II Samuel 24

И гневът на ГОСПОДА отново пламна против Израил и Той подбуди Давид против тях да каже: Иди, преброй Израил и Юда.

And again the anger of the LORD was kindled against Israel, and he moved David against them to say, Go, number Israel and Judah.

И царят каза на Йоав, военачалника, който беше с него: Премини сега през всичките израилеви племена, от Дан до Вирсавее, и пребройте народа, за да зная броя на народа.

For the king said to Joab the captain of the host, which was with him, Go now through all the tribes of Israel, from Dan even to Beer–sheba, and number ye the people, that I may know the number of the people.

А Йоав каза на царя: Дано ГОСПОД, твоят Бог, прибави към народа стократно повече, отколкото е, и нека очите на господаря ми, царя, го видят! Но защо господарят ми, царят, желае това нещо?

And Joab said unto the king, Now the LORD thy God add unto the people, how many soever they be, an hundredfold, and that the eyes of my lord the king may see it: but why doth my lord the king delight in this thing?

Но думата на царя надделя над Йоав и военачалниците. И така, Йоав и военачалниците излязоха от присъствието на царя, за да преброят народа Израил.

Notwithstanding the king's word prevailed against Joab, and against the captains of the host. And Joab and the captains of the host went out from the presence of the king, to number the people of Israel.

И те преминаха Йордан и се разположиха на стан в Ароир, вдясно от града, който е в средата на долината на Гад, и продължиха към Язир.

And they passed over Jordan, and pitched in Aroer, on the right side of the city that lieth in the midst of the river of Gad, and toward Jazer:

После дойдоха в Галаад и в земята Тахтим-Одси и дойдоха до Дан-Яан и околностите на Сидон;

Then they came to Gilead, and to the land of Tahtim–hodshi; and they came to Dan–jaan, and about to Zidon,

и дойдоха до укрепения град Сор и до всичките градове на евейците и на ханаанците, и излязоха в южната част на Юда, до Вирсавее.

And came to the strong hold of Tyre, and to all the cities of the Hivites, and of the Canaanites: and they went out to the south of Judah, even to Beer–sheba.

Така преминаха през цялата земя и дойдоха в Ерусалим след девет месеца и двадесет дни.

So when they had gone through all the land, they came to Jerusalem at the end of nine months and twenty days.

И Йоав предаде на царя броя на преброения народ. И в Израил имаше осемстотин хиляди военни мъже, които теглеха меч, а юдовите мъже бяха петстотин хиляди.

And Joab gave up the sum of the number of the people unto the king: and there were in Israel eight hundred thousand valiant men that drew the sword; and the men of Judah were five hundred thousand men.

Но сърцето на Давид го изобличи, след като беше преброил народа. И Давид каза на ГОСПОДА: Съгреших много с това, което направих. И сега, ГОСПОДИ, отмахни, моля Те, беззаконието на слугата Си, защото направих голяма глупост!

And David's heart smote him after that he had numbered the people. And David said unto the LORD, I have sinned greatly in that I have done: and now, I beseech thee, O LORD, take away the iniquity of thy servant; for I have done very foolishly.

И когато Давид стана на сутринта, ГОСПОДНОТО слово беше към пророк Гад, гледача на Давид, и каза:

For when David was up in the morning, the word of the LORD came unto the prophet Gad, David's seer, saying,

Иди и кажи на Давид: Така говори ГОСПОД: Три неща ти предлагам; избери си едно от тях, за да ти го направя.

Go and say unto David, Thus saith the LORD, I offer thee three things; choose thee one of them, that I may do it unto thee.

И Гад дойде при Давид и му съобщи, и му каза: Да дойдат ли седем години глад в земята ти, или да бягаш три месеца от враговете си, докато те преследват, или да има три дни мор в земята ти? Размисли сега и виж какъв отговор да върна на Този, който ме изпрати.

So Gad came to David, and told him, and said unto him, Shall seven years of famine come unto thee in thy land? or wilt thou flee three months before thine enemies, while they pursue thee? or that there be three days' pestilence in thy land? now advise, and see what answer I shall return to him that sent me.

