Jeremiah 12

12:1

Righteous art thou, O LORD, when I plead with thee: yet let me talk with thee of thy judgments: Wherefore doth the way of the wicked prosper? wherefore are all they happy that deal very treacherously?

यहोवा यदि मैं तुझसे तर्क करता हूँ, तू सदा ही सही निकलता है। किन्तु मैं तुझसे उन सब के बारे में पूछना चाहता हूँ जो सही नहीं लगतीं। दुष्ट लोग सफल क्यों हैं जो तुझ पर विश्वास नहीं करते, उनका उतना जीवन सुखी क्यों है

12:2

Thou hast planted them, yea, they have taken root: they grow, yea, they bring forth fruit: thou art near in their mouth, and far from their reins.

तूने उन दुष्ट लोगों को यहाँ बसाया है। वे दृढ़ जड़ वाले पौधे जैसे हैं जो बढ़ते तथा फल देते हैं। अपने मुँह से वे तुझको अपने समीपी और प्रिय कहते हैं। किन्तु अपने हृदय से वे वास्तव में तुझसे बहुत दूर हैं।

12:3

But thou, O LORD, knowest me: thou hast seen me, and tried mine heart toward thee: pull them out like sheep for the slaughter, and prepare them for the day of slaughter.

किन्तु मेरे यहोवा, तू मेरे हृदय को जानता है। तू मुझे और मेरे मन को देखता और परखता है, मेरा हृदय तेरे साथ है। उन दुष्ट लोगों को मारी जाने वाली भेड़ के समान घसीट। बलि दिवस के लिये उन्हें चुन।

12:4

How long shall the land mourn, and the herbs of every field wither, for the wickedness of them that dwell therein? the beasts are consumed, and the birds; because they said, He shall not see our last end.

कितने अधिक समय तक भूमि प्यासी पड़ी रहेगी घास कब तक सूखी और मरी रहेगी इस भूमि के जानवर और पक्षी मर चुके हैं और यह दुष्ट लोगों का अपराध है। फिर भी वे दुष्ट लोग कहते हैं, “यिर्मयाह हम लोगों पर आने वाली विपत्ति को देखने को जीवित नहीं रहेगा।”

12:5

If thou hast run with the footmen, and they have wearied thee, then how canst thou contend with horses? and if in the land of peace, wherein thou trustedst, they wearied thee, then how wilt thou do in the swelling of Jordan?

“यिर्मयाह, यदि तुम मनुष्यों की पग दौड़ में थक जाते हो तो तुम घोड़ों के मुकाबले में कैसे दौड़ोगे यदि तुम सुरक्षित देश में थक जाते हो तो तुम यरदन नदी के तटों पर उगी भयंकर कंटीली झाड़ियों में पहुँचकर क्या करोगे

12:6

For even thy brethren, and the house of thy father, even they have dealt treacherously with thee; yea, they have called a multitude after thee: believe them not, though they speak fair words unto thee.

ये लोग तुम्हारे अपने भाई हैं। तुम्हारे अपने परिवार के सदस्य तुम्हारे विरुद्ध योजना बना रहे हैं। तुम्हारे अपने परिवार के लोग तुम पर चीख रहे हैं। यदि वे मित्र सच भी बोलें, उन पर विश्वास न करो।”

12:7

I have forsaken mine house, I have left mine heritage; I have given the dearly beloved of my soul into the hand of her enemies.

“मैंने (यहोवा) अपना घर छोड़ दिया है। मैंने अपनी विरासत अस्वीकार कर दी है। मैंने जिससे (यहूदा) प्यार किया है, उसे उसके शत्रुओं को दे दिया है।

12:8

Mine heritage is unto me as a lion in the forest; it crieth out against me: therefore have I hated it.

मेरे अपने लोग मेरे लिये जंगली शेर बन गये हैं। वे मुझ पर गरजते हैं, अत: मैं उनसे घृणा करता हूँ।

12:9

Mine heritage is unto me as a speckled bird, the birds round about are against her; come ye, assemble all the beasts of the field, come to devour.

मेरे अपने लोग गिद्धों से घिरा, मरता हुआ जानवर बन गये हैं। वे पक्षी उस पर मंडरा रहे हैं। जंगली जानवरों आओ। आगे बढ़ो, खाने को कुछ पाओ।
