Zephaniah 2

Hỡi dân chẳng biết xấu hổ! hãy nhóm hiệp lại, phải, hãy nhóm hiệp lại,

Gather yourselves together, yea, gather together, O nation not desired;

trước khi mạng lịnh chưa ra, ngày giờ chưa qua như trấu, trước khi sự nóng giận của Ðức Giê-hô-va chưa đến trên các ngươi, trước khi ngày thạnh nộ của Ðức Giê-hô-va chưa đến trên các ngươi.

Before the decree bring forth, before the day pass as the chaff, before the fierce anger of the LORD come upon you, before the day of the LORD'S anger come upon you.

Hỡi các ngươi là mọi kẻ nhu mì của đất, làm theo mạng lịnh của Chúa, hãy tìm kiếm Ðức Giê-hô-va, tìm kiếm sự công bình, tìm kiếm sự nhu mì, hoặc giả các ngươi sẽ được giấu kín trong ngày thạnh nộ của Ðức Giê-hô-va.

Seek ye the LORD, all ye meek of the earth, which have wrought his judgment; seek righteousness, seek meekness: it may be ye shall be hid in the day of the LORD'S anger.

Thật vậy, Ga-xa sẽ bỏ hoang, Ách-ca-lôn sẽ hoang vu; người ta sẽ đuổi dân cư Ách-đốt đương lúc giữa trưa, và Éc-rôn sẽ bị nhổ đi.

For Gaza shall be forsaken, and Ashkelon a desolation: they shall drive out Ashdod at the noon day, and Ekron shall be rooted up.

Khốn thay cho dân cư ở miền biển, tức là dân tộc Cơ-rết! Hỡi Ca-na-an là đất của người Phi-li-tin, lời của Ðức Giê-hô-va cũng nghịch cùng các ngươi; ta sẽ hủy diệt ngươi cho đến không còn dân cư nữa.

Woe unto the inhabitants of the sea coast, the nation of the Cherethites! the word of the LORD is against you; O Canaan, the land of the Philistines, I will even destroy thee, that there shall be no inhabitant.

Miền biển sẽ trở nên đồng cỏ, với những lều của kẻ chăn và chuồng của bầy chiên.

And the sea coast shall be dwellings and cottages for shepherds, and folds for flocks.

Miền ấy sẽ thuộc về phần sót lại của nhà Giu-đa; chúng nó sẽ chăn trong các nơi đó, ban tối sẽ nghỉ trong các nhà của Ách-ca-lôn; vì Giê-hô-va Ðức Chúa Trời chúng nó sẽ thăm viếng chúng nó, và đem phu tù chúng nó trở về.

And the coast shall be for the remnant of the house of Judah; they shall feed thereupon: in the houses of Ashkelon shall they lie down in the evening: for the LORD their God shall visit them, and turn away their captivity.

Ta đã nghe lời Mô-áp chế báng, lời con cái Am-môn sỉ nhục, chúng nó xỉ vả dân ta, khoe mình nghịch cùng bờ cõi nó.

I have heard the reproach of Moab, and the revilings of the children of Ammon, whereby they have reproached my people, and magnified themselves against their border.

Vậy nên, Ðức Giê-hô-va vạn quân, tức là Ðức Chúa Trời của Y-sơ-ra-ên, phán rằng: Thật như ta hằng sống, Mô-áp chắc sẽ giống như Sô-đôm và con cái Am-môn sẽ giống như Gô-mô-rơ, thành ra một nơi đầy gai gốc, một hầm muối, một chỗ hoang vu đời đời; những kẻ sống sót của dân ta sẽ cướp bóc chúng nó, phần sót lại của dân ta sẽ được chúng nó làm sản nghiệp.

Therefore as I live, saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, Surely Moab shall be as Sodom, and the children of Ammon as Gomorrah, even the breeding of nettles, and saltpits, and a perpetual desolation: the residue of my people shall spoil them, and the remnant of my people shall possess them.

Ðiều đó xảy đến cho chúng nó vì chúng nó kiêu ngạo, xỉ vả và khoe mình nghịch cùng dân của Ðức Giê-hô-va vạn quân.

This shall they have for their pride, because they have reproached and magnified themselves against the people of the LORD of hosts.

Ðức Giê-hô-va sẽ tỏ ra là đáng sợ cho chúng nó; vì Ngài sẽ làm cho các thần trên đất chịu đói; và người ta ai nầy sẽ từ nơi mình thờ lạy Ngài, dầu hết thảy các cù lao các nước cũng vậy.

The LORD will be terrible unto them: for he will famish all the gods of the earth; and men shall worship him, every one from his place, even all the isles of the heathen.

Hỡi dân cư Ê-thi-ô-bi, các ngươi cũng sẽ bị đâm bởi gươm ta.

Ye Ethiopians also, ye shall be slain by my sword.

Ðoạn, Ðức Giê-hô-va sẽ giang tay về phía bắc, sẽ hủy diệt A-si-ri, làm cho Ni-ni-ve hoang vu, thành ra một chỗ khô khan như đồng vắng.

And he will stretch out his hand against the north, and destroy Assyria; and will make Nineveh a desolation, and dry like a wilderness.

Những bầy thú vật sẽ nằm ở giữa nó; hết thảy các loài thú khác, cả đến chim bò nông và con nhím cũng ở trên những đầu trụ nó. Tiếng chim kêu nghe nơi cửa sổ, sự hoang vu ở nơi ngạch cửa, và những mái gỗ bá hương đã bị dỡ đi.

And flocks shall lie down in the midst of her, all the beasts of the nations: both the cormorant and the bittern shall lodge in the upper lintels of it; their voice shall sing in the windows; desolation shall be in the thresholds: for he shall uncover the cedar work.

Kìa, thành vui vẻ nầy đã ở yên không lo lắng và nói trong lòng mình rằng: Ta đây, ngoài ta không còn ai hết! Nó đã trở nên hoang vu, làm chỗ nằm cho loài thú vật là dường nào! Phàm kẻ đi qua sẽ khoa tay mà nhạo cười!

This is the rejoicing city that dwelt carelessly, that said in her heart, I am, and there is none beside me: how is she become a desolation, a place for beasts to lie down in! every one that passeth by her shall hiss, and wag his hand.
