II Samuel 21

Then there was a famine in the days of David three years, year after year; and David enquired of the LORD. And the LORD answered, It is for Saul, and for his bloody house, because he slew the Gibeonites.

В дните на Давид настана глад три години подред. И Давид потърси лицето на ГОСПОДА и ГОСПОД каза: Това е заради Саул и заради кръвожадния му дом, понеже изби гаваонците.

And the king called the Gibeonites, and said unto them; (now the Gibeonites were not of the children of Israel, but of the remnant of the Amorites; and the children of Israel had sworn unto them: and Saul sought to slay them in his zeal to the children of Israel and Judah.)

Тогава царят повика гаваонците и им говори. А гаваонците не бяха от израилевите синове, а от остатъка на аморейците. И израилевите синове им се бяха заклели да ги пощадят, но Саул беше поискал да ги убие в ревността си за синовете на Израил и Юда.

Wherefore David said unto the Gibeonites, What shall I do for you? and wherewith shall I make the atonement, that ye may bless the inheritance of the LORD?

И Давид каза на гаваонците: Какво да направя за вас? И с какво да направя умилостивение, за да благословите ГОСПОДНОТО наследство?

And the Gibeonites said unto him, We will have no silver nor gold of Saul, nor of his house; neither for us shalt thou kill any man in Israel. And he said, What ye shall say, that will I do for you.

А гаваонците му казаха: Не ни е нито за сребро, нито за злато от Саул и неговия дом, нито пък да убиеш за нас някого в Израил. И той каза: Каквото кажете, ще направя за вас.

And they answered the king, The man that consumed us, and that devised against us that we should be destroyed from remaining in any of the coasts of Israel,

Тогава те казаха на царя: От човека, който ни погубваше и който замисляше зло против нас, да бъдем изтребени и да не останем в никоя от израилевите области,

Let seven men of his sons be delivered unto us, and we will hang them up unto the LORD in Gibeah of Saul, whom the LORD did choose. And the king said, I will give them.

нека ни се дадат седем мъже от синовете му, за да ги обесим пред ГОСПОДА в Гавая на Саул, избрания на ГОСПОДА. И царят каза: Ще ви ги дам.

But the king spared Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan the son of Saul, because of the LORD'S oath that was between them, between David and Jonathan the son of Saul.

Но царят пожали Мемфивостей, сина на Йонатан, сина на Саул, заради ГОСПОДНАТА клетва, която беше между тях, между Давид и Йонатан, сина на Саул.

But the king took the two sons of Rizpah the daughter of Aiah, whom she bare unto Saul, Armoni and Mephibosheth; and the five sons of Michal the daughter of Saul, whom she brought up for Adriel the son of Barzillai the Meholathite:

И царят взе двамата сина на Ресфа, дъщерята на Аия, които беше родила на Саул, Армоний и Мемфивостей, и петимата сина на Михала, дъщерята на Саул, които беше родила на Адриил, сина на меолатянина Верзелай,

And he delivered them into the hands of the Gibeonites, and they hanged them in the hill before the LORD: and they fell all seven together, and were put to death in the days of harvest, in the first days, in the beginning of barley harvest.

и ги предаде в ръцете на гаваонците. И те ги обесиха на хълма пред ГОСПОДА. Така седемте паднаха заедно и бяха убити в първите дни на жетвата, в началото на ечемичната жетва.

And Rizpah the daughter of Aiah took sackcloth, and spread it for her upon the rock, from the beginning of harvest until water dropped upon them out of heaven, and suffered neither the birds of the air to rest on them by day, nor the beasts of the field by night.

А Ресфа, дъщерята на Аия, взе вретище и си го постла на скалата от началото на жетвата докато дъждът се изля върху мъртвите от небето; и не оставяше да се докоснат до тях нито небесните птици през деня, нито полските зверове през нощта.

And it was told David what Rizpah the daughter of Aiah, the concubine of Saul, had done.

И съобщиха на Давид какво беше направила Ресфа, дъщерята на Аия, наложницата на Саул.

And David went and took the bones of Saul and the bones of Jonathan his son from the men of Jabesh–gilead, which had stolen them from the street of Beth–shan, where the Philistines had hanged them, when the Philistines had slain Saul in Gilboa:

Тогава Давид отиде и взе костите на Саул и костите на сина му Йонатан от гражданите на Явис-Галаад, които ги бяха откраднали от площада на Ветсан, където филистимците ги бяха обесили в деня, когато филистимците убиха Саул в Гелвуе.

And he brought up from thence the bones of Saul and the bones of Jonathan his son; and they gathered the bones of them that were hanged.

И той изнесе оттам костите на Саул и костите на сина му Йонатан. После събраха костите на обесените,

And the bones of Saul and Jonathan his son buried they in the country of Benjamin in Zelah, in the sepulchre of Kish his father: and they performed all that the king commanded. And after that God was intreated for the land.

и ги погребаха с костите на Саул и на сина му Йонатан във вениаминовата земя в Сила, в гроба на баща му Кис. Така те изпълниха всичко, което царят заповяда. И след това Бог чу молитвата за земята.

Moreover the Philistines had yet war again with Israel; and David went down, and his servants with him, and fought against the Philistines: and David waxed faint.

И филистимците отново направиха война с Израил. И Давид слезе, и слугите му с него, и се биха срещу филистимците. И Давид се изтощи.

And Ishbi–benob, which was of the sons of the giant, the weight of whose spear weighed three hundred shekels of brass in weight, he being girded with a new sword, thought to have slain David.

И Исви-Венов, който беше от синовете на Рафа, чието копие тежеше триста сикъла бронз, и който беше препасан с нов меч, мислеше да убие Давид.

But Abishai the son of Zeruiah succoured him, and smote the Philistine, and killed him. Then the men of David sware unto him, saying, Thou shalt go no more out with us to battle, that thou quench not the light of Israel.

Но Ависей, синът на Саруя, му дойде на помощ и удари филистимеца, и го уби. Тогава мъжете на Давид му се заклеха и казаха: Ти няма повече да излизаш с нас на бой, за да не угасиш светилото на Израил!

And it came to pass after this, that there was again a battle with the Philistines at Gob: then Sibbechai the Hushathite slew Saph, which was of the sons of the giant.

А след това отново настана бой с филистимците в Гов. Тогава хусатецът Сивехай уби Саф, който беше от синовете на Рафа.

And there was again a battle in Gob with the Philistines, where Elhanan the son of Jaare–oregim, a Beth–lehemite, slew the brother of Goliath the Gittite, the staff of whose spear was like a weaver's beam.

И отново настана бой с филистимците в Гов. Тогава Елханан, синът на витлеемеца Яаре-Орегим уби гетеца Голиат, а дръжката на копието му беше като кросно на тъкач.

And there was yet a battle in Gath, where was a man of great stature, that had on every hand six fingers, and on every foot six toes, four and twenty in number; and he also was born to the giant.

И отново настана бой в Гет. Там имаше един мъж с висок ръст, който имаше по шест пръста на ръцете си и по шест пръста на краката си — двадесет и четири на брой; и той също се беше родил на Рафа.

And when he defied Israel, Jonathan the son of Shimea the brother of David slew him.

И когато той хвърли позор върху Израил, Йонатан, синът на Давидовия брат Сама, го уби.

These four were born to the giant in Gath, and fell by the hand of David, and by the hand of his servants.

Тези четиримата се бяха родили на Рафа в Гет. И те паднаха чрез ръката на Давид и чрез ръката на слугите му.