А Давид каза на Гад: В голямо притеснение съм. Моля те, нека паднем в ръката на ГОСПОДА, защото Неговите милости са големи, а в ръката на човек да не падам!

And David said unto Gad, I am in a great strait: let us fall now into the hand of the LORD; for his mercies are great: and let me not fall into the hand of man.

И ГОСПОД изпрати мор върху Израил от сутринта до определеното време и измряха седемдесет хиляди мъже от народа от Дан до Вирсавее.

So the LORD sent a pestilence upon Israel from the morning even to the time appointed: and there died of the people from Dan even to Beer–sheba seventy thousand men.

И когато ангелът простря ръката си срещу Ерусалим, за да го погуби, ГОСПОД се смили заради злото и каза на ангела, който погубваше сред народа: Достатъчно! Оттегли сега ръката си! А Ангелът ГОСПОДЕН беше при хармана на евусееца Орна.

And when the angel stretched out his hand upon Jerusalem to destroy it, the LORD repented him of the evil, and said to the angel that destroyed the people, It is enough: stay now thine hand. And the angel of the LORD was by the threshingplace of Araunah the Jebusite.

И когато Давид видя ангела, който поразяваше сред народа, говори на ГОСПОДА и каза: Ето, аз съгреших и аз постъпих криво! А тези овце какво са сторили? Моля те, нека ръката Ти бъде срещу мен и срещу моя бащин дом!

And David spake unto the LORD when he saw the angel that smote the people, and said, Lo, I have sinned, and I have done wickedly: but these sheep, what have they done? let thine hand, I pray thee, be against me, and against my father's house.

И в същия ден Гад дойде при Давид и му каза: Изкачи се и издигни на ГОСПОДА олтар на хармана на евусееца Орна.

And Gad came that day to David, and said unto him, Go up, rear an altar unto the LORD in the threshingfloor of Araunah the Jebusite.

И Давид се изкачи според словото на Гад, както ГОСПОД беше заповядал.

And David, according to the saying of Gad, went up as the LORD commanded.

И Орна погледна и видя царя и слугите му да идват към него, и Орна излезе и се поклони пред царя с лице до земята.

And Araunah looked, and saw the king and his servants coming on toward him: and Araunah went out, and bowed himself before the king on his face upon the ground.

И Орна каза: Защо идва господарят ми, царят, при слугата си? А Давид каза: За да купя от теб хармана, за да построя олтар на ГОСПОДА, за да се оттегли язвата от народа.

And Araunah said, Wherefore is my lord the king come to his servant? And David said, To buy the threshingfloor of thee, to build an altar unto the LORD, that the plague may be stayed from the people.

А Орна каза на Давид: Нека господарят ми, царят, вземе и принесе в жертва каквото му се вижда добро. Ето говедата за всеизгаряне и диканите и впряговете на говедата за дърва.

And Araunah said unto David, Let my lord the king take and offer up what seemeth good unto him: behold, here be oxen for burnt sacrifice, and threshing instruments and other instruments of the oxen for wood.

Всичко това, царю, Орна дава на царя. И Орна каза на царя: Дано ГОСПОД, твоят Бог, благоволи в теб!

All these things did Araunah, as a king, give unto the king. And Araunah said unto the king, The LORD thy God accept thee.

Но царят каза на Орна: Не, непременно ще го купя от теб за определената цена и няма да принеса на ГОСПОДА, своя Бог, всеизгаряния, които не ми струват нищо! И Давид купи хармана и говедата за петдесет сикъла сребро.

And the king said unto Araunah, Nay; but I will surely buy it of thee at a price: neither will I offer burnt offerings unto the LORD my God of that which doth cost me nothing. So David bought the threshingfloor and the oxen for fifty shekels of silver.

И Давид построи там олтар на ГОСПОДА и принесе всеизгаряния и примирителни жертви. И ГОСПОД чу молитвата за земята и язвата се оттегли от Израил.

And David built there an altar unto the LORD, and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings. So the LORD was intreated for the land, and the plague was stayed from Israel.
