Jeremiah 16

И ГОСПОДНОТО слово беше към мен и каза:

The word of the LORD came also unto me, saying,

Да не си вземаш жена и да нямаш синове и дъщери на това място.

Thou shalt not take thee a wife, neither shalt thou have sons or daughters in this place.

Защото така казва ГОСПОД за синовете и за дъщерите, които се раждат на това място, и за майките им, които са ги родили, и за бащите им, които са ги заченали в тази земя:

For thus saith the LORD concerning the sons and concerning the daughters that are born in this place, and concerning their mothers that bare them, and concerning their fathers that begat them in this land;

Ще умрат от ужасни смъртоносни болести. Няма бъдат оплакани, нито погребани — ще станат тор по лицето на земята. Ще се довършат от меч и от глад и труповете им ще бъдат за храна на небесните птици и на земните зверове.

They shall die of grievous deaths; they shall not be lamented; neither shall they be buried; but they shall be as dung upon the face of the earth: and they shall be consumed by the sword, and by famine; and their carcases shall be meat for the fowls of heaven, and for the beasts of the earth.

Защото така казва ГОСПОД: Не влизай в дом на оплакване и не ходи да жалееш или да ги оплакваш; защото отнех Своя мир от този народ, заявява ГОСПОД, милостта и щедростите.

For thus saith the LORD, Enter not into the house of mourning, neither go to lament nor bemoan them: for I have taken away my peace from this people, saith the LORD, even lovingkindness and mercies.

И ще измрат големи и малки в тази земя; няма да бъдат погребани, нито ще ги оплачат, нито ще правят нарязвания по телата си, нито ще се обръснат за тях,

Both the great and the small shall die in this land: they shall not be buried, neither shall men lament for them, nor cut themselves, nor make themselves bald for them:

нито ще разчупват хляб в жалеенето, за да утешат някого за мъртвия, нито ще ги напоят от чашата на утешението за баща им или за майка им.

Neither shall men tear themselves for them in mourning, to comfort them for the dead; neither shall men give them the cup of consolation to drink for their father or for their mother.

И в дом на пируване не влизай да седиш с тях да ядеш и да пиеш.

Thou shalt not also go into the house of feasting, to sit with them to eat and to drink.

Защото така казва ГОСПОД на Войнствата, Израилевият Бог: Ето, Аз ще направя на това място, пред очите ви и във вашите дни да престане гласът на радостта и гласът на веселието, гласът на младоженеца и гласът на невястата.

For thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will cause to cease out of this place in your eyes, and in your days, the voice of mirth, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride.

И когато известиш на този народ всички тези думи и те ти кажат: Защо е изрекъл ГОСПОД това голямо зло против нас? И какво е беззаконието ни и какъв е грехът ни, с който сме съгрешили против ГОСПОДА, своя Бог?

And it shall come to pass, when thou shalt shew this people all these words, and they shall say unto thee, Wherefore hath the LORD pronounced all this great evil against us? or what is our iniquity? or what is our sin that we have committed against the LORD our God?

Тогава да им кажеш: Понеже бащите ви Ме оставиха, заявява ГОСПОД, и последваха други богове и им служиха и им се покланяха, а Мен оставиха и не пазиха закона Ми;

Then shalt thou say unto them, Because your fathers have forsaken me, saith the LORD, and have walked after other gods, and have served them, and have worshipped them, and have forsaken me, and have not kept my law;

а и вие вършихте повече зло от бащите си, и ето, ходите всеки според упорството на злото си сърце и не Ме слушате;

And ye have done worse than your fathers; for, behold, ye walk every one after the imagination of his evil heart, that they may not hearken unto me:

затова ще ви изхвърля от тази земя в земя, която не сте познавали нито вие, нито бащите ви. И там ще служите на други богове денем и нощем, понеже няма да ви окажа милост.

Therefore will I cast you out of this land into a land that ye know not, neither ye nor your fathers; and there shall ye serve other gods day and night; where I will not shew you favour.

Затова, ето, идват дни, заявява ГОСПОД, когато няма вече да се казва: Жив е ГОСПОД, който изведе израилевите синове от египетската земя! —

Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that it shall no more be said, The LORD liveth, that brought up the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt;

а: Жив е ГОСПОД, който изведе израилевите синове от северната земя и от всичките земи, където ги беше изгонил! И Аз ще ги върна отново в земята им, която дадох на бащите им.

But, The LORD liveth, that brought up the children of Israel from the land of the north, and from all the lands whither he had driven them: and I will bring them again into their land that I gave unto their fathers.

Ето, ще изпратя за много рибари, заявява ГОСПОД, и ще ги изловят. И след това ще изпратя за много ловци, и ще ги гонят от всяка планина и от всеки хълм, и от цепките на скалите.

Behold, I will send for many fishers, saith the LORD, and they shall fish them; and after will I send for many hunters, and they shall hunt them from every mountain, and from every hill, and out of the holes of the rocks.

Защото очите Ми са над всичките им пътища; не са скрити от Мен и беззаконието им не е укрито от очите Ми.

For mine eyes are upon all their ways: they are not hid from my face, neither is their iniquity hid from mine eyes.

И първо ще им отплатя двойно за беззаконието им и за греха им, защото оскверниха земята Ми с труповете на гнусотиите си и с мерзостите си напълниха наследството Ми.

And first I will recompense their iniquity and their sin double; because they have defiled my land, they have filled mine inheritance with the carcases of their detestable and abominable things.

ГОСПОДИ, сила моя и крепост моя, прибежище мое в скръбен ден! При Теб ще дойдат народи от краищата на земята и ще кажат: Само лъжа наследиха бащите ни, нищожни идоли и безполезни неща.

O LORD, my strength, and my fortress, and my refuge in the day of affliction, the Gentiles shall come unto thee from the ends of the earth, and shall say, Surely our fathers have inherited lies, vanity, and things wherein there is no profit.

Да си направи ли човек богове, а те не са богове?

Shall a man make gods unto himself, and they are no gods?

Затова, ето, Аз ще ги направя този път да познаят, ще ги направя да познаят ръката Ми и силата Ми; и ще познаят, че Името Ми е ГОСПОД.

Therefore, behold, I will this once cause them to know, I will cause them to know mine hand and my might; and they shall know that my name is The LORD.
