I Samuel 7

And the men of Kirjath–jearim came, and fetched up the ark of the LORD, and brought it into the house of Abinadab in the hill, and sanctified Eleazar his son to keep the ark of the LORD.

Και ηλθον οι ανδρες της Κιριαθ−ιαρειμ, και ανεβιβασαν την κιβωτον του Κυριου και εφεραν αυτην εις τον οικον του Αβιναδαβ επι τον λοφον, και Ελεαζαρ τον υιον αυτου καθιερωσαν, δια να φυλαττη την κιβωτον του Κυριου.

And it came to pass, while the ark abode in Kirjath–jearim, that the time was long; for it was twenty years: and all the house of Israel lamented after the LORD.

Και αφ ης ημερας ετεθη η κιβωτος εν Κιριαθ−ιαρειμ, παρηλθε καιρος πολυς και εγειναν εικοσι ετη και πας ο οικος Ισραηλ εστεναζεν, αναζητων τον Κυριον.

And Samuel spake unto all the house of Israel, saying, If ye do return unto the LORD with all your hearts, then put away the strange gods and Ashtaroth from among you, and prepare your hearts unto the LORD, and serve him only: and he will deliver you out of the hand of the Philistines.

Και ειπε Σαμουηλ προς παντα τον οικον Ισραηλ, λεγων, Εαν σεις επιστρεφητε εξ ολης υμων της καρδιας προς τον Κυριον, αποβαλετε εκ μεσου υμων τους Θεους τους αλλοτριους και τας Ασταρωθ, και ετοιμασατε τας καρδιας υμων προς τον Κυριον και αυτον μονον λατρευετε και θελει ελευθερωσει υμας εκ χειρος των Φιλισταιων.

Then the children of Israel did put away Baalim and Ashtaroth, and served the LORD only.

Τοτε απεβαλον οι υιοι Ισραηλ τους Βααλειμ και τας Ασταρωθ και ελατρευσαν τον Κυριον μονον.

And Samuel said, Gather all Israel to Mizpeh, and I will pray for you unto the LORD.

Και ειπε Σαμουηλ, Συναξατε παντα τον Ισραηλ εις Μισπα, και θελω προσευχηθη υπερ υμων προς τον Κυριον.

And they gathered together to Mizpeh, and drew water, and poured it out before the LORD, and fasted on that day, and said there, We have sinned against the LORD. And Samuel judged the children of Israel in Mizpeh.

Και συνηχθησαν ομου εις Μισπα, και ηντλησαν υδωρ και εξεχεαν ενωπιον του Κυριου, και ενηστευσαν την ημεραν εκεινην και ειπον εκει, Ημαρτησαμεν εις τον Κυριον. Και εκρινεν ο Σαμουηλ τους υιους Ισραηλ εν Μισπα.

And when the Philistines heard that the children of Israel were gathered together to Mizpeh, the lords of the Philistines went up against Israel. And when the children of Israel heard it, they were afraid of the Philistines.

Οτε δε ηκουσαν οι Φιλισταιοι οτι συνηθροισθησαν οι υιοι Ισραηλ εις Μισπα ανεβησαν οι σατραπαι των Φιλισταιων κατα του Ισραηλ. Και ακουσαντες οι υιοι Ισραηλ, εφοβηθησαν απο προσωπου των Φιλισταιων.

And the children of Israel said to Samuel, Cease not to cry unto the LORD our God for us, that he will save us out of the hand of the Philistines.

Και ειπον οι υιοι Ισραηλ προς τον Σαμουηλ, Μη παυσης βοων υπερ ημων προς Κυριον τον Θεον ημων, δια να σωση ημας εκ χειρος των Φιλισταιων.

And Samuel took a sucking lamb, and offered it for a burnt offering wholly unto the LORD: and Samuel cried unto the LORD for Israel; and the LORD heard him.

Και ελαβεν ο Σαμουηλ εν αρνιον γαλαθηνον, και προσεφερεν ολοκληρον ολοκαυτωμα εις τον Κυριον και εβοησεν ο Σαμουηλ προς τον Κυριον υπερ του Ισραηλ και επηκουσεν αυτου ο Κυριος.

And as Samuel was offering up the burnt offering, the Philistines drew near to battle against Israel: but the LORD thundered with a great thunder on that day upon the Philistines, and discomfited them; and they were smitten before Israel.

Και ενω προσεφερεν ο Σαμουηλ το ολοκαυτωμα, επλησιασαν οι Φιλισταιοι δια να πολεμησωσι κατα του Ισραηλ και εβροντησεν ο Κυριος εν φωνη μεγαλη την ημεραν εκεινην επι τους Φιλισταιους και κατετροπωσεν αυτους και εκτυπηθησαν εμπροσθεν του Ισραηλ.

And the men of Israel went out of Mizpeh, and pursued the Philistines, and smote them, until they came under Beth–car.

Και εξηλθον οι ανδρες Ισραηλ εκ Μισπα, και κατεδιωξαν τους Φιλισταιους και επαταξαν αυτους, εως υποκατω της Βαιθ−χαρ.

Then Samuel took a stone, and set it between Mizpeh and Shen, and called the name of it Eben–ezer, saying, Hitherto hath the LORD helped us.

Τοτε ελαβεν ο Σαμουηλ ενα λιθον και εστησε μεταξυ Μισπα και Σεν και εκαλεσε το ονομα αυτου Εβεν−εζερ, λεγων, Μεχρι τουδε εβοηθησεν ημας ο Κυριος.

So the Philistines were subdued, and they came no more into the coast of Israel: and the hand of the LORD was against the Philistines all the days of Samuel.

Και εταπεινωθησαν οι Φιλισταιοι και δεν ηλθον πλεον εις τα ορια του Ισραηλ και ητο η χειρ του Κυριου κατα των Φιλισταιων πασας τας ημερας του Σαμουηλ.

And the cities which the Philistines had taken from Israel were restored to Israel, from Ekron even unto Gath; and the coasts thereof did Israel deliver out of the hands of the Philistines. And there was peace between Israel and the Amorites.

Και αι πολεις, τας οποιας οι Φιλισταιοι ειχον λαβει απο του Ισραηλ, απεδοθησαν εις τον Ισραηλ, απο Ακκαρων εως Γαθ και ηλευθερωσεν ο Ισραηλ τα ορια αυτων εκ χειρος των Φιλισταιων. Και ητο ειρηνη μεταξυ Ισραηλ και Αμορραιων.

And Samuel judged Israel all the days of his life.

Και εκρινεν ο Σαμουηλ τον Ισραηλ πασας τας ημερας της ζωης αυτου

And he went from year to year in circuit to Beth–el, and Gilgal, and Mizpeh, and judged Israel in all those places.

και επορευετο κατ ετος περιερχομενος εις Βαιθηλ και Γαλγαλα και Μισπα και εκρινε τον Ισραηλ εν πασι τοις τοποις τουτοις

And his return was to Ramah; for there was his house; and there he judged Israel; and there he built an altar unto the LORD.

η δε επιστροφη αυτου ητο εις Ραμα διοτι εκει ητο ο οικος αυτου και εκει εκρινε τον Ισραηλ εκει προσετι ωκοδομησε θυσιαστηριον εις τον Κυριον.
