Isaiah 6

در همان سالی که عُزیای پادشاه مُرد، من خداوند را دیدم. او بر تخت بلند و پرشکوه خود نشسته بود. دامن ردای او تمام صحن معبد بزرگ را پوشانیده بود.

In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple.

اطراف او موجوداتی نورانی ایستاده بودند. هریک از آنها شش بال داشت. با دو بال صورت خود را و با دو بال دیگر بدن خویش را می‌پوشانیدند، و با دو بال آخر پرواز می‌کردند.

Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly.

آنها به یکدیگر می‌گفتند: «قدّوس، قدّوس، قدّوس! خداوند متعال که جلالش جهان را پر ساخته است.»

And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.

صدای آواز آنها بنیان معبد بزرگ را به لرزه درآورد و معبد بزرگ پر از دود شد.

And the posts of the door moved at the voice of him that cried, and the house was filled with smoke.

گفتم: «دیگر برایم امیدی نیست. هر حرفی که از لبانم بیرون می‌‌آید به گناه آلوده است، و در میان قومی ناپاک لب زندگی می‌کنم. با وجود این من پادشاه -‌خدای متعال- را با چشمان خود دیده‌ام.»

Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts.

آنگاه یکی از آن موجودات، زغالی افروخته را با انبر از قربانگاه برداشت و به سوی من پرواز کرد.

Then flew one of the seraphims unto me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar:

او لبهای مرا با آن زغال گداخته لمس کرد و گفت: «این لبهای تو را لمس نموده پس گناهانت پاک و خطاهایت آمرزیده شده ‌است.»

And he laid it upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged.

آنگاه شنیدم که خداوند می‌گفت: «چه کسی را بفرستم؟ چه کسی از جانب ما خواهد رفت؟» من جواب دادم: «مرا بفرست، من خواهم رفت.»

Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.

پس خداوند به من گفت: «برو و به مردم بگو دیگر هرچقدر گوش کنید، درک نخواهید کرد و هرقدر نگاه کنید، نخواهید فهمید که چه می‌گذرد.»

And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not.

آنگاه خداوند به من گفت: «ذهنهای آنها را کُند، گوشهایشان را کَر و چشمانشان را کور کن تا نتوانند ببینند، بشنوند یا بفهمند تا به‌ سوی من بازگردند و شفا یابند.»

Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and convert, and be healed.

من پرسیدم: «خداوندا، تا کی چنین خواهد بود؟» او گفت: «تا آن وقت که شهرها ویران، از سکنه خالی، و خانه‌هایشان متروک شوند تا زمانی که زمین خودش بایر گردد.

Then said I, Lord, how long? And he answered, Until the cities be wasted without inhabitant, and the houses without man, and the land be utterly desolate,

من مردمانش را به مکانهای دوردست خواهم فرستاد و تمام سرزمین را ویران خواهم ساخت.

And the LORD have removed men far away, and there be a great forsaking in the midst of the land.

اگر از هر ده نفر یک نفر باقی بماند، او هم مثل تنهٔ خشکیده درخت چنار که بریده شد، از بین خواهد رفت.» (شاخهٔ خشک نشانهٔ شروع تازهٔ قوم خداست.)

But yet in it shall be a tenth, and it shall return, and shall be eaten: as a teil tree, and as an oak, whose substance is in them, when they cast their leaves: so the holy seed shall be the substance thereof.
