Ezekiel 25

E la parola dell’Eterno mi fu rivolta in questi termini:

The word of the LORD came again unto me, saying,

"Figliuol d’uomo, volgi la tua faccia verso i figliuoli d’Ammon, e profetizza contro di loro; e di’ ai figliuoli d’Ammon:

Son of man, set thy face against the Ammonites, and prophesy against them;

Ascoltate la parola del Signore, dell’Eterno: Così parla il Signore, l’Eterno: Poiché tu hai detto: Ah! Ah! quando il mio santuario è stato profanato, quando il suolo d’Israele è stato desolato, e quando la casa di Giuda è andata in cattività,

And say unto the Ammonites, Hear the word of the Lord GOD; Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thou saidst, Aha, against my sanctuary, when it was profaned; and against the land of Israel, when it was desolate; and against the house of Judah, when they went into captivity;

ecco, io ti do in possesso de’ figliuoli d’Oriente, ed essi porranno in te i loro accampamenti, e stabiliranno in mezzo a te le loro dimore; e saranno essi che mangeranno i tuoi frutti, essi che berranno il tuo latte.

Behold, therefore I will deliver thee to the men of the east for a possession, and they shall set their palaces in thee, and make their dwellings in thee: they shall eat thy fruit, and they shall drink thy milk.

Io farò di Rabba un pascolo per i cammelli, e del paese de’ figliuoli d’Ammon, un ovile per le pecore; e voi conoscerete che io sono l’Eterno.

And I will make Rabbah a stable for camels, and the Ammonites a couchingplace for flocks: and ye shall know that I am the LORD.

Poiché così parla il Signore, l’Eterno: Poiché tu hai applaudito, e battuto de’ piedi, e ti sei rallegrato con tutto lo sprezzo che nutrivi dell’anima per la terra d’Israele,

For thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thou hast clapped thine hands, and stamped with the feet, and rejoiced in heart with all thy despite against the land of Israel;

ecco, io stendo la mia mano contro di te, ti do in pascolo alle nazioni, ti stermino di fra i popoli, ti fo sparire dal novero dei paesi, ti distruggo, e tu conoscerai che io sono l’Eterno.

Behold, therefore I will stretch out mine hand upon thee, and will deliver thee for a spoil to the heathen; and I will cut thee off from the people, and I will cause thee to perish out of the countries: I will destroy thee; and thou shalt know that I am the LORD.

Così parla il Signore, l’Eterno: Poiché Moab e Seir dicono: Ecco, la casa di Giuda è come tutte le altre nazioni,

Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because that Moab and Seir do say, Behold, the house of Judah is like unto all the heathen;

ecco, io aprirò il fianco di Moab dal lato delle città, dal lato delle città che stanno alle sue frontiere e sono lo splendore del paese, Beth-Ieschimoth, Baal-meon e Kiriathaim;

Therefore, behold, I will open the side of Moab from the cities, from his cities which are on his frontiers, the glory of the country, Beth–jeshimoth, Baal–meon, and Kiriathaim,

aprirò il fianco di Moab ai figliuoli dell’Oriente, nello stesso modo che aprirò loro il fianco de’ figliuoli d’Ammon; e darò questi paesi in loro possesso, affinché i figliuoli d’Ammon non sian più mentovati fra le nazioni;

Unto the men of the east with the Ammonites, and will give them in possession, that the Ammonites may not be remembered among the nations.

ed eserciterò i miei giudizi su Moab, ed essi conosceranno che io sono l’Eterno.

And I will execute judgments upon Moab; and they shall know that I am the LORD.

Così parla il Signore, l’Eterno: Poiché quelli d’Edom si sono crudelmente vendicati della casa di Giuda e si sono resi gravemente colpevoli vendicandosi d’essa,

Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because that Edom hath dealt against the house of Judah by taking vengeance, and hath greatly offended, and revenged himself upon them;

così parla il Signore, l’Eterno: Io stenderò la mia mano contro Edom, sterminerò uomini e bestie, ne farò un deserto fino da Theman, e fino a Dedan cadranno per la spada.

Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; I will also stretch out mine hand upon Edom, and will cut off man and beast from it; and I will make it desolate from Teman; and they of Dedan shall fall by the sword.

E rimetterò la mia vendetta sopra Edom nelle mani del mio popolo d’Israele; esso tratterà Edom secondo la mia ira e secondo il mio furore; ed essi conosceranno la mia vendetta, dice il Signore, l’Eterno.

And I will lay my vengeance upon Edom by the hand of my people Israel: and they shall do in Edom according to mine anger and according to my fury; and they shall know my vengeance, saith the Lord GOD.

Così parla il Signore, l’Eterno: Poiché i Filistei si sono abbandonati alla vendetta e si sono crudelmente vendicati, collo sprezzo che nutrivano nell’anima, dandosi alla distruzione per odio antico,

Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because the Philistines have dealt by revenge, and have taken vengeance with a despiteful heart, to destroy it for the old hatred;

così parla il Signore, l’Eterno: Ecco, io stenderò la mia mano contro i Filistei, sterminerò i Kerethei, e distruggerò il rimanente della costa del mare;

Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will stretch out mine hand upon the Philistines, and I will cut off the Cherethims, and destroy the remnant of the sea coast.

ed esercitò su loro grandi vendette, e li riprenderò con furore; ed essi conosceranno che io sono l’Eterno, quando avrò fatto loro sentire la mia vendetta".

And I will execute great vengeance upon them with furious rebukes; and they shall know that I am the LORD, when I shall lay my vengeance upon them.
