II Chronicles 36

Then the people of the land took Jehoahaz the son of Josiah, and made him king in his father's stead in Jerusalem.

مردم یهودا یهوآخاز، پسر یوشیا، را به جانشینی پدرش در اورشلیم به پادشاهی مسح نمودند.

Jehoahaz was twenty and three years old when he began to reign, and he reigned three months in Jerusalem.

یهوآخاز بیست و سه ساله بود که پادشاه شد و مدّت سه ماه در اورشلیم سلطنت کرد.

And the king of Egypt put him down at Jerusalem, and condemned the land in an hundred talents of silver and a talent of gold.

سپس فرعون او را در اورشلیم بر کنار کرد و خراجی معادل سه هزار و چهارصد کیلو نقره و سی‌ و چهار کیلو طلا بر یهودا تحمیل کرد.

And the king of Egypt made Eliakim his brother king over Judah and Jerusalem, and turned his name to Jehoiakim. And Necho took Jehoahaz his brother, and carried him to Egypt.

فرعون الیاقیم، برادر یهوآخاز را به پادشاهی یهودا گماشت و نام او را به یهویاقیم تبدیل نمود. سپس نکو، یهوآخاز را به اسیری با خود به مصر برد.

Jehoiakim was twenty and five years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem: and he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD his God.

یهویاقیم بیست و پنج ساله بود که پادشاه شد و مدّت یازده سال در اورشلیم حکومت کرد. او آنچه را در نظر خداوند پلید بود، انجام داد.

Against him came up Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and bound him in fetters, to carry him to Babylon.

نبوکدنصر، پادشاه بابل، به یهودا حمله کرد و آن را اشغال نمود و یهویاقیم را دستگیر کرد و او را به زنجیر کشید و به بابل برد.

Nebuchadnezzar also carried of the vessels of the house of the LORD to Babylon, and put them in his temple at Babylon.

نبوکدنصر مقداری از ظروف معبد بزرگ را به بابل برد و در کاخ خود قرار داد.

Now the rest of the acts of Jehoiakim, and his abominations which he did, and that which was found in him, behold, they are written in the book of the kings of Israel and Judah: and Jehoiachin his son reigned in his stead.

شرح آنچه یهویاقیم انجام داد و کارهای زشت او در کتاب تاریخ پادشاهان اسرائیل و یهودا نوشته شده‌اند. سپس پسرش، یهویاکین به جای او به پادشاهی رسید.

Jehoiachin was eight years old when he began to reign, and he reigned three months and ten days in Jerusalem: and he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD.

یهویاکین در سن هجده سالگی پادشاه شد و مدّت سه ماه و ده روز در اورشلیم حکومت کرد. او نیز علیه خداوند گناه ورزید.

And when the year was expired, king Nebuchadnezzar sent, and brought him to Babylon, with the goodly vessels of the house of the LORD, and made Zedekiah his brother king over Judah and Jerusalem.

بعد در بهار همان سال، نبوکدنصر او را با ظروف گرانبهای معبد بزرگ به بابل برد و عمویش، صدقیا را به جای او به پادشاهی یهودا گماشت.

Zedekiah was one and twenty years old when he began to reign, and reigned eleven years in Jerusalem.

صدقیا بیست و یک ساله بود که پادشاه شد و مدّت یازده سال در اورشلیم حکومت کرد.

And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD his God, and humbled not himself before Jeremiah the prophet speaking from the mouth of the LORD.

او علیه خداوند گناه ورزید و با فروتنی به سخنان ارمیای نبی که کلام خداوند را می‌گفت گوش نداد.

And he also rebelled against king Nebuchadnezzar, who had made him swear by God: but he stiffened his neck, and hardened his heart from turning unto the LORD God of Israel.

صدقیا علیه نبوکدنصر پادشاه شورش کرد، با وجودی که به پادشاه به نام خدا سوگند یاد کرده بود، وفادار بماند. او سرسخت و سخت دل بود و به سوی خداوند، خدای اسرائیل بازنگشت.

Moreover all the chief of the priests, and the people, transgressed very much after all the abominations of the heathen; and polluted the house of the LORD which he had hallowed in Jerusalem.

