Poi Davide e i capi dell’esercito appartarono per il servizio quelli de’ figliuoli di Asaf, di Heman e di Jeduthun che cantavano gl’inni sacri accompagnandosi con cetre, con saltèri e con cembali; e questo e il numero di quelli che furono incaricati di questo servizio.

Moreover David and the captains of the host separated to the service of the sons of Asaph, and of Heman, and of Jeduthun, who should prophesy with harps, with psalteries, and with cymbals: and the number of the workmen according to their service was:

Dei figliuoli di Asaf: Zaccur, Josef, Nethania, Asarela, figliuoli di Asaf, sotto la direzione di Asaf, che cantava gl’inni sacri, seguendo le istruzioni del re.

Of the sons of Asaph; Zaccur, and Joseph, and Nethaniah, and Asarelah, the sons of Asaph under the hands of Asaph, which prophesied according to the order of the king.

Di Jeduthun: i figliuoli di Jeduthun: Ghedalia, Tseri, Isaia, Hashabia, Mattithia e Scimei, sei, sotto la direzione del loro padre Jeduthun, che cantava gl’inni sacri con la cetra per lodare e celebrare l’Eterno.

Of Jeduthun: the sons of Jeduthun; Gedaliah, and Zeri, and Jeshaiah, Hashabiah, and Mattithiah, six, under the hands of their father Jeduthun, who prophesied with a harp, to give thanks and to praise the LORD.

Di Heman: i figliuoli di Heman: Bukkija, Mattania, Uzziel, Scebuel, Jerimoth, Hanania, Hanani, Eliathak, Ghiddalthi, Romamti-Ezer, Joshbekasha, Mallothi, Hothir, Mahazioth.

Of Heman: the sons of Heman; Bukkiah, Mattaniah, Uzziel, Shebuel, and Jerimoth, Hananiah, Hanani, Eliathah, Giddalti, and Romamti–ezer, Joshbekashah, Mallothi, Hothir, and Mahazioth:

Tutti questi erano figliuoli di Heman, veggente del re, secondo la promessa di Dio di accrescer la potenza di Heman. Iddio infatti avea dato a Heman quattordici figliuoli e tre figliuole.

All these were the sons of Heman the king's seer in the words of God, to lift up the horn. And God gave to Heman fourteen sons and three daughters.

Tutti questi erano sotto la direzione dei loro padri per il canto della casa dell’Eterno, ed aveano dei cembali, dei saltèri e delle cetre per il servizio della casa di Dio. Eran sotto la direzione del re, di Asaf, di Jeduthun e di Heman.

All these were under the hands of their father for song in the house of the LORD, with cymbals, psalteries, and harps, for the service of the house of God, according to the king's order to Asaph, Jeduthun, and Heman.

Il loro numero, compresi i loro fratelli istruiti nel canto in onore dell’Eterno, tutti quelli cioè ch’erano esperti in questo, ascendeva a dugento ottanta otto.

So the number of them, with their brethren that were instructed in the songs of the LORD, even all that were cunning, was two hundred fourscore and eight.

Tirarono a sorte il loro ordine di servizio, tanto i piccoli quanto i grandi, tanto i maestri quanto i discepoli.

And they cast lots, ward against ward, as well the small as the great, the teacher as the scholar.

Il primo designato dalla sorte per Asaf fu Josef; il secondo, Ghedalia, coi suoi fratelli e i suoi figliuoli, dodici in tutto;

Now the first lot came forth for Asaph to Joseph: the second to Gedaliah, who with his brethren and sons were twelve:

il terzo fu Zaccur, coi suoi figliuoli e i suoi fratelli, dodici in tutto;

The third to Zaccur, he, his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:

il quarto fu Jtseri, coi suoi figliuoli e i suoi fratelli, dodici in tutto;

The fourth to Izri, he, his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:

il quinto fu Nethania, coi suoi figliuoli e suoi fratelli, dodici in tutto;

The fifth to Nethaniah, he, his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:

il sesto fu Bukkia, coi suoi figliuoli e i suoi fratelli, dodici in tutto;

The sixth to Bukkiah, he, his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:

il settimo fu Jesarela, coi suoi figliuoli e i suoi fratelli, dodici in tutto;

The seventh to Jesharelah, he, his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:

l’ottavo fu Isaia, coi suoi figliuoli e i suoi fratelli, dodici in tutto;

The eighth to Jeshaiah, he, his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:

il nono fu Mattania, coi suoi figliuoli e i suoi fratelli, dodici in tutto;

The ninth to Mattaniah, he, his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:

il decimo fu Scimei, coi suoi figliuoli e i suoi fratelli, dodici in tutto;

The tenth to Shimei, he, his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:

l’undecimo fu Azarel, coi suoi figliuoli e i suoi fratelli, dodici in tutto;

The eleventh to Azareel, he, his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:

il dodicesimo fu Hashabia, coi suoi figliuoli e i suoi fratelli, dodici in tutto;

The twelfth to Hashabiah, he, his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:

il tredicesimo fu Shubael, coi suoi figliuoli e i suoi fratelli, dodici in tutto;

The thirteenth to Shubael, he, his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:

il quattordicesimo fu Mattithia, coi suoi figliuoli i suoi fratelli, dodici in tutto;

The fourteenth to Mattithiah, he, his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:

il quindicesimo fu Jeremoth, coi suoi figliuoli e i suoi fratelli, dodici in tutto;

The fifteenth to Jeremoth, he, his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:

il sedicesimo fu Hanania, col suoi figliuoli e i suoi fratelli, dodici in tutto;

The sixteenth to Hananiah, he, his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:

il diciassettesimo fu Joshbekasha, coi suoi figliuoli e i suoi fratelli, dodici in tutto;

The seventeenth to Joshbekashah, he, his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:

il diciottesimo fu Hanani, coi suoi figliuoli e i suoi fratelli, dodici in tutto;

The eighteenth to Hanani, he, his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:

il diciannovesimo fu Mallothi, coi suoi figliuoli e i suoi fratelli, dodici in tutto;

The nineteenth to Mallothi, he, his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:

il ventesimo fu Eliatha, coi suoi figliuoli e i suoi fratelli, dodici in tutto;

The twentieth to Eliathah, he, his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:

il ventunesimo fu Hothir, coi suoi figliuoli e i suoi fratelli, dodici in tutto;

The one and twentieth to Hothir, he, his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:

il ventiduesimo fu Ghiddalti, coi suoi figliuoli e i suoi fratelli, dodici in tutto;

The two and twentieth to Giddalti, he, his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:

il ventesimoterzo fu Mahazioth, coi suoi figliuoli e i suoi fratelli, dodici in tutto;

The three and twentieth to Mahazioth, he, his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:

il ventesimoquarto fu Romamti-Ezer, coi suoi figliuoli e i suoi fratelli, dodici in tutto.

The four and twentieth to Romamti–ezer, he, his sons, and his brethren, were twelve.
