ کر رب اپنے خدا اور داؤد اپنے بادشاہ کو تلاش کریں گے۔ آخری دنوں میں وہ لرزتے ہوئے رب اور اُس کی بھلائی کی طرف رجوع کریں گے۔
