I Chronicles 22

Then David said, This is the house of the LORD God, and this is the altar of the burnt offering for Israel.

اِس لئے داؤد نے فیصلہ کیا، ”رب ہمارے خدا کا گھر گاہنے کی اِس جگہ پر ہو گا، اور یہاں وہ قربان گاہ بھی ہو گی جس پر اسرائیل کے لئے بھسم ہونے والی قربانی جلائی جاتی ہے۔“

And David commanded to gather together the strangers that were in the land of Israel; and he set masons to hew wrought stones to build the house of God.

چنانچہ اُس نے اسرائیل میں رہنے والے پردیسیوں کو بُلا کر اُنہیں اللہ کے گھر کے لئے درکار تراشے ہوئے پتھر تیار کرنے کی ذمہ داری دی۔

And David prepared iron in abundance for the nails for the doors of the gates, and for the joinings; and brass in abundance without weight;

اِس کے علاوہ داؤد نے دروازوں کے کواڑوں کی کیلوں اور کڑوں کے لئے لوہے کے بڑے ڈھیر لگائے۔ ساتھ ساتھ اِتنا پیتل اکٹھا کیا گیا کہ آخرکار اُسے تولا نہ جا سکا۔

Also cedar trees in abundance: for the Zidonians and they of Tyre brought much cedar wood to David.

اِسی طرح دیودار کی بہت زیادہ لکڑی یروشلم لائی گئی۔ صیدا اور صور کے باشندوں نے اُسے داؤد تک پہنچایا۔

And David said, Solomon my son is young and tender, and the house that is to be builded for the LORD must be exceeding magnifical, of fame and of glory throughout all countries: I will therefore now make preparation for it. So David prepared abundantly before his death.

یہ سامان جمع کرنے کے پیچھے داؤد کی یہ سوچ تھی، ”میرا بیٹا سلیمان جوان ہے، اور اُس کا ابھی اِتنا تجربہ نہیں ہے، حالانکہ جو گھر رب کے لئے بنوانا ہے اُسے اِتنا بڑا اور شاندار ہونے کی ضرورت ہے کہ تمام دنیا ہکا بکا رہ کر اُس کی تعریف کرے۔ اِس لئے مَیں خود جہاں تک ہو سکے اُسے بنوانے کی تیاریاں کروں گا۔“ یہی وجہ تھی کہ داؤد نے اپنی موت سے پہلے اِتنا سامان جمع کرایا۔

Then he called for Solomon his son, and charged him to build an house for the LORD God of Israel.

پھر داؤد نے اپنے بیٹے سلیمان کو بُلا کر اُسے رب اسرائیل کے خدا کے لئے سکونت گاہ بنوانے کی ذمہ داری دے کر

And David said to Solomon, My son, as for me, it was in my mind to build an house unto the name of the LORD my God:

کہا، ”میرے بیٹے، مَیں خود رب اپنے خدا کے نام کے لئے گھر بنانا چاہتا تھا۔

But the word of the LORD came to me, saying, Thou hast shed blood abundantly, and hast made great wars: thou shalt not build an house unto my name, because thou hast shed much blood upon the earth in my sight.

لیکن مجھے اجازت نہیں ملی، کیونکہ رب مجھ سے ہم کلام ہوا، ’تُو نے شدید قسم کی جنگیں لڑ کر بےشمار لوگوں کو مار دیا ہے۔ نہیں، تُو میرے نام کے لئے گھر تعمیر نہیں کرے گا، کیونکہ میرے دیکھتے دیکھتے تُو بہت خوں ریزی کا سبب بنا ہے۔

Behold, a son shall be born to thee, who shall be a man of rest; and I will give him rest from all his enemies round about: for his name shall be Solomon, and I will give peace and quietness unto Israel in his days.

لیکن تیرے ایک بیٹا پیدا ہو گا جو امن پسند ہو گا۔ اُسے مَیں امن و امان مہیا کروں گا، اُسے چاروں طرف کے دشمنوں سے لڑنا نہیں پڑے گا۔ اُس کا نام سلیمان ہو گا، اور اُس کی حکومت کے دوران مَیں اسرائیل کو امن و امان عطا کروں گا۔

He shall build an house for my name; and he shall be my son, and I will be his father; and I will establish the throne of his kingdom over Israel for ever.

