II Peter 3

Ето, възлюбени, пиша ви това второ писмо; и в тези двете събуждам чрез напомняне вашия чист разум,

This second epistle, beloved, I now write unto you; in both which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance:

за да помните думите, изговорени по-напред от светите пророци, и заповедта на Господа и Спасителя, дадена чрез изпратените при вас апостоли.

That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour:

Преди всичко знайте това, че в последните дни ще дойдат подиграватели с подигравки, които ще ходят по своите собствени страсти и ще казват:

Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,

Къде е обещаното Му пришествие? Защото, откакто са се поминали бащите ни, всичко си стои така, както е било от началото на създанието.

And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.

Защото те своеволно не признават това, че чрез Божието слово от началото е имало небеса и земя, сплотена от водата и сред водата,

For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:

но пак посредством нея тогавашният свят, потопен от водата, загина.

Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:

Така, със същото слово, са съхранени и днешните небе и земя, пазени за огън до деня на съда и погибелта на нечестивите хора.

But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.

Но това да не бъде скрито от вас, възлюбени, че за Господа един ден е като хиляда години и хиляда години – като един ден.

But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

Господ не забавя това, което е обещал, както някои смятат това за забавяне, а дълго ни търпи; понеже не иска да погинат някои, а всички да дойдат на покаяние.

The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

Но Господният Ден ще дойде като крадец, когато небето ще отмине с бучене и елементите нажежени ще се разпаднат, и земята и делата по нея ще изгорят.

But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

И така, понеже всичко това ще се разпадне, какви трябва да сте вие в своя свят живот и благочестие,

Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,

като очаквате и ускорявате идването на Божия Ден, за който небето възпламенено ще се разпадне и нажежените елементи ще се стопят?

Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?

Но ние според обещанието Му очакваме нови небеса и нова земя, в които обитава правда.

Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

Затова, възлюбени, като очаквате тези неща, старайте се да се намерите от Него в мир, чисти и непорочни.

Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.

И считайте дълготърпението на нашия Господ за спасение, както ви е писал и възлюбеният ни брат Павел според дадената му мъдрост,

And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you;

както пише и във всичките си писма, когато говори в тях за тези работи — в които има някои неща, мъчни за разбиране, които невежите и неутвърдените изопачават, както и другите Писания, за своя собствена гибел.

As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.

И така, вие, възлюбени, като знаете това предварително, се пазете, да не би да се завлечете от заблуждението на беззаконните и да отпаднете от твърдостта си.

Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness.

Но растете в благодатта и познанието на нашия Господ и Спасител Иисус Христос. На Него да бъде слава и сега, и в деня на вечността. Амин.

But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.
