Joshua 11

وقتی خبر پیروزیهای یوشع به گوش یابین، پادشاه حاصور رسید، فوراً پیامهایی برای این پادشاهان فرستاد: یوباب پادشاه مادون، پادشاهان شمرون و اخشاف، پادشاهان کوهستان شمالی، پادشاهان دشت اردن در جنوب دریاچهٔ جلیل و هامون، پادشاهان نافوت دور در غرب، پادشاهان کنعان در سمت شرق و غرب، پادشاهان اموریان، پادشاهان حِتّیان، پادشاهان فرزیان، پادشاهان یبوسیان در کوهستان، پادشاهان حویان در دامنهٔ کوه حرمون در سرزمین مصفه.

And it came to pass, when Jabin king of Hazor had heard those things, that he sent to Jobab king of Madon, and to the king of Shimron, and to the king of Achshaph,

وقتی خبر پیروزیهای یوشع به گوش یابین، پادشاه حاصور رسید، فوراً پیامهایی برای این پادشاهان فرستاد: یوباب پادشاه مادون، پادشاهان شمرون و اخشاف، پادشاهان کوهستان شمالی، پادشاهان دشت اردن در جنوب دریاچهٔ جلیل و هامون، پادشاهان نافوت دور در غرب، پادشاهان کنعان در سمت شرق و غرب، پادشاهان اموریان، پادشاهان حِتّیان، پادشاهان فرزیان، پادشاهان یبوسیان در کوهستان، پادشاهان حویان در دامنهٔ کوه حرمون در سرزمین مصفه.

And to the kings that were on the north of the mountains, and of the plains south of Chinneroth, and in the valley, and in the borders of Dor on the west,

وقتی خبر پیروزیهای یوشع به گوش یابین، پادشاه حاصور رسید، فوراً پیامهایی برای این پادشاهان فرستاد: یوباب پادشاه مادون، پادشاهان شمرون و اخشاف، پادشاهان کوهستان شمالی، پادشاهان دشت اردن در جنوب دریاچهٔ جلیل و هامون، پادشاهان نافوت دور در غرب، پادشاهان کنعان در سمت شرق و غرب، پادشاهان اموریان، پادشاهان حِتّیان، پادشاهان فرزیان، پادشاهان یبوسیان در کوهستان، پادشاهان حویان در دامنهٔ کوه حرمون در سرزمین مصفه.

And to the Canaanite on the east and on the west, and to the Amorite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, and the Jebusite in the mountains, and to the Hivite under Hermon in the land of Mizpeh.

آنها همگی قوای خود را جمع کرده، یک ارتش متّحد تشکیل دادند که مثل ریگ دریا بی‌شمار بود. آنها با اسبان و ارّابه‌های جنگی در کنار چشمه‌های میرُوم اردو زده، برای جنگ با اسرائیل آماده شدند.

And they went out, they and all their hosts with them, much people, even as the sand that is upon the sea shore in multitude, with horses and chariots very many.

آنها همگی قوای خود را جمع کرده، یک ارتش متّحد تشکیل دادند که مثل ریگ دریا بی‌شمار بود. آنها با اسبان و ارّابه‌های جنگی در کنار چشمه‌های میرُوم اردو زده، برای جنگ با اسرائیل آماده شدند.

And when all these kings were met together, they came and pitched together at the waters of Merom, to fight against Israel.

خداوند به یوشع فرمود: «نترس، زیرا فردا در همین وقت همهٔ آنها را کشته، به دست مردم اسرائیل تسلیم می‌کنم. زردپی پاهای اسبان ایشان را قطع کنید و ارّابه‌های آنها را آتش بزنید.»

And the LORD said unto Joshua, Be not afraid because of them: for to morrow about this time will I deliver them up all slain before Israel: thou shalt hough their horses, and burn their chariots with fire.

‌پس یوشع با مردان خود به میرُوم رفت و با یک حملهٔ ناگهانی، آنها را شکست داد.

So Joshua came, and all the people of war with him, against them by the waters of Merom suddenly; and they fell upon them.

خداوند آنها را به دست مردم اسرائیل تسلیم کرد. و سربازان اسرائیل، دشمنان را تا به صیدون بزرگ و مسرفوت مایم در شمال و دشت مصفه در شرق تعقیب کرده کشتند و یکی از آنها را هم زنده نگذاشتند.

And the LORD delivered them into the hand of Israel, who smote them, and chased them unto great Zidon, and unto Misrephoth–maim, and unto the valley of Mizpeh eastward; and they smote them, until they left them none remaining.

پس یوشع همان‌طور که خداوند امر فرموده بود، با آنها رفتار نمود، زردپی پاهای اسبهای ایشان راقطع کرد و تمام ارّابه‌های ایشان را آتش زد.

And Joshua did unto them as the LORD bade him: he houghed their horses, and burnt their chariots with fire.