همچنین رهبران یهودا، کاهنان و مردم از الگوهای گناه آلود بت‌پرستانهٔ ملّتهای اطراف خود پیروی کردند و معبدی که خداوند تقدیس نموده بود، ناپاک ساختند.

And the LORD God of their fathers sent to them by his messengers, rising up betimes, and sending; because he had compassion on his people, and on his dwelling place:

خداوند، خدای نیاکان ایشان به فرستادن انبیا ادامه داد تا به قوم هشدار دهد، چون بر ایشان و معبد بزرگ خود شفقت داشته

But they mocked the messengers of God, and despised his words, and misused his prophets, until the wrath of the LORD arose against his people, till there was no remedy.

ولی آنها انبیای خدا را مسخره کردند و کلام خدا را ناچیز ‌شمردند و به انبیا اهانت می‌کردند تا آنکه آتش غضب خداوند به قدری بر‌ آنها برافروخته شد که دیگر راه علاجی باقی نماند.

Therefore he brought upon them the king of the Chaldees, who slew their young men with the sword in the house of their sanctuary, and had no compassion upon young man or maiden, old man, or him that stooped for age: he gave them all into his hand.

پس خداوند پادشاه بابل را برانگیخت تا به ایشان حمله کند. پادشاه بابل مردان جوان را حتّی در معبد بزرگ کشت، او به هیچ‌کس پیر و جوان، مرد و زن، سالم و بیمار رحم نکرد. خدا همه را به دست او تسلیم کرد.

And all the vessels of the house of God, great and small, and the treasures of the house of the LORD, and the treasures of the king, and of his princes; all these he brought to Babylon.

پادشاه بابل معبد بزرگ و خزانهٔ آن و ثروت پادشاه و درباریان را تاراج کرد و همه را به بابل برد.

And they burnt the house of God, and brake down the wall of Jerusalem, and burnt all the palaces thereof with fire, and destroyed all the goodly vessels thereof.

آنها معبد بزرگ را سوزاندند و دیوارهای اورشلیم را ویران کردند و تمام کاخها را به آتش کشیدند و ظروف گرانبهای آنها را از بین بردند.

And them that had escaped from the sword carried he away to Babylon; where they were servants to him and his sons until the reign of the kingdom of Persia:

و آنهایی را که از ‌دَم شمشیر گریخته بودند، به بابل تبعید کرد، و تا استقرار پادشاهی پارس، ایشان بندهٔ او و پسرانش بودند.

To fulfil the word of the LORD by the mouth of Jeremiah, until the land had enjoyed her sabbaths: for as long as she lay desolate she kept sabbath, to fulfil threescore and ten years.

به این ترتیب کلام خداوند عملی شد که به وسیلهٔ ارمیای نبی فرموده بود: «این سرزمین برای هفتاد سال خالی از سکنه خواهد بود تا سالهایی که در آنها مردم اسرائیل قانون سبت را شکسته بودند، جبران شود.»

Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the LORD spoken by the mouth of Jeremiah might be accomplished, the LORD stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and put it also in writing, saying,

در سال اول سلطنت کوروش، شاهنشاه پارس، خداوند آنچه را توسط ارمیای نبی فرموده بود، به انجام رساند. او کوروش را برانگیخت تا فرمانی صادر کند و نوشتهٔ آن را به سرتاسر نواحی شاهنشاهی بفرستد تا با صدای بلند خوانده شود.

Thus saith Cyrus king of Persia, All the kingdoms of the earth hath the LORD God of heaven given me; and he hath charged me to build him an house in Jerusalem, which is in Judah. Who is there among you of all his people? The LORD his God be with him, and let him go up.

این فرمان کوروش امپراتور پارس است: «خداوند، خدای آسمان مرا فرمانروای همهٔ جهان کرد و به من مسئولیّت ساختن معبدی برای او در اورشلیم در یهودا داده است. اکنون همهٔ کسانی‌که قوم خدا هستند، به آنجا بروند، خداوند خدای شما، همراهتان باشد!»
