II Chronicles 19

And Jehoshaphat the king of Judah returned to his house in peace to Jerusalem.

لیکن یہوداہ کا بادشاہ یہوسفط صحیح سلامت یروشلم اور اپنے محل میں پہنچا۔

And Jehu the son of Hanani the seer went out to meet him, and said to king Jehoshaphat, Shouldest thou help the ungodly, and love them that hate the LORD? therefore is wrath upon thee from before the LORD.

اُس وقت یاہو بن حنانی جو غیب بین تھا اُسے ملنے کے لئے نکلا اور بادشاہ سے کہا، ”کیا یہ ٹھیک ہے کہ آپ شریر کی مدد کریں؟ آپ کیوں اُن کو پیار کرتے ہیں جو رب سے نفرت کرتے ہیں؟ یہ دیکھ کر رب کا غضب آپ پر نازل ہوا ہے۔

Nevertheless there are good things found in thee, in that thou hast taken away the groves out of the land, and hast prepared thine heart to seek God.

توبھی آپ میں اچھی باتیں بھی پائی جاتی ہیں۔ آپ نے یسیرت دیوی کے کھمبوں کو ملک سے دُور کر کے اللہ کے طالب ہونے کا پکا ارادہ کر رکھا ہے۔“

And Jehoshaphat dwelt at Jerusalem: and he went out again through the people from Beer–sheba to mount Ephraim, and brought them back unto the LORD God of their fathers.

اِس کے بعد یہوسفط یروشلم میں رہا۔ لیکن ایک دن وہ دوبارہ نکلا۔ اِس بار اُس نے جنوب میں بیرسبع سے لے کر شمال میں افرائیم کے پہاڑی علاقے تک پورے یہوداہ کا دورہ کیا۔ ہر جگہ وہ لوگوں کو رب اُن کے باپ دادا کے خدا کے پاس واپس لایا۔

And he set judges in the land throughout all the fenced cities of Judah, city by city,

اُس نے یہوداہ کے تمام قلعہ بند شہروں میں قاضی بھی مقرر کئے۔

And said to the judges, Take heed what ye do: for ye judge not for man, but for the LORD, who is with you in the judgment.

اُنہیں سمجھاتے ہوئے اُس نے کہا، ”اپنی روِش پر دھیان دیں! یاد رہے کہ آپ انسان کے جواب دہ نہیں ہیں بلکہ رب کے۔ وہی آپ کے ساتھ ہو گا جب آپ فیصلے کریں گے۔

Wherefore now let the fear of the LORD be upon you; take heed and do it: for there is no iniquity with the LORD our God, nor respect of persons, nor taking of gifts.

چنانچہ اللہ کا خوف مان کر احتیاط سے لوگوں کا انصاف کریں۔ کیونکہ جہاں رب ہمارا خدا ہے وہاں بےانصافی، جانب داری اور رشوت خوری ہو ہی نہیں سکتی۔“

Moreover in Jerusalem did Jehoshaphat set of the Levites, and of the priests, and of the chief of the fathers of Israel, for the judgment of the LORD, and for controversies, when they returned to Jerusalem.

یروشلم میں یہوسفط نے کچھ لاویوں، اماموں اور خاندانی سرپرستوں کو انصاف کرنے کی ذمہ داری دی۔ رب کی شریعت سے متعلق کسی معاملے یا یروشلم کے باشندوں کے درمیان جھگڑے کی صورت میں اُنہیں فیصلہ کرنا تھا۔

And he charged them, saying, Thus shall ye do in the fear of the LORD, faithfully, and with a perfect heart.

یہوسفط نے اُنہیں سمجھاتے ہوئے کہا، ”رب کا خوف مان کر اپنی خدمت کو وفاداری اور پورے دل سے سرانجام دیں۔

And what cause soever shall come to you of your brethren that dwell in their cities, between blood and blood, between law and commandment, statutes and judgments, ye shall even warn them that they trespass not against the LORD, and so wrath come upon you, and upon your brethren: this do, and ye shall not trespass.

آپ کے بھائی شہروں سے آ کر آپ کے سامنے اپنے جھگڑے پیش کریں گے تاکہ آپ اُن کا فیصلہ کریں۔ آپ کو قتل کے مقدموں کا فیصلہ کرنا پڑے گا۔ ایسے معاملات بھی ہوں گے جو رب کی شریعت، کسی حکم، ہدایت یا اصول سے تعلق رکھیں گے۔ جو بھی ہو، لازم ہے کہ آپ اُنہیں سمجھائیں تاکہ وہ رب کا گناہ نہ کریں۔ ورنہ اُس کا غضب آپ اور آپ کے بھائیوں پر نازل ہو گا۔ اگر آپ یہ کریں تو آپ بےقصور رہیں گے۔

And, behold, Amariah the chief priest is over you in all matters of the LORD; and Zebadiah the son of Ishmael, the ruler of the house of Judah, for all the king's matters: also the Levites shall be officers before you. Deal courageously, and the LORD shall be with the good.

امامِ اعظم امریاہ رب کی شریعت سے تعلق رکھنے والے معاملات کا حتمی فیصلہ کرے گا۔ جو مقدمے بادشاہ سے تعلق رکھتے ہیں اُن کا حتمی فیصلہ یہوداہ کے قبیلے کا سربراہ زبدیاہ بن اسمٰعیل کرے گا۔ عدالت کا انتظام چلانے میں لاوی آپ کی مدد کریں گے۔ اب حوصلہ رکھ کر اپنی خدمت سرانجام دیں۔ جو بھی صحیح کام کرے گا اُس کے ساتھ رب ہو گا۔“