یوشع در راه بازگشت، حاصور را تصرّف کرد و پادشاه آن را کشت، زیرا حاصور در آن زمان نیرومندترین شهر بود.

And Joshua at that time turned back, and took Hazor, and smote the king thereof with the sword: for Hazor beforetime was the head of all those kingdoms.

همهٔ ساکنان آنجا را با شمشیر کشت و هیچ جانداری را زنده نگذاشت و حاصور را نیز به آتش کشید.

And they smote all the souls that were therein with the edge of the sword, utterly destroying them: there was not any left to breathe: and he burnt Hazor with fire.

بعد به شهرهای دیگر هم حمله کرد. همه را از بین برد و پادشاهان آنها را به قتل رسانید. همان‌طور که موسی، خادم خداوند، دستور داده بود.

And all the cities of those kings, and all the kings of them, did Joshua take, and smote them with the edge of the sword, and he utterly destroyed them, as Moses the servant of the LORD commanded.

امّا یوشع از میان تمام شهرهایی که بر روی تپّه‌ها بنا شده بودند، فقط حاصور را آتش زد.

But as for the cities that stood still in their strength, Israel burned none of them, save Hazor only; that did Joshua burn.

تمام غنیمت و گلّه و رمه‌ای را که بنی‌اسرائیل به دست آوردند، برای خود نگه داشتند، امّا همهٔ مردم را با دَم شمشیر کشتند و هیچ‌کس را زنده نگذاشتند.

And all the spoil of these cities, and the cattle, the children of Israel took for a prey unto themselves; but every man they smote with the edge of the sword, until they had destroyed them, neither left they any to breathe.

یوشع طبق دستور خداوند به خادم خود موسی، و راهنمایی موسی رفتار کرد و همهٔ اوامر خداوند را کاملاً انجام داد.

As the LORD commanded Moses his servant, so did Moses command Joshua, and so did Joshua; he left nothing undone of all that the LORD commanded Moses.

به این ترتیب یوشع تمام آن سرزمین را تصرّف کرد. یعنی همهٔ کوهستان‌ها، منطقهٔ جنوبی، منطقهٔ جوشن، دشتها، کوهستان‌های اسرائیل و دشت اردن.

So Joshua took all that land, the hills, and all the south country, and all the land of Goshen, and the valley, and the plain, and the mountain of Israel, and the valley of the same;

قلمرو اسرائیل از کوه حالق، در نزدیکی اَدوم، تا بعل جاد در دشت لبنان، در دامنهٔ کوه حرمون وسعت یافت و یوشع پادشاهان آنها را دستگیر کرد و به قتل رساند.

Even from the mount Halak, that goeth up to Seir, even unto Baal–gad in the valley of Lebanon under mount Hermon: and all their kings he took, and smote them, and slew them.

این جنگها سالهای زیادی طول کشید.

Joshua made war a long time with all those kings.

تنها شهری که با اسرائیل صلح کرد جبعون بود که حویان در آن ساکن بودند. ولی همهٔ شهرهای دیگر را تصرّف کردند و از بین بردند.

There was not a city that made peace with the children of Israel, save the Hivites the inhabitants of Gibeon: all other they took in battle.

چون این خواست خدا بود که دلهای آنها سخت گردد و به جنگ با اسرائیل برخیزند. در نتیجه همگی آنها بدون هیچ ترحّمی‌ کشته شدند. چنانکه خداوند به موسی فرموده بود.

For it was of the LORD to harden their hearts, that they should come against Israel in battle, that he might destroy them utterly, and that they might have no favour, but that he might destroy them, as the LORD commanded Moses.

در این زمان یوشع، عناقیانی را که در منطقهٔ کوهستانی حبرون، دبیر، عناب و کوههای یهودا و اسرائیل زندگی می‌کردند، کشت و آنها را با شهرهایشان بکلّی نابود کرد.

And at that time came Joshua, and cut off the Anakims from the mountains, from Hebron, from Debir, from Anab, and from all the mountains of Judah, and from all the mountains of Israel: Joshua destroyed them utterly with their cities.

از عناقیان یک نفر هم در سرزمین اسرائیل زنده نماند، امّا بعضی از آنها در غزه، جت و اشدود باقی ماندند.

There was none of the Anakims left in the land of the children of Israel: only in Gaza, in Gath, and in Ashdod, there remained.

به این ترتیب یوشع، طبق دستور خداوند به موسی، تمام آن سرزمین را تصرّف نمود و آن را به عنوان ملکیّت به بنی‌اسرائیل داد و سپس آن را بین تمام طایفه‌های بنی‌اسرائیل تقسیم کرد. سرانجام در آن سرزمین آرامی‌ برقرار شد.

So Joshua took the whole land, according to all that the LORD said unto Moses; and Joshua gave it for an inheritance unto Israel according to their divisions by their tribes. And the land rested from war.
