II Samuel 4

And when Saul's son heard that Abner was dead in Hebron, his hands were feeble, and all the Israelites were troubled.

جب ساؤل کے بیٹے اِشبوست کو اطلاع ملی کہ ابنیر کو حبرون میں قتل کیا گیا ہے تو وہ ہمت ہار گیا، اور تمام اسرائیل سخت گھبرا گیا۔

And Saul's son had two men that were captains of bands: the name of the one was Baanah, and the name of the other Rechab, the sons of Rimmon a Beerothite, of the children of Benjamin: (for Beeroth also was reckoned to Benjamin:

اِشبوست کے دو آدمی تھے جن کے نام بعنہ اور ریکاب تھے۔ جب کبھی اِشبوست کے فوجی چھاپہ مارنے کے لئے نکلتے تو یہ دو بھائی اُن پر مقرر تھے۔ اُن کا باپ رِمّون بن یمین کے قبائلی علاقے کے شہر بیروت کا رہنے والا تھا۔ بیروت بھی بن یمین میں شمار کیا جاتا ہے،

And the Beerothites fled to Gittaim, and were sojourners there until this day.)

اگرچہ اُس کے باشندوں کو ہجرت کر کے جِتّیم میں بسنا پڑا جہاں وہ آج تک پردیسی کی حیثیت سے رہتے ہیں۔

And Jonathan, Saul's son, had a son that was lame of his feet. He was five years old when the tidings came of Saul and Jonathan out of Jezreel, and his nurse took him up, and fled: and it came to pass, as she made haste to flee, that he fell, and became lame. And his name was Mephibosheth.

یونتن کا ایک بیٹا زندہ رہ گیا تھا جس کا نام مفی بوست تھا۔ پانچ سال کی عمر میں یزرعیل سے خبر آئی تھی کہ ساؤل اور یونتن مارے گئے ہیں۔ تب اُس کی آیا اُسے لے کر کہیں پناہ لینے کے لئے بھاگ گئی تھی۔ لیکن جلدی کی وجہ سے مفی بوست گر کر لنگڑا ہو گیا تھا۔ اُس وقت سے اُس کی دونوں ٹانگیں مفلوج تھیں۔

And the sons of Rimmon the Beerothite, Rechab and Baanah, went, and came about the heat of the day to the house of Ish–bosheth, who lay on a bed at noon.

ایک دن رِمّون بیروتی کے بیٹے ریکاب اور بعنہ دوپہر کے وقت اِشبوست کے گھر گئے۔ گرمی عروج پر تھی، اِس لئے اِشبوست آرام کر رہا تھا۔

And they came thither into the midst of the house, as though they would have fetched wheat; and they smote him under the fifth rib: and Rechab and Baanah his brother escaped.

دونوں آدمی یہ بہانہ پیش کر کے گھر کے اندرونی کمرے میں گئے کہ ہم کچھ اناج لے جانے کے لئے آئے ہیں۔ جب اِشبوست کے کمرے میں پہنچے تو وہ چارپائی پر لیٹا سو رہا تھا۔ یہ دیکھ کر اُنہوں نے اُس کے پیٹ میں تلوار گھونپ دی اور پھر اُس کا سر کاٹ کر وہاں سے سلامتی سے نکل آئے۔ پوری رات سفر کرتے کرتے وہ دریائے یردن کی وادی میں سے گزر کر

For when they came into the house, he lay on his bed in his bedchamber, and they smote him, and slew him, and beheaded him, and took his head, and gat them away through the plain all night.

دونوں آدمی یہ بہانہ پیش کر کے گھر کے اندرونی کمرے میں گئے کہ ہم کچھ اناج لے جانے کے لئے آئے ہیں۔ جب اِشبوست کے کمرے میں پہنچے تو وہ چارپائی پر لیٹا سو رہا تھا۔ یہ دیکھ کر اُنہوں نے اُس کے پیٹ میں تلوار گھونپ دی اور پھر اُس کا سر کاٹ کر وہاں سے سلامتی سے نکل آئے۔ پوری رات سفر کرتے کرتے وہ دریائے یردن کی وادی میں سے گزر کر

And they brought the head of Ish–bosheth unto David to Hebron, and said to the king, Behold the head of Ish–bosheth the son of Saul thine enemy, which sought thy life; and the LORD hath avenged my lord the king this day of Saul, and of his seed.

حبرون پہنچ گئے۔ وہاں اُنہوں نے داؤد کو اِشبوست کا سر دکھا کر کہا، ”یہ دیکھیں، ساؤل کے بیٹے اِشبوست کا سر۔ آپ کا دشمن ساؤل بار بار آپ کو مار دینے کی کوشش کرتا رہا، لیکن آج رب نے اُس سے اور اُس کی اولاد سے آپ کا بدلہ لیا ہے۔“

And David answered Rechab and Baanah his brother, the sons of Rimmon the Beerothite, and said unto them, As the LORD liveth, who hath redeemed my soul out of all adversity,

لیکن داؤد نے جواب دیا، ”رب کی حیات کی قَسم جس نے فدیہ دے کر مجھے ہر مصیبت سے بچایا ہے،

When one told me, saying, Behold, Saul is dead, thinking to have brought good tidings, I took hold of him, and slew him in Ziklag, who thought that I would have given him a reward for his tidings:

جس آدمی نے مجھے اُس وقت صِقلاج میں ساؤل کی موت کی اطلاع دی وہ بھی سمجھتا تھا کہ مَیں داؤد کو اچھی خبر پہنچا رہا ہوں۔ لیکن مَیں نے اُسے پکڑ کر سزائے موت دے دی۔ یہی تھا وہ اجر جو اُسے ایسی خبر پہنچانے کے عوض ملا!

How much more, when wicked men have slain a righteous person in his own house upon his bed? shall I not therefore now require his blood of your hand, and take you away from the earth?

اب تم شریر لوگوں نے اِس سے بڑھ کر کیا۔ تم نے بےقصور آدمی کو اُس کے اپنے گھر میں اُس کی اپنی چارپائی پر قتل کر دیا ہے۔ تو کیا میرا فرض نہیں کہ تم کو اِس قتل کی سزا دے کر تمہیں ملک میں سے مٹا دوں؟“

And David commanded his young men, and they slew them, and cut off their hands and their feet, and hanged them up over the pool in Hebron. But they took the head of Ish–bosheth, and buried it in the sepulchre of Abner in Hebron.

داؤد نے دونوں کو مار دینے کا حکم دیا۔ اُس کے ملازموں نے اُنہیں مار کر اُن کے ہاتھوں اور پیروں کو کاٹ ڈالا اور اُن کی لاشوں کو حبرون کے تالاب کے قریب کہیں لٹکا دیا۔ اِشبوست کے سر کو اُنہوں نے ابنیر کی قبر میں دفنایا۔
