Ezekiel 9

He cried also in mine ears with a loud voice, saying, Cause them that have charge over the city to draw near, even every man with his destroying weapon in his hand.

پھر مَیں نے اللہ کی بلند آواز سنی، ”یروشلم کی عدالت قریب آ گئی ہے! آؤ، ہر ایک اپنا تباہ کن ہتھیار پکڑ کر کھڑا ہو جائے!“

And, behold, six men came from the way of the higher gate, which lieth toward the north, and every man a slaughter weapon in his hand; and one man among them was clothed with linen, with a writer's inkhorn by his side: and they went in, and stood beside the brasen altar.

تب چھ آدمی رب کے گھر کے شمالی دروازے میں داخل ہوئے۔ ہر ایک اپنا تباہ کن ہتھیار تھامے چل رہا تھا۔ اُن کے ساتھ ایک اَور آدمی تھا جس کا لباس کتان سے بنا ہوا تھا۔ اُس کے پٹکے سے کاتب کا سامان لٹکا ہوا تھا۔ یہ آدمی قریب آ کر پیتل کی قربان گاہ کے پاس کھڑے ہو گئے۔

And the glory of the God of Israel was gone up from the cherub, whereupon he was, to the threshold of the house. And he called to the man clothed with linen, which had the writer's inkhorn by his side;

اسرائیل کے خدا کا جلال اب تک کروبی فرشتوں کے اوپر ٹھہرا ہوا تھا۔ اب وہ وہاں سے اُڑ کر رب کے گھر کی دہلیز کے پاس رُک گیا۔ پھر رب کتان سے ملبّس اُس مرد سے ہم کلام ہوا جس کے پٹکے سے کاتب کا سامان لٹکا ہوا تھا۔

And the LORD said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof.

اُس نے فرمایا، ”جا، یروشلم شہر میں سے گزر کر ہر ایک کے ماتھے پر نشان لگا دے جو باشندوں کی تمام مکروہ حرکتوں کو دیکھ کر آہ و زاری کرتا ہے۔“

And to the others he said in mine hearing, Go ye after him through the city, and smite: let not your eye spare, neither have ye pity:

میرے سنتے سنتے رب نے دیگر آدمیوں سے کہا، ”پہلے آدمی کے پیچھے پیچھے چل کر لوگوں کو مار ڈالو! نہ کسی پر ترس کھاؤ، نہ رحم کرو

Slay utterly old and young, both maids, and little children, and women: but come not near any man upon whom is the mark; and begin at my sanctuary. Then they began at the ancient men which were before the house.

بلکہ بزرگوں کو کنوارے کنواریوں اور بال بچوں سمیت موت کے گھاٹ اُتارو۔ صرف اُنہیں چھوڑنا جن کے ماتھے پر نشان ہے۔ میرے مقدِس سے شروع کرو!“ چنانچہ آدمیوں نے اُن بزرگوں سے شروع کیا جو رب کے گھر کے سامنے کھڑے تھے۔

And he said unto them, Defile the house, and fill the courts with the slain: go ye forth. And they went forth, and slew in the city.

پھر رب اُن سے دوبارہ ہم کلام ہوا، ”رب کے گھر کے صحنوں کو مقتولوں سے بھر کر اُس کی بےحرمتی کرو، پھر وہاں سے نکل جاؤ!“ وہ نکل گئے اور شہر میں سے گزر کر لوگوں کو مار ڈالنے لگے۔

And it came to pass, while they were slaying them, and I was left, that I fell upon my face, and cried, and said, Ah Lord GOD! wilt thou destroy all the residue of Israel in thy pouring out of thy fury upon Jerusalem?

رب کے گھر کے صحن میں صرف مجھے ہی زندہ چھوڑا گیا تھا۔ مَیں اوندھے منہ گر کر چیخ اُٹھا، ”اے رب قادرِ مطلق، کیا تُو یروشلم پر اپنا غضب نازل کر کے اسرائیل کے تمام بچے ہوؤں کو موت کے گھاٹ اُتارے گا؟“

Then said he unto me, The iniquity of the house of Israel and Judah is exceeding great, and the land is full of blood, and the city full of perverseness: for they say, The LORD hath forsaken the earth, and the LORD seeth not.

رب نے جواب دیا، ”اسرائیل اور یہوداہ کے لوگوں کا قصور نہایت ہی سنگین ہے۔ ملک میں قتل و غارت عام ہے، اور شہر ناانصافی سے بھر گیا ہے۔ کیونکہ لوگ کہتے ہیں، ’رب نے ملک کو ترک کیا ہے، ہم اُسے نظر ہی نہیں آتے۔‘

And as for me also, mine eye shall not spare, neither will I have pity, but I will recompense their way upon their head.

اِس لئے نہ مَیں اُن پر ترس کھاؤں گا، نہ رحم کروں گا بلکہ اُن کی حرکتوں کی مناسب سزا اُن کے سروں پر لاؤں گا۔“

And, behold, the man clothed with linen, which had the inkhorn by his side, reported the matter, saying, I have done as thou hast commanded me.

پھر کتان سے ملبّس وہ آدمی لوٹ آیا جس کے پٹکے سے کاتب کا سامان لٹکا ہوا تھا۔ اُس نے اطلاع دی، ”جو کچھ تُو نے فرمایا وہ مَیں نے پورا کیا ہے۔“
