Isaiah 35

Il deserto e la terra arida si rallegreranno, la solitudine gioirà e fiorirà come la rosa;

The wilderness and the solitary place shall be glad for them; and the desert shall rejoice, and blossom as the rose.

si coprirà di fiori e festeggerà con giubilo e canti d’esultanza; le sarà data la gloria del Libano, la magnificenza del Carmel e di Saron. Essi vedranno la gloria dell’Eterno, la magnificenza del nostro Dio.

It shall blossom abundantly, and rejoice even with joy and singing: the glory of Lebanon shall be given unto it, the excellency of Carmel and Sharon, they shall see the glory of the LORD, and the excellency of our God.

Fortificate le mani infiacchite, raffermate le ginocchia vacillanti!

Strengthen ye the weak hands, and confirm the feeble knees.

Dite a quelli che hanno il cuore smarrito: "Siate forti, non temete!" Ecco il vostro Dio! Verrà la vendetta, la retribuzione di Dio; verrà egli stesso a salvarvi.

Say to them that are of a fearful heart, Be strong, fear not: behold, your God will come with vengeance, even God with a recompence; he will come and save you.

Allora s’apriranno gli occhi dei ciechi, e saranno sturati gli orecchi de’ sordi;

Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped.

allora lo zoppo salterà come un cervo, e la lingua del muto canterà di gioia; perché delle acque sgorgheranno nel deserto, e de’ torrenti nella solitudine;

Then shall the lame man leap as an hart, and the tongue of the dumb sing: for in the wilderness shall waters break out, and streams in the desert.

il miraggio diventerà un lago, e il suolo assetato, un luogo di sorgenti d’acqua; nel ricetto che accoglieva gli sciacalli s’avrà un luogo da canne e da giunchi.

And the parched ground shall become a pool, and the thirsty land springs of water: in the habitation of dragons, where each lay, shall be grass with reeds and rushes.

Quivi sarà una strada maestra, una via che sarà chiamata "la via santa"; nessun impuro vi passerà; essa sarà per quelli soltanto; quei che la seguiranno, anche gl’insensati, non potranno smarrirvisi.

And an highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but it shall be for those: the wayfaring men, though fools, shall not err therein.

In quella via non ci saranno leoni; nessuna bestia feroce vi metterà piede o vi apparirà; ma vi cammineranno i redenti;

No lion shall be there, nor any ravenous beast shall go up thereon, it shall not be found there; but the redeemed shall walk there:

e i riscattati dall’Eterno torneranno, verranno a Sion con canti di gioia; un’allegrezza eterna coronerà il loro capo; otterranno gioia e letizia, e il dolore ed il gemito fuggiranno.

And the ransomed of the LORD shall return, and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy upon their heads: they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.
