Psalms 131

LORD, my heart is not haughty, nor mine eyes lofty: neither do I exercise myself in great matters, or in things too high for me.

(O cîntare a treptelor. Un psalm al lui David.) Doamne, eu n'am o inimă îngîmfată, nici priviri trufaşe, nu mă îndeletnicesc cu lucruri prea mari şi prea înalte pentru mine.

Surely I have behaved and quieted myself, as a child that is weaned of his mother: my soul is even as a weaned child.

Dimpotrivă, sufletul îmi este liniştit şi potolit, ca un copil înţercat, care stă lîngă mamă-sa; da, sufletul meu este ca un copil înţercat.

Let Israel hope in the LORD from henceforth and for ever.

Pune-ţi nădejdea în Domnul, Israele, de acum şi pînă în veac!