وہی میرے نام کے لئے گھر بنائے گا۔ وہ میرا بیٹا ہو گا اور مَیں اُس کا باپ ہوں گا۔ اور مَیں اسرائیل پر اُس کی بادشاہی کا تخت ہمیشہ تک قائم رکھوں گا‘۔“

Now, my son, the LORD be with thee; and prosper thou, and build the house of the LORD thy God, as he hath said of thee.

داؤد نے بات جاری رکھ کر کہا، ”میرے بیٹے، رب آپ کے ساتھ ہو تاکہ آپ کو کامیابی حاصل ہو اور آپ رب اپنے خدا کا گھر اُس کے وعدے کے مطابق تعمیر کر سکیں۔

Only the LORD give thee wisdom and understanding, and give thee charge concerning Israel, that thou mayest keep the law of the LORD thy God.

آپ کو اسرائیل پر مقرر کرتے وقت رب آپ کو حکمت اور سمجھ عطا کرے تاکہ آپ رب اپنے خدا کی شریعت پر عمل کر سکیں۔

Then shalt thou prosper, if thou takest heed to fulfil the statutes and judgments which the LORD charged Moses with concerning Israel: be strong, and of good courage; dread not, nor be dismayed.

اگر آپ احتیاط سے اُن ہدایات اور احکام پر عمل کریں جو رب نے موسیٰ کی معرفت اسرائیل کو دے دیئے تو آپ کو ضرور کامیابی حاصل ہو گی۔ مضبوط اور دلیر ہوں۔ ڈریں مت اور ہمت نہ ہاریں۔

Now, behold, in my trouble I have prepared for the house of the LORD an hundred thousand talents of gold, and a thousand thousand talents of silver; and of brass and iron without weight; for it is in abundance: timber also and stone have I prepared; and thou mayest add thereto.

دیکھیں، مَیں نے بڑی جد و جہد کے ساتھ رب کے گھر کے لئے سونے کے 34,00,000 کلو گرام اور چاندی کے 3,40,00,000 کلو گرام تیار کر رکھے ہیں۔ اِس کے علاوہ مَیں نے اِتنا پیتل اور لوہا اکٹھا کیا کہ اُسے تولا نہیں جا سکتا، نیز لکڑی اور پتھر کا ڈھیر لگایا، اگرچہ آپ اَور بھی جمع کریں گے۔

Moreover there are workmen with thee in abundance, hewers and workers of stone and timber, and all manner of cunning men for every manner of work.

آپ کی مدد کرنے والے کاری گر بہت ہیں۔ اُن میں پتھر کو تراشنے والے، راج، بڑھئی اور ایسے کاری گر شامل ہیں جو مہارت سے ہر قسم کی چیز بنا سکتے ہیں،

Of the gold, the silver, and the brass, and the iron, there is no number. Arise therefore, and be doing, and the LORD be with thee.

خواہ وہ سونے، چاندی، پیتل یا لوہے کی کیوں نہ ہو۔ بےشمار ایسے لوگ تیار کھڑے ہیں۔ اب کام شروع کریں، اور رب آپ کے ساتھ ہو!“

David also commanded all the princes of Israel to help Solomon his son, saying,

پھر داؤد نے اسرائیل کے تمام راہنماؤں کو اپنے بیٹے سلیمان کی مدد کرنے کا حکم دیا۔

Is not the LORD your God with you? and hath he not given you rest on every side? for he hath given the inhabitants of the land into mine hand; and the land is subdued before the LORD, and before his people.

اُس نے اُن سے کہا، ”رب آپ کا خدا آپ کے ساتھ ہے۔ اُس نے آپ کو پڑوسی قوموں سے محفوظ رکھ کر امن و امان عطا کیا ہے۔ ملک کے باشندوں کو اُس نے میرے حوالے کر دیا، اور اب یہ ملک رب اور اُس کی قوم کے تابع ہو گیا ہے۔

Now set your heart and your soul to seek the LORD your God; arise therefore, and build ye the sanctuary of the LORD God, to bring the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and the holy vessels of God, into the house that is to be built to the name of the LORD.

اب دل و جان سے رب اپنے خدا کے طالب رہیں۔ رب اپنے خدا کے مقدِس کی تعمیر شروع کریں تاکہ آپ جلدی سے عہد کا صندوق اور مُقدّس خیمے کے سامان کو اُس گھر میں لا سکیں جو رب کے نام کی تعظیم میں تعمیر ہو گا۔“
